Help my problem occured after dropping my controller. when i fly higher than head hight or far away from me it says no signal. Would a range extender fix this problem
Hi Lewis..Pardon me for intruding, but I think a new controller would solve your problem. When and if you do replace it, follow the procedure Alex Savo did on his video. Perhaps a wire got loose when you dropped it. I would take it apart and see if anything is lose then reconnect it or solder it if you have those skills.

hey, Glad u have a solution but I'm not entirely clear on the process. first, I have used my phantom 3 a few times and just ran in to this. it required two updates which showed success. then I have the disconnected issue. I'm not seeing the exact location of that light that you are but I see a light and reset button. can u provide a step by step? any order of power up? when to push the reset? is it during the remote connect count down? I've tried every way with no reconnect. appreciate it.

Good afternoon, I have a drone as mentioned above and would like to know if it is common that the video transmitter to crash in sending signal. At times the camera works, in others not. My biggest concern is that the device is lost in flight. I know of others who had the same problem and it was not firmware or quad incompatibility with the radio. If you can help with any information already required.
Thanks for this video! Hopefully this helps me, I just go my first DJI drone for Christmas today. I have about a min of flight stopped bc I was in my house. Then I realized there was software update so of course, I updated then it starts saying no connection or something. So hopefully this helps me.

I had a firmware Update 3 days ago, am able to start flying etc but have a lot of lost signals whilst in the air (17 times this morning) do you think re-linking the controller might help?

Hey Alex, so when I buy my phantom if this happens just go into the app hit the wifi button up top go into the menu and do a set up and end up pushing the button on the bottom of the quad.

I have my phantom 3 standard in the air then i fly it for about 200m and it comes up with image transmission signal lost or signal weak in red at the top. It shouldn't be doing this as it have further distance. I don't want to ignore it then for the drone to lose connection and drop out the sky or just stay there and not move. Although I cannot comment for the iOS version of the app, I can say the android app has been updated and having flown today, it's fixed. I have not had a no signal problem. So I do believe it's app based.
I got my phantom a while ago and i have not flown it for about 3 months, it was a nice weekend so i decided to fly it again and i get the no rc signal thing, i restarted it re pared it to no avail, I am also unable to update the firmware due to the no signal error, any fixes? ps. I have not crashed it and have only flew it 4 times.
Alex Savo So, unpacking it goes well etc.. I charge the remote and battery. Turn the remote on and turn the quad battery on, all seems well. Set up DJI account and the app is fully installed. The gimbal works fine so do the motors. The next step is where it gets tricky. I try to connect the tablet (android tablet, running a suitable release of android) but it is very temperamental at finding the Phantoms wifi to even connect to. After at least 12 minutes of trying to connect to the Phantoms wifi I finally achieve it. The app stays open in camera mode for a few seconds then dies due to loss of wifi. This goes on for around 45 minutes, by which point the tablet wont even recognise that the Phantom is producing wifi. I've tried it with 3 other devices that should work and they all fail to work with it. I've even tried to find it on wifi from other systems but to no avail. Taking it back to the hobby shop tomorrow to see what they say...
I'm sorry to hear of the problem. Try not to think of that lense just yet. So I take it that it's the drop out of WiFi only? Hopefully its a simple fix and replacement kit.
Alex Savo I'm not fussed out about the lens yet..... Yes, the only issue with it was the wifi, but then again that is the main feature of it so it's going back.
I don't know if you are still active here but when I press the linking button in the app and proceed to press the link button on the drone itself, it just stays red. RC signal lost all the time :(

ikonane I deleted the app on my phone and let it update and that fixed it. I had downloaded the app before getting the drone (Don't know if that makies any difference) but I wasn't eeven able to get it off the ground so I don't know if a re-download will be of use... but you could try :)
That is a mystery, Why would it loose bing to the quad? Well I guess as long as you have bound them and all is well, it is no big deal. I would make sure it is bound and working good for several seconds before each flight.
+bilal hussain it is most likely the phone your using. You may need to uninstall the app or if you use an android phone, I found forcing the app to stop and starting it again worked.

I just got my phantom 3 standard 0n 5-6-16 I have not had it in the air yet, the JDI go said I had to update the malware,, so I did now it will do nothing but BEEP, BEEP, BEEP ,from the phantom,,,Nothing that DJI support told me to do has helped they said it has to be defected and now next week I'm sending it to them, They said they will fix it or get me another one
+keith wagner it will keep beeping even after finishing installing firmware. The app will tell you when it's done. Then to stop the beeping you just turn the p3 off.
THX SO MUCH, it happned to me when I failed a firmware update... I feel stupid for I cant do it, and I have done it before, but it seem I cant get opned the binfile right. I need help to setup firmware and most Videos about that is VERY OLD, and not much new. I failed it 3 times now, formatted my cards right after, but the problem would seem I cant open the binfile so I can put whats there to a folder on my pc and then back to my card in the DJI. I update using the DJI's own cardreader, I do not see what use there is in a USB when all can be done with the card in the machine and update of Controller too. But I cant seem to open that, so, I'm 2tally noobish :/
Also if you try to make a DVD you will not be pleased with the quality. I had a client tell me it was unacceptable. This is because the sony codec is not up to standard for printing to DVD's.
People - Your Prayers Have Been Answered - Right Here: If you get the message "disconnected" when you plug your DJI Phantom 3 Professional (and likely many other similar models including the Inspire etc.) then simply unplug your USB cable from the back of the Radio Controller (the thing you use for flight controls), then plug it back in. It's that simple. It has worked every time. No one on you-tube or DJI seemed to have an answer for this. Thought wi-fi interference might be the problem, then electrostatic interference, or maybe my Android table wasn't compatible - just got this thing, spent a bundle on it - and all I got was "disconnected" message. IMPORTANT: Do this: 1. Load the DJI app. But don't launch it yet. 2. Start your drone (without blades on it) just power it up.3. Power up your RC (the controller)4. Plug in the cable.5. THEN launch the DJI Pilot app (even though it's not called the "pilot" app anymore, just the "dji go" or whatever.6. If you get this annoying message "Disconnected" - - then simply - at that point, while the app is running and everything is powered up - - then, just reach behind your RC and pop out that USB cable, - - wait a sec or two, then plug it back in. Please let me know - would love to hear your THANK YOU's!! how it worked out for you.And go to www.greatsongs.ca and maybe by a song or two!! Cheers
I had the same problem and I did contact DJI and they told me to send my unite in and I did and they sent me a new phantom 3 professional phantom back.
the best fix. .. send it back to DJI .. I tried everything else and still couldn't get mine to act right .. called DJI and got a RMA to send back for them to fix it

+Lewis Sinclair sounds like you may have damaged it. Plastic range extenders will improve but you should still be getting some decent distance.

i held it down for like 20 seconds and nothing happened. still blinking red , camera has live view but it says no signal.

+Alex Savo well I did that, sorted me out for one flight where I could go 120m up and 200m away over a lake with no issue with no issues.
My controller is not able to move my kimball, I turn the drone on and the kimball goes limp? how could I resolve this?

Yes basically. Only came up the other day when I did the latest firmware update. Two previous ones, there was no issue.

+gamer person You should be able to do firmware update. Do you have control of the aircraft or just lossof video feed?
I have video feed just no communication with the aircraft.

I can not understand which button on aircraft you are talking about - there is no button.
+Exploring Namibia turn on your scout. Turn it on its back and your see a small light on. That's the reset button.

What if the reset button on the unit is broken
If its broken I can only suggest that it goes back to DJI.

I update using the DJI's own cardreader, I do not see what use there is in a USB when all can be done with the card in the machine and update of Controller too. But I cant seem to open that, so, I'm 2tally noobish :/

Also if you try to make a DVD you will not be pleased with the quality. I had a client tell me it was unacceptable. This is because the sony codec is not up to standard for printing to DVD's.

People - Your Prayers Have Been Answered - Right Here: If you get the message "disconnected" when you plug your DJI Phantom 3 Professional (and likely many other similar models including the Inspire etc.) then simply unplug your USB cable from the back of the Radio Controller (the thing you use for flight controls), then plug it back in. It's that simple. It has worked every time. No one on you-tube or DJI seemed to have an answer for this. Thought wi-fi interference might be the problem, then electrostatic interference, or maybe my Android table wasn't compatible - just got this thing, spent a bundle on it - and all I got was "disconnected" message. IMPORTANT: Do this: 1. Load the DJI app. But don't launch it yet. 2. Start your drone (without blades on it) just power it up.3. Power up your RC (the controller)4. Plug in the cable.5. THEN launch the DJI Pilot app (even though it's not called the "pilot" app anymore, just the "dji go" or whatever.6. If you get this annoying message "Disconnected" - - then simply - at that point, while the app is running and everything is powered up - - then, just reach behind your RC and pop out that USB cable, - - wait a sec or two, then plug it back in. I had the same problem and I did contact DJI and they told me to send my unite in and I did and they sent me a new phantom 3 professional phantom back.

the best fix. .. send it back to DJI .. I tried everything else and still couldn't get mine to act right .. called DJI and got a RMA to send back for them to fix it
+contactpq it's certainly the plan for those in the US, but the UK does not have an official DJI returns centre which is annoying.
