He would probably be playing further out. But a guy who can effortlessly convert a 7'1" frame into a 13 + foot block would negate a lot of 3-pointers. I've noticed that Wilt didn't focus on his dunks, because they came so naturally to him. But you can see that he loved getting into the air to deny a shot. He would RULE the court in today's game in offense and defense. So essentially, nothing would change except we would acknowledge the blocked shots.

    • @stvarnonevjerovatno3700

Especially today, similar pace, no defence, and ref protection for offense - he would average 60 (at least) and 20. Imagine him against this years Hornets or Wizards. That 100 record would be broken in both on stamina alone.

Would Wilt Chamberlain’s Playing Style Fit into the NBA Today?
Wilt Chamberlain, often regarded as one of the most dominant players in NBA history, left an indelible mark on the game. His playing style, athleticism, and scoring abilities set him apart during his era. But how would Wilt Chamberlain fare in today’s fast-paced, three-point-heavy NBA? Let’s break it down.
    The Big Dipper’s Dominance
Wilt Chamberlain was a force to be reckoned with. Standing at 7 feet 1 inch tall and possessing incredible athleticism, he dominated the game in various ways:
    1. Scoring Machine: Wilt was a prolific scorer. He averaged an astonishing 30.1 points per game over his career, including a jaw-dropping 50.4 points per game in the 1961-62 season. His scoring ability was unmatched, and he could score from anywhere on the court.
    2. Rebounding Beast: Chamberlain owned the boards. He led the league in rebounds for 11 seasons, pulling down an average of 22.9 rebounds per game throughout his career. His combination of size, timing, and agility allowed him to control the glass.
    3. Shot-Blocking Wizard: Wilt’s shot-blocking prowess was legendary. He swatted away opponents’ shots with ease, intimidating anyone who dared to attack the rim. His presence altered offensive strategies, forcing opponents to think twice before challenging him.
    How Would Wilt Fit Today?
    Strengths:
    1. Physical Dominance: Wilt’s size and strength would still be assets in today’s NBA. He could overpower opponents in the paint, especially in one-on-one situations. His ability to finish around the rim would translate well.
    2. Rebounding: With his rebounding skills, Chamberlain would feast on the boards. His knack for positioning and timing would make him a valuable asset in securing second-chance opportunities.
    3. Shot-Blocking: Wilt’s shot-blocking ability would disrupt opponents’ offensive flow. He’d be a rim protector, altering shots and deterring players from driving to the basket.
    Challenges:
    1. Three-Point Shooting: The modern NBA emphasizes three-point shooting. Wilt attempted only 25 three-pointers in his entire career, making just one. To thrive today, he’d need to develop a reliable outside shot.
    2. Pace and Space: The game is faster-paced now, with more ball movement and spacing. Wilt’s dominance came in an era of slower play. Adjusting to the speed and constant motion would be crucial.
    3. Defensive Switching: Teams switch defensively frequently today. Wilt would need to adapt to guarding perimeter players, which wasn’t his forte. His lateral quickness might be tested.
    Rule Changes:
Wilt Chamberlain’s impact extended beyond his playing style. His athleticism led to rule changes:
    1. Goaltending and Offensive Basket Interference: Wilt’s shot-blocking prowess forced the NBA to modify these rules. His ability to block shots near the basket made it necessary to protect offensive players.
    Conclusion:
While Wilt Chamberlain’s physical gifts and dominance would still shine in today’s NBA, he’d face challenges adapting to the modern game. His scoring, rebounding, and shot-blocking would make him a force, but he’d need to evolve his game to fit seamlessly into the league. Regardless, the Big Dipper’s legacy remains etched in basketball history.

      @RobertSchuster68 5 месяцев назад

@@iess2006 it doesn’t matter how god you are, you are only been remembered as winner, when you win titles. Anything else is just Art. Simple as that.
Wilts problem was the team he had around him, and the structure of the other teams. He was an amazing center. Jordans luck was, that he was the drughorse of the internationalization Strategie of the young commissioner David Stern. He was the leader of an holistic movement of the power from centers to quick and spectacular Guards. Jordan was not only skilled, he also controlled his team, his coach, the refs, the opponents franchise player, the media …. and with whom he was sharing his success in the dream team … and Jordan brought ingame story telling on whole new level. Usually every game was following the same Methode. First two quarters the bullsteam carried the game, and usually was around 10 points behind. Than in the 3rd quarter Jordan was getting free hand, took over, usually destroyed his opponents, and was more or less creating the Fundament for the win. And if it was necessary he took the game winning shot. That’s why we old NBA Fans who watched all his games, remember him as the #1 influence for the win. Jordans words to his coach „There is no „I“ in Team, but there is „I“ in winning“ reflects that all. From the moment he stepped into the NBA, he turned the Bulls from a team of crack losers into a dynamite. The crowing rate of the Jordan Brand reflects all this story telling. That’s why still his retros are selling well. Sorry to say, Wilt was a skilled Center, and he could have also been strong in Jordans era … it would have been the ultimate fight from center to guard …

Okay let's talk about wilt I was born and raised in Philadelphia I am a huge Wilt Chamberlain fan I have been watching him since I was 10 years old I used to go down to the spectrum and watch the 76ers play watching him was like watching a man playing against boys he scored more points in his first 6 years than most players scored in their entire career and and the next 7 years to his retirement he concentrated on defense they talk about Bill Russell this Bill Russell that no disrespect to Bill Russell wilt has more rebounds and more block shots the 1967 Philadelphia 76ers were one of the greatest teams in NBA history and I watch every single series if they needed 50 points from him he gave it to them he was rebounding like crazy that year in one game he grabbed 41 rebounds which is the NBA record for a playoff game there's not enough room for me to say how many records he has players from today make me laugh they say if I was around during that time I would have did the same thing wilt did the season where he averaged 50 points and 25 rebs if a player today would say if I was back then I would have scored more rebound more totally Ludacris that means a player would have had the average 75 to 80 points a game and close to 50 rebounds a game they must be on a different planet or daydreaming he was the greatest athlete in NBA history if you discussing the goat of the NBA it would be ridiculous to compare anyone else with Chamberlain if you're going by overall stats no one even comes close he would have dominated in any era at any time he was too athletic and two strong for any center at any time in history

I'll be the devils advocate here...I once heard a wise man say, greatness finds a way to win. I get that Wilt was leaps beyond most of the talent in his time but Wilt wouldn't be much better, if at all, than someone like Anthony Davis now. Take AD and put him in the league in the 60's and we'd be watching grainy video of the once great Anthony Davis. Watching Wilt clips always annoys me. So little effort, barely any handles, but yes...great use of his frame...if people missed shots as often as they did in the 60's we would have more rebound powerhouses. Wilt makes my top 10 but prime Shaq...I think sits Wilt down.
