Correction: And I knew this already. Early metal parts were chrome plated and that's why you sometimes see corrosion and rust. Not that stainless can't rust after 80 years. Needed to be said.

That was actually a star I made from thick copper wire. Sadly it didn't last long :(
@@xetaprime thank you for responding. I diyed a coat hanger heat diffuser and according to reddit commenter it works really well. I havent tried it yet tho. What are you using now as a heat diffuser now?

There's a fun old video called Let's Make a Sandwich. It's where I saw that double boiler for the first time. Will try and do something like that tomorrow.
