Despite how long THIS video is, I still left a lot out. If memory serves, right before the moment where the moderator says "let's not get personal", I'd actually made a comment to Eli about trafficking drugs to kids. So, I'm pretty sure that was what happened beforehand (and obviously, that makes a lot more sense than what prompted her to say that in the posted video). I actually wish this conversation had been one of substance. I think there are some clearly serious social issues that concern women that need air time and deserve discussion. The fact we can't even do that because of how radical this has become is sad to me. BUT, have a chuckle at the absurdity of all of this. It's so sad it's funny.
You deserve a war medal for putting up with them. I am glad that women like you and Pearl are out there and are very informed on subject matter. The feminist panel gains momentum if an opposing view is not presented. Keep up the good work!!
Why did you ignore all the women on the panel and just spilled out your conservative talking points. You weren't there for a conversation. You were their to lobby for the right wing
Socialist here, and like many socialists I loathe feminism. There's a reason feminism allied so easily with the corporate-owned Democrat party---both are thoroughly corrupt. Sad to say I can't listen to Sydney, either. Her prattle about Vice being a leftist outlet is an offense against reason, given that on other than a handful of social issues Vice is entirely in line with Democrats on nearly every economic and foreign policy issue.
Sydney and the other woman both approached the conversation wrongly, but Sydney lucked out in the end. The purpose isn't to attempt to change YOUR mind, it's to attempt to change THE AUDIENCE'S mind. You can't reason with someone that is incapable of listening, and cackling like a supervillain is how you make people on your side start to second-guess themselves.
Literally laughing Sydney down in order to silence her. The host even tries to get them to talk "with each other" and then lets Sydney get talked over and down to. I mean, I lived through all of the 2020''s to date: I know what gas lighting is. They're pretending to be conversational and 'inclusive,' but they include the people they want to silence in the 'friendly group' and public shame the 'omega' of the group in order to display to the world how the pecking order works. This is high school, popular girl drama carried into adulthood. In two words, it's pathetic and childish. They are literally perpetual children.
@@user-lt1jd1ye3v yes all people from this one nation live in a psychological bubble, unlike 100% of Americans who have a level headed rational worldview 😂
Pearl got them frozen or saying stupid things so often haha I love it. When she mentioned personal accountability, they had silence. Sadly while the ones on the "right" did well, the ones on the "left" were the usual ridiculous people who kept using the typical liberal excuses for their belief. By the way, as much as they were all complaining about society, I bet all of them are doing well or if they have any problems, we can easily prove the problems are of their own creation.
when that one girl says not to question a woman’s experience based on who she is and then in the same breath says you’re literally a white woman from Australia; watching that debate made me so upset because they completely silenced one side of things, just know you have tons of women & girls out here who agree with you and thank you for speaking out sydney!!
Yes, and on top of that it was extra hypocritical because she was also white, like how are you gonna diminish someone for there race and then also share the same racial makeup as them 😂
That quote made by a girl born in Germany, raised in Canada, and who resides in New York City as a "D.J. and Storyteller". True her parents were from Afghanistan, but she isn't... does that make her top "cultural appropriated". 🤔 I bet her grandparents would have treated her a bit "Taliban" for her attitude. Clearly fruit from the western fem tree and not from any middle eastern culture.
@@pettylilthing exactly!! i was confused asf bc she’s literally white too, also she just assumed sydney is white when she could be a variety of things; these people are so anti-racist that they actually become racist, like you’re literally judging someone on their skin color instead of their character/morals
Not even a camera crew, a secret camera. Then they can't fit you up. I'd even say, I want the camera for my own safety. The whole premise of cctv is to prevent a crime. So why can't you do that?

My sister and I both watched the panel, and we agreed that you were one of the most well-spoken and level headed people on it. Thank you for speaking up for the women that don't lean entirely left.
I was so relieved when I went to the actual VICE video and saw that all the comments I could see were in support of Sydney and Pearl!! Hope in humanity restored.
Feminists:" I'm just so ugly, disabled and dark skinned. Life is sooooo hard" Sydney and Pearl: everyone has challenges and we need to take accountability for our lives and overcome. Feminists: "these two are whiney babies! We're the strong ones!" ..... WHAT!?!
Pearl tried to keep her from moving the goalpost but she failed.. when the woman kept insisting on the disability thing, she should have just been blunt: "ok let's go. you and a MAN with the same condition, what barries do you have that he does not? I am waiting" the way she was speaking, it seemed like hers was a unique condition to the gender.. dude, let us do the same then.. whenever these discussions come up, let us just focus on homeless people and suicide.. which men dominate.. bam, we are always going to win any discussion
@@b00g3rs21 Well, upon hearing that she referenced the last [somewhat constructive] panel as a setting of expectation, I can see why she went on, though I have to admit, after the year we've had, I find it overly optimistic. I am glad, however, that she experienced just how degraded conversation is in 2022. I have been saying it for over a year now: we have taught an entire generation to NOT think, but rather, just take a stance. This, coupled with the effective dissolution of truth (like random redefining of terms like "woman" mid sentence) renders things like language, and therefore conversation, effectively meaningless. The reality is, the majority of people on that panel were the general portrait of progressive American youth: vapid, self concerned narcissists parroting whatever dogma is most useful to them personally. As such, any combination of those women, no matter how small, would likely devolve into a shouting match based on each of them trying to claim the top spot on the victim totem pole.
I think even the other trans in red that was next to Sydney noticed and what was going on and felt ashamed but obviously if she had said anything, she would be canceled.. so she remained silent but you could see that she did not partake in the crazy laughing girl, the disabled one or the boy girl thing
@@herewegoagain... yea you really nailed the point with how degraded conversation has become. She mentioned seeing the previous segment they did on feminism and how they were actually capable of having a civil discourse. Compared to now, it's really indicative of how deranged proponents of this ideology have become. I was going to suggest vice should have titled this video as: Why everyone should use birth control. Just kidding, kind of.
I had an argument with a Karen the other day... really bad mistake. She asked for proof, I provided proof and after I provided proof, she claims it's all fake and whatnot. I told her then prove it's fake... She just mentioned Photoshop... Okay... that's a program that are used to do such things, but you still haven't proved that what I presented was fake... or back up your claim. It went on and on for nearly 100 replies, back in forth total. Even when they're in the wrong, they try to argue and not admit to it.. and if that doesn't work, try to discredit ya.

That’s the first thing I noticed because embarrassingly it was me 10 years ago. Reading through the comments section on the Vice video it seemed like many felt the same way. I hadn't actually heard of Pearl before this (I may have seen one clip of hers but it was in passing) and I like her.

You want to know why many people (including myself) use the Bible as a source of instruction, learning, and life guides? The book of proverbs is an extremely wise book in the Bible. And proverbs 29 has a line that reads as follows: “If a wise man has an argument with a fool, the fool only rages and laughs, and there is pno quiet. and seek the life of the upright.” Now, tell me this isn’t EXACTLY what we saw happen here with ms cackles in this video here. A book written well over 2000 years ago, still spitting out relevant facts of wisdom today as back then. The only thing that has ever changed about humanity since the dawn of time, is time itself. We as a whole remain unchanged.
As I write this, Sydney has about 100K more views on her video than the Vice video in question and Vice turned off comments on theirs. I think it's amazing how this one twenty-something Australian woman is getting more traction than the corporate media.
I would rather delete my youtube account then giving vice a view honestly Sydney shouldn't have bothered it's not like she got to meet any people capable of conversation
The problem is conversations like this are extremely necessary. Unless we keep clashing with these people, showing and explaining why their ideas don’t make sense and exposing their subsequent behaviors, it won’t stop. When we confront them, we show the world what they really are.
Yeah, Vice just showed how opaque their idea of transparency truly is by shutting off the comments. To me, after watching this video and seeing the original, feminism is dead in my eyes. It has been destroyed like the people of Hiroshima.... only the burnt shadow of its remains remain. I am so disgusted.
I used to see that quote as wisdom. Now I just see it as him giving up ground in a war of ideas. That same philosophy is why the right stopped concerning itself with entertainment and education.

You and Pearl were so respectful and spot on on so many things. The fact that we can't have conversations anymore is beyond frustrating. Even if it was cut short your message came through. Would love to see the both of you do a collab sometime. The looks you both had in this were priceless.
@@Commentator488 Everything you just mentioned you have twisted to fit your own closed-minded view, all of which is easily debunked. All you have to do is actually pay attention and understand what she is saying. Or if you don't like how she expresses those stances, then look into other good sources. 1) Women as a general group are not as good in sports as men, that is the full truth. Why? Because men and women are biologically different and we have different strengths. Just like an average woman could never have an average man's strength, a man could never push a baby out of him because his body isn't built for that. Literally. Argue individual or outlier cases all you want, but the average "perfect" female specimen is not equal to the average "perfect" male specimen when it comes to physical strength. And superior physical strength is exactly what is required to excel in a professional sport. I doubt Pearl would ever say that women aren't good in sports, because she herself is an athlete. 2) Yes. Women who CHOOSE to sleep around and have unprotected sex are to blame for getting pregnant. Now, that's not to say their male partner isn't to blame either. It takes two to tango, but any intelligent woman knows that she has more responsibility in avoiding pregnancy if she so chooses, because only women can get pregnant. Men don't carry the baby... I think that this is an uncontroversial observation to make because in modern-day USA, there is a very blatant hypersexualized culture where irresponsibility and lack of accountability (from both men and women participants) is cultivated. Which is just ironic considering how there are so many fail safes (birth control, condoms, sex education in every public school, even good ol' abstinence), and yet nobody chooses to use them. Which instead leads to the frivolous use of abortion which is not a regular "fail-safe". Whether you believe it's murder or not, there are so many much better, non-invasive/non-surgical options for avoiding pregnancy all together. 3) A child's body is not a woman's body. It is IN its mother's body, sure. It is connected to her, depends on her to grow. Its very cells are formed inside of her. But the baby is not its mother. Why? Because it has it's own unique DNA. The woman's uterus and the umbilical is not a part of the baby, et least not after birth. In fact, the umbilical cord is neither the woman's because it's an internal body part that only exists during a pregnancy. The baby's life starts at its conception the moment the egg inside of the woman is fertilized by the sperm from the man. A powerful process begins that has been closely examined by science. You don't even have to be religious to find that process- the creation of a whole other human being- to be incredibly powerful and fascinating. I myself am agnostic and I fear the pain of pregnancy, but I've heard from plenty of women all my life just how beautiful it is all at the same time. 4) And lastly, all of this is, well, mostly logical actually and observable in real life from the start of human history. But it's also proven by science. You know, basic biology. But I think that what you can't capture, and that conservative women do, is that although women aren't strong in the way that men are, that doesn't make us weak. Because we have our own strengths. And I think that's something that even the earliest feminists recognized. But if you don't believe me, just do your own research! Get out of your bubble, open your mind a bit and start listening to some other people. You don't even have to agree, you just have to be smart and learn to understand other perspectives. I suggest this as someone who grew in the Bay Area, in liberal public school in liberal Cali and who's gen z.

Thank you for renewing my hope for the future! I randomly came across one of your videos and it gave me information new to me. I'll keep watching your channel! I'm a 55-year-old white, heterosexual man and for over a decade I've become increasingly worried about or common future, seeing how the newer misguided, disrespectful and overpowered generations are changing the western world into a society of fear, hatred, misdirection, "alternative facts" and egocentrism. After watching perhaps 12-15 of your videos so far, seeing that there are intelligent women like you in the newer generations, gives me hope for the future. Thank you!

You want to know why many people (including myself) use the Bible as a source of instruction, learning, and life guides? The book of proverbs is an extremely wise book in the Bible. And proverbs 29 has a line that reads as follows:
“If a wise man has an argument with a fool, the fool only rages and laughs, and there is pno quiet. and seek the life of the upright.”
Now, tell me this isn’t EXACTLY what we saw happen here with ms cackles in this video here. A book written well over 2000 years ago, still spitting out relevant facts of wisdom today as back then. As I write this, Sydney has about 100K more views on her video than the Vice video in question and Vice turned off comments on theirs. I think it's amazing how this one twenty-something Australian woman is getting more traction than the corporate media.
With 5 less days uploaded as well. Just another fact.
I would rather delete my youtube account then giving vice a view honestly Sydney shouldn't have bothered it's not like she got to meet any people capable of conversation
Vice is a joke. They turn off the comments when the public reaction is not what they want.
"Don't argue with stupid people. They'll just drag you down to their level. And beat you with experience...." -Mark Twain

You and Pearl were so respectful and spot on on so many things. The fact that we can't have conversations anymore is beyond frustrating. I've experienced a bit of how this panel was with friends of mine, and it always blows my mind that a movement that screams to support each other, instantly bashes you if you don't fit what they want. There is no logic and critical thinking just hostility and acting like toddlers. Loved when you spoke up when Pearl was trying to share her experience. Even if it was cut short your message came through. Would love to see the both of you do a collab sometime. The looks you both had in this were priceless.
I'm glad women like her and Pearl exist. We need more
@@Commentator488 I didn't see her speak over aggressively, behave condescendingly nor laugh like a clown... So yeah, she was plenty respectful.
The lady was using her laughter to cover her insecurity and uncomfortableness. Its a coping mechanism
