  • I was born in Cincinnati. It's still a great town and has really changed over the last 50 years. I only lived there a short while but it's still an anchor of our family tree. The downtown area has a few new buildings, a few refurbished buildings, and a lot of old and historic buildings. It's really a pretty cool place to walk around. We'll see some hotels, restaurants, apartment buildings, fountain square, and a whole lot of office space.

    I confess that Cincinnati is not a place I'd ever considered visiting, but this video makes me want to check it out. Thanks for the walk.

      Yes, I think because it’s in the Midwest. It flies under the radar a bit, but it really is a fun area. Thanks for watching in commenting. - H.

      Cincinnati has more of a southern Appalachian feel to it then Midwest. The farther north you go its more midwest corn fields ect

    Henry! Another excellent walk! I was just on 12th Street to take my Mom to a doctor's appointment. It is definitely a city that can be intimidating for a country gal.
    I had to break this walk up into a couple of sessions, but left off ("book marked" it) at Graeter's Ice Cream and knew I wouldn't forget where to pick back up. Great stuff!🍨
    The beautiful covered walkway with vines was probably my favorite part. Can't remember the business where that was located.🤔
    I'm looking forward to "Over the Rhine" video next!
    Thanks so much for being such a pleasant co-explorer and kind voice that fills our home!
    Until next time....blessings to you, Mel, and kids!

    I live in Covington, KY right across the river from downtown Cincinnati. I've lived on both sides of the river, and honestly, I prefer to live in Covington on the KY side, but I love still being a 5 minute drive to The Banks for a night out! The Cincinnati Metro area is a great place to live. Lots of rich German history in the architecture with a pretty active night life on both sides of the river!

      Hi Tyler, thanks for the comment and local perspective. Cincy is great and has a ton to offer. I really enjoyed walking around such a historic yet uncelebrated city. I’d love to get back and do a walk on your side of the river sometime. Cheers. -H

    lol you walked right by Dixie Terminal without even mentioning it. I worked in that building for years. It was the old streetcar terminal and the inside is a beautifully decorated 3 story arcade made of marble with a huge ornamental ceiling. That's what I love about Cincy is so many of the old buildings are well preserved.

    • @CityWalks

      @CityWalks  5 месяцев назад

      There is so much to do there. Baseball, football, soccer, ice hockey depending on the season. Bike riding, museums, restaurants, music, plays, river tours, and so much more. Cincinnati is very nice itself. Lexington is an hour so south. Louisville is a bit further. Columbus is a ways north and Indianapolis is to the west. There are a ton of great smaller cities and towns as well. -H

    • @aidanschram9652
      @aidanschram9652 2 дня назад

      Unless your country is really terrible, I’d reconsider. The US is glorified too much around the world. It’s an incredibly expensive country and it’s only getting worse and worse. It’s still an okay country, but a lot of people are leaving their countries to come here when they would live a better life in their own country.
