Isn't it typical once you go outside to relax the warden rushes to cut the grass. I love Poppy has her own chair! Isn't it funny that during lockdown we had great weather but once we go away it changes. I always get the comment "You should have been here last week!" Hope you are still enjoying your first tour,Keep Safe, Guy.
The best bit about the site is the Brown Cow pub. We cancelled out Caravan Club membership after the way the Wardens we treating disabled people and dog owners. Even after complaining to the club themselves nothing was done. I would never go back to its park ageing unless the old wardens have gone. I remember once going to the site and there was a fatal crash on the motorway in which a small boy sadly died. The warden called us and said just to let you know there has been a bad crash on the motorway and if you turn up later that 7:30 due to this, don't bother as you will not be let in.... I said about the boy losing his life and the heartless women said, I don't care, the gate will be closed at 7:30.
We have similar issues with the wardens at this site. There's always an issue with something and they take great pleasure to keep coming over with problems. Have complained numerous times to the club and nothing is done. Tina in the Brown cow pub says the male warden in particular is like this with most of the guests so beggars belief why he is still there.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo We left the club after a number of complaints regarding this site and the wardens. The club never did anything about it. 4 times we had run-ins with the wardens. I asked once for a disabled spot close to the toilets. When we got to the site a sign was up saying disabled only so we set up (after the lady warden told us it was ok). Then the old male warden came over fuming, saying take its awning down and move your caravan. I just laughed and said why? He told me that the spot was reserved for his friends family who wanted this pitch as it was close to the toilets. The lady warden came over and told him it was ok. Turns out his friend had no disability so could have pitch anywhere.
Like you,I have been touring for a few years now. Like you also, I am retired. My wife and I have a rule, we don’t move on Friday,Saturday or Sunday. Moving days are Monday to Thursday inc. Much better for your wellbeing.
Watched this video again last night after getting back from Burrs. We really enjoy your posts. Hi to yourself, Jenny and Poppy from myself, Anthony and Gizmo. X
It's amazing how each C&MC site differers, the last 3 sites we have been on this week have a numbered pitch wrist band for each adult where you put the band on 2/3 hooks which give you the restricted for facility block this allows access which allows for social distancing, once hooks are full you have to wait for someone to come out.
We had the same problem getting into Hawes on Sunday after negotiating what seemed like thousands of bikers! The wristband system at Hawes had four pegs to put your band on, if there was no empty pegs you had to wait till someone came out and removed their band, which was fine until two or three folks forget to remove their band! This happened at the ladies and the queue had to wait till one lady came out after having a long shower we think!
we have just got back from thr CMHC site In looe Cornwall and used our own facilities for our 2 week stay. No queing at all, why do people shy away from useing their own on board facilities.
Do you always have your shopping delivered? I never use delivery from a supermarket. I much prefer to shop myself and take it home. I have a camper I built myself and want to add an awning and side tent.
Be very interested in seeing a little more about the awning tension pole, we have one but not sure about the attachment to the van itself. Any info greatly appreciated.. Thanks and enjoy the tour.
Certainly more people about... some crazy parking going on, and those potholes!😮 I said exactly the same as Jenny, regarding the number plate..already changed from caravan to Motorhome mode, after less than a fortnight owning one! 😂 Glad to see Poppy in her own outside chair... but where was her beer? 😂 Looking forward to the next visit. 👍🏻
Hi, I’m just back from Durham Grange where they seem to be operating a different system for the facilities. I didn’t use them but they gave out wrist bands with your pitch no on it on checking in . Only 2 people allowed in the toilet block at a time so you put your band in the Milton on entry and retrieved it on exit. If there were already 2 bands in the bucket then you had to wait. It looks like they sent the staff a load of bands and left them to invent their own systems 😁
Bob, does the Colapz waste pipe fit onto your outlet without any kind of adaptor? I have a Bessacarr that is the previous incarnation of the Kontiki Sport with the same outlet as yours.
Blimey, that looked absolute chaos heading in there, a very tight squeeze! Nice once you’re in though! We are booked there in October so I’m hoping it won’t be so bad then. Great seeing you out on site again 👍
Wonderful little site. I remember the site being constructed and setting on the committee for the construction of the little station “Burrs Halt”. Shame the East Lancashire Railway isn’t running yet....soon I hope. Enjoy yourself!!!
At least you were on the way past sort of to get your things , Did Poppy think she was going back home :) No one is policing all this parking on double yellows no more, plus no big events are on as most any one can have is 30 people. I can imagine people not hand sanatizing etc at the facilitys so motor home is getting its full use.How was the toilet disposal facility's ? Hope your all having a great trip
By pure chance I watched your video tonight, I was amazed by your comment about the Carlight caravan on site. I am from just south of Gloucester and on wednesday travelled to view a Carlight caravan near Lancaster which I have now bought. While looking at the van the owner told me he had been to Burrs Country Park. I have messaged him and he did in fact have a conversation with you, what a coincidence.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo hi ,,i have the same awning ,,i dont seem to have any rafter ? did you buy that separate or did it come with it ? i think mine needs a brace in the middle ,,thanks
I can see how that could catch people out , not forgetting of course you can transfer reg plates as long as the vehicle is not older than the reg you are transferring. Lovley video hoping to go out in our caravan next month all being well. although we prefer CL's to large sites.
We had same problems going to carsington water up that steep hill on Sunday about 20 caravans and motorhomes in front of us but warden work it very well they had 80 arrivals that day
You probably haven't noticed but the decal on your habitation door looks like someone is peeping around the inset window. Is it the God of thunder Thor. (The eye is visible and a section of the face) or am I just getting lock down crazy..........
Another great video showing approach to site and new ways of working in these strange times👍. Am I right in thinking you only roll the awning out a max 1 meter before dropping legs to support weight while rolling out further? Thanks again for the videos👍.
Haha I made the same thought about the caravan number plate 🙃 and i swear the lawnmower guy is following you 😁 Just wondering if/when you use your jacks/prop stands for the rear of your motorhome?
We are in Southport CMC and have forgotten the tv but we’re not going home for it. Oddly bread and shampoo are widely available throughout the UK. Anyway have fun.
Hi Bob & Jenny liked your video we stayed last year at Royal Vale. And the following month at Burrs park but while we stayed it was heavy rain all week end made a error we parked in the same spaces as you did the power lines collected the water and during the night loud thunder as the water fell from the power line onto the roof of the caravan wakening us up in the early hours but it was nice to watch the steam train passing during the day
I was thinking about your tassimo with regards forgetting something. Kitchen one died, so easy - borrow mo ho one, and it is not on your list (previous conversation). Maybe you should have a thumbnail against things from home?
Just a bit too long driving in the video for my liking. Just fast fwd to best clips. Doesnt really add interest. As one road looks like many others unless scenery is good. Video would be 10minutes Cheers from old George....
No need for this abysmal parking use the proper parking facilities to be honest after seeing this I’d rather go elsewhere, my wife detests queuing and would have just said let’s go somewhere else and begin our break stress free

I know, the weather has become typical not tropical since lockdown lifted.
Lovely just lovely.

Not sure I would have left the club for problems with particular wardens though.
Still in the club after 10 years and quite happy to visit other sites. Its a shame as the site is just down the road from my mum.

Can’t beat a relaxing drive in the countryside.
Thanks true, but here on a Sunday!
Lovely relaxing end to a high tension arrival, all those cars!!! Looks like the refreshments were well deserved.

A wise idea, not been a problem until last Sunday though.
I have booked here for the bank holiday coming great to see your vlog Bob and Jenny

Thank you.
Looks like you're glad to be back on site guys. We love watching your vids keep up the great work.
We certainly are, thanks.
this was my very first site when we had the caravan my first time towing a van nice site and the markets good too
Yes, lots to do there
Thanks for sharing that ! Heard the entrance road was bad so that's decided it for us 🙄🙄

Yes, there seem to be about three main systems now, I haven't used any of them!
You two are looking very well , having a lockdown break must suit you .
Another site we haven't made it to, but its on the list, thanks for sharing🙂 Mark
Thank you for sharing your trip though I am sure my husband would have been fuming having to drive and wait, he has little or no patience 🧑🏻🦳🥂
That makes two of us.
Now 3 of us
Bet a lot of places are going be gridlocked .. we went week end but local for first run .. Awesome time .. cheers Chris & Sam
We're booked into Burrs October half term (if it doesn't go into lock down), do you leave the site the same way that you arrive?
Yes, but don't worry, won't be as busy as this was!

Hi bob and Jenny great video have a great day
I didn't realize how big and up to date that site was as I live in Bury I never bothered to look
It is a good site
Hi Bob and Jenny I know this is a older video but can you remember what the internet signal is like at Burrs? EE/o2? Thank you :)
I thinks it's fairly good if I remember correctly.

We have had our shopping delivered for many years. It has been handy during the Lockdown.
Perfect just what you both needed, enjoy x♥️💙
Im Canadian and I keep thinking, get over on the left lain! lol
That was ridiculous trying to get into the site road. Like your T-shirt Bob

The third type of wristband system I've heard about.
Bob, does the Colapz waste pipe fit onto your outlet without any kind of adaptor? I have a Bessacarr that is the previous incarnation of the Kontiki Sport with the same outlet as yours.
Yes, ours is a fairly standard 29.5mm outlet, no adapter needed.
Thanks.

What car did you have before the up?
Blimey, that looked absolute chaos heading in there, a very tight squeeze! Nice once you’re in though! We are booked there in October so I’m hoping it won’t be so bad then. Great seeing you out on site again 👍
Should be a lot quieter especially if you don't arrive on a sunny Sunday.
Admit it you were so excited at getting out and about in the van that’s why you forgot stuff 😂
There is that, we really wanted to get going!

The toilet disposal points are very clean, I used gloves, some of them have hand sanitisers, so all good.
