Thank you so much for watching, I loved visiting and filming Tim and Maddy's garden back in the summer! I hope you get as inspired as I am from their beautiful garden. Find out more about their fab magazine here: www.permaculture.co.uk/ ☺️🌱
I adore how proud she is of the peach tree. The giver of those peaches made her feel special and I love that! The gardening community is such a generous and uplifting one.
That’s what struck me most too! And I bet he’s thrilled to have given it to someone who appreciated it and ensures it’s well taken care of. Definitely sounds like a special peach =D
Now seriously, that was a h u g e amount of useful knowledge. Can't wait to apply it in my garden over the years. I saved the video, definitely going to come back to it. Thank you
@@helennightingale9924 I would assume so, there's a lot of debate right now about being able to do so. Traditionally we rotate crops but there's rising evidence that we don't need to do that in gardens that have well tended soil. Depends on the plant of course.
Very inspirational video! Love the Comfrey border. I use Comfrey as a border around the garden area to keep grass from creeping into the gardens, and get the bonus of very rich mulch from the cut Comfrey leaves. The plant that keeps on giving.
FINALLY this answered my question about Pot Marigolds!!!... what a great all around video... camera angles... quality sound... lighting... and filled with useful knowledge.... another great piece HUW....
A lot of serious hard work and hey presto a growing garden oasis! Beautiful. Permaculture adopted by all would save the planet. I don’t have an amazing garden space like this but manage a fair amount in my 3rd floor balcony and living room. Permaculture can be anywhere so get to it folks!
That was a beautiful informative link. Thanks. Really lovely to see stunning permaculture gardens. I came into permaculture via architecture and town planning in the late 1980s. I'm surprised that the gardening aspect now seems to dominate now rather than the social support networks, building and suburban planning, energy flow analysis, transport support, education, food security on a large scale, holistic land management, forest maintenance, financial planning, toxic waste reduction and management ... I'm sure the tide will change and the original topics will be included along side the garden homestead...
Maddy you are a true inspiration. Learned a lot. We love to use marigold in our vege patch as well as sunflower and also love companion gardening. Also love your voice and patience in talking- now days gardeners talk and explain so fast - at least for me. Thank you for sharing good video.
Thank you for sharing Huw I just love the triangular layout of their garden it needs a really tall windmill or structure 😃 right in the middle. It makes our squares look dull but ha next years ideas. Be safe and stay gardening 🇨🇦🧑🌾✌️🥕🌶💐🥬
Thanks for the video. I am at stage where I need to decide the shape of my annual beds. Mine will also be right near the house in full view of my deck so visual appeal is important. Trying to decide between keyhole, rectangular or more organic shape is difficult. Hearing Maddy's comment about rectangular beds has only made the decision more difficult. Lol. Good to hear such an experienced opinion though. I will do your garden planning course soon Huw, maybe that will lead me in a particular direction. Keep up the great content.
Thank you for making this great video. your garden looks amazing, and if I my add. the garden looks like it removes stress from a persons life. just watching it I personally thought wow a cup of coffee in the morning watching the sun come up Sitting in your garden.. how amazing that must feel.
Nice work. I really enjoyed visiting Hampshire. One point though: You're quite correct to be cautious about possible toxins leeching from the railway sleepers, but how about with the large tractor tires for your compost?
Such a stunning garden, it’s so beautiful. I really like the idea of vertical planting. I’ve just been lucky enough to get a half plot at an allotment 😊👍
That is totally awesome! We are looking to re locate to a huge plot of mainly baron land with hardly anything on it at all and turn it into a permacuture wild life haven and for growing crops etc I have done companion planting like Maddy says for nearly 2 decades now and it really is the best way to bee.
So many ideas in this video! I hope eventually my gardens will look something like this. I'm also aiming for potager style as i want the beauty to shine though as well as the practicality. Trouble is I want it now - and this is 20+ years in the making!!!
Thanks!! Huw and OmG I was was.watching this video yesterday and learnt so much . Lately I have got so much interest in permaculture...that's the way it was natural and co existence.
Those peaches looked fantastic! A beautiful yet balanced garden, with great advice. Thanks you for this video, and the little series Huw. They are incredibly inspiring and are really helping me to gear up for this year.
Wow, thank you beautiful lady! This was so fun to watch and so much valuable information. I just purchased three acres here in Texas and hope to create something similar on my own.
this is beautiful! it reminds me of tek (traditional ecological knowledge) and it's honestly so refreshing to see this kind of thing happening with people working WITH the rest of nature instead of against it. this is great :)
Magnificent stunning looks garden, you give us inspiration to start our own home gardening, not only you can consume your freshness organic home grown herbs and vegetables , especially in this pandemic time, you can save money and also self-sufficient living. Love from Australia 😍😍👌👌
Hello, I work as a lecturer for a recycling company and I highly suggest that you do not compost your paper from the office that is covered in ink, as the colours from printers contain very heavy metals like zinc (although in small amounts) that then get transferred to your compost and your vegetables and fruits. Although this just a tip for your health but this is an amazing video overall, very informational and now I want to visit Zegg to see all those beautiful peach trees!

Fantastic, i love the runner beans lean too idea.
Yeah it's so awesome!!
I love this idea too, but does it mean that you grow beans in the same spot every year?

Me too. I really love it.
I can’t wait to go around and take notes from gardens like these. This is my goal to bring to a neighborhood and make it normal
Love this garden and the whole permaculture ethos. I'm going to start small with a couple of beds on my allotment.
I love learning from others who are doing so much with small spaces! Thanks for the inspiration! 🌱
That is an amazing garden design. It looks amazing both from the ground and the air. It's a very creative use of space.

Cool compost bin. I would have never thought of giant tractor tires for that purpose.
But not so eco, unfortunately :(
