Summer, you two are doing great going through the battery of tests. Flynn’s grin still lights up the screen when you show him. It reminds me of when he was younger and would pop up behind your chair to say Hi! in your crochet videos. I’m glad you’ve got your hats to work on to keep your hands busy. Just a couple more days and you will be on your way back home. Prayers continue.🙏❤

such a brave little boy! (and mom too!) thank you for sharing what you are both experiencing this week...tomorrow will most likely be a tough day with the bone biopsy. We will all be thinking and praying for Flynnie especially that all this will one day be behind him and he will be able to go on to be a just a 'normal' kid and able to do whatever he wants to do with his pals and school mates, and, of course, his family! What a trooper, well both of you.
When I was 11 yrs old I was showing my cousin how to do a cartwheel (inside). I put my foot through a window and nearly cut it off. I was taken to Yale Hospital in New Haven Connecticut. It was a teaching hospital too and the same thing happened to me. Doctors and residents would come in...the main doctor would spew what medical treatment and surgery I had, they'd look at my foot, and thank me and out the door they'd go. Prayers to Flynn (it's not easy). I'm afraid tomorrow my be painful for him. 😔

Summer everyone is interested in Flynn and his disease process, it's kind cool, but I could see where it could be annoying as well. Felt sad for him and the IV but looks like things are going forward. Love you both and it does look like the 3D puzzle ball will make it maybe Thursday! Fingers crossed.

Years ago I had pneumonia and was at the research hospital. All the doctors came in to see me. Finally one told me that they spent time studying my charts and the visits were just to put a face to the name. One young guy said "wow, you look pretty good - your charts say your close to death." Just remember that everyone of those young doctors will take what they learn to other hospitals - it may make a difference for other young people who can't get a correct diagnosis. Everything they learn from Flynn is more information for others to fight this problem. Hang in there - you are both doing fine!
I am catching up on videos. I'm so sorry it's taken me so long. I understand about the research hospitals. About ten years ago they found 80lbs of infection in my belly that meds wouldn't touch so they went in and took it out. A day after the surgery a doctor asked if the residents could come in and hear about my case and I said yes. I had a before picture which they passed around and about 10 residents came in and listened to the doctor, asked them questions and pretty much ignored me laying in the bed.
You’re both troopers! As a mom it’s not easy to see our sons go through all of this and it must be difficult for Flynn. We spent a week at Mayo with tests everyday. It’s tiring. Did you get to meet the famous doctor? And still no Starbucks?! Prayers! ❤️-Tami
Yes we did. He has been in to see him twice. We even got our picture with him💕
Not strange. It's part of teaching hospital. You can refuse it it starts to bother him to much
Poor buddy, praying he isn’t completely traumatized by the audience he has that’s so interested in him. My son was in a similar situation when he was 5yrs old and the public wanted to know all there was to know about him and his disease. He is now 32 yrs old and better than ever.
He seems pretty unbothered by the visitors. We have him working with a counselor and an adult he looks up to at school. We are try our best to protect his mental health as well!
What a hard week for you both. Flynn is so cooperative. Prayers!
Thinking and Praying for you both. Summer when I had serious pregnancy issues and had to go to Univ of Virginia medical center -- they walked the residents thru like you are on display. It is frustrating. Can't they look at the pics that professional photographer took? They did the same at Shriners Hospital- but not as much....

Yes I do 80 stitches and the knit 5 inches from the brim. Then I start the decrease. It fits a 2nd grader perfectly!!
