This guy's been getting a lot of hate lately. Sure, Forrest Gump might not have aged perfectly, but he also made Roger Rabbit and Back to the Future! And I’m probably one of the few who actually likes his 3D motion-capture movies. Even if they’re not your thing, you have to admit - he was way ahead of his time with those.
Why are people starting to hate on Forrest Gump because that film is probably my favorite movies of all time and I don’t get why people are saying it hasn’t aged well or that it’s bad. Regarding Zemeckis as much as I love his films I think it’s about time he retires from film directing because Zemeckis has been on a downward spiral for a long while, sure occasionally he would put out a pretty decent film such as Flight (2012) or The Walk (2015) but then it would be followed up with a film that’s either mediocre or just flat out awful. And it frustrates me how Here turned because when I first saw the trailer to Here I was admittedly excited because of how interesting the premise was but then I heard that Zemeckis was going to use AI for the film which immediately turned me off since I absolutely hate AI, but I will say this at least Here wasn’t a disastrous train wreck like that live action Disney Pinocchio remake he did.
@ True, but there’s a huge difference between CGI and AI because CGI is made by people and humans whereas AI was made by Robots or computers and lack human input.
he needs to retire. he doesn't have it anymore. he either makes movies based on source material that was already better or movies that are emphasized too much on daft visual effects. we love him for the "back to the future" movies, "flight", "romancing the stone", "who framed roger rabbit?", "death becomes her", "cast away", and "forrest gump" but he's become too reliant on technology that is better off in the hands of younger filmmakers.
Cast Away is one of the most rewatchable movies ever. love it.
Agree! Which is crazy because so much of it is without dialogue and one man on screen. Speaks volume of the film and Mr Tom Hanks.

Zemeckis is a legend. That being said, Here is truly one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
