Looking forward to episode 5. Episode 4 was dark and pretty much all about how depressing everyone’s lives are both at home. I don’t mind getting to know the characters but glad that episode is out of the way. 5 should be a good episode. I’m still very much enjoying this show.

Thank you. Episode 4 seemed a bit slow with the exception of the glimpses we got of Navarro and her mental health. Discussion’s about her mom. Her sister’s suicide. The way she went berserker and discussion with Danvers case where something happened that she denies or does not remember because of the way she zones out.

It might make sense that Peter shoots that gun bc there's that other teaser shot of someone cleaning up blood at Danvers' home.

  • @simonezoe

My guess - If Hank is up to no good, and Pete has suspicions about him, he could be tailing his dad. (Suspicions that may have been caused by whatever info Pete found out about Hank, that Danvers was later trying to shut down). Pete could watch Hank break into Danvers’ house looking for the Annie K evidence box Pete took from Hank. And he’s found by his son & confronted about whatever Hank is involved in. Hank threatens, Pete pulls his gun. A struggle ensues, the gun goes off, killing Hank. It’d be his blood on the hall floor. Pete disposes of the body (in the scene from a previous trailer) on the ice.

First of all, I didn't see seasons 1,2, and 3. I just got HBO earlier last year (2023). Eveyone keeps saying that they're disappointed with this season and it's mostly filler. I'm not plus I'm happy to have the flash backs since I didn't see previous seasons. Every episode has had me enthralled and on the edge of my seat. I've heard many theories about who/what the killer is and why. The latest has Navarro as the killer and explains why they think so. They made some really good points. I hope they're wrong because I like Navarro.
Last episode I came up with a theory of my own. I think that there is more than one killer and they each have a different reason. I believe the miners were involved. Trying to cover up what awful things they are doing to poison the water. That's why they killed Annie K. I believe she found proof in the ice cave and that's why they kilked her. I also think Hank was paid to cover the whole thing up. That's why he took the files home and then got so angry when Peter took them. I think the research facility has been experimenting with things they shouldn't, therefore causing the locals to have hallucinations. I think sound has a big part to do with it. Something they are transmitting thru radio waves. Has anyone else noticed that Danvers is always listening to what sounds like static? Why? I think Peter kills Hank. Danvers has taken Peter under her wing, showing him the ropes and turning him into a great detective. Also acting as somewhat of a parent figure. (I don't think he and Danvers are having or have had a sexual relationship. I know it seems that she sleeps with everyone but not him. I think he feels a special kind of loyalty towards her. I digress, I never heard what happened to Peter's Mother but was under the impression that spousal abuse was involved and she just up and left one day. Leaving Peter vehind to suffer his Father's wrath. If thats the case, I think Peter/Danvers finds out that Hank killed Peter's Mother. Peter loses it and shoots Hank at Danver's house. She then helps him clean up the mess and dispose of the body. There are so many secrets on this show that one more won't make any difference. That's my theory. I could be totally wrong.
Before I sign off could anyone answer a few questions for me? How did Danver's husband and child die? Why is Danvers always listening to static? Do you think thet Navarro's mother not telling her, her Nubiak (sp.) name has some significance? Lastly, did anyone else notice that when Navarro had her vision of Danver's little boy, that the word "Dreams" was spelled backwards on his pajamas? This has to mean something. But what?

Sooo far I've loved everything except the characters (and a few other things, lolol).
The story's great. The S01 opening was stellar! 'She's awake!'
The characters however are a real weakness. Even the ghost/ spirit characters are s***! Do they really need that stupid-ass voice? Do they need to just scream looking horrific? Weak-ass ghosts! The most interesting (and least annoying) character is Rose, but you'll be lucky to see more than 5 minutes of her per episode
And Jodie Foster, Danvers, she's just a grumpateer sex addict who also likes fantasy football and hates the Beatles. Damn, what a waste of a perfectly good Jodie Foster!
I mean seriously, how do we go from Rust's character to this s*** show of characters? Even Frank (from S02) had his nonsensical idioms.
Don't misinterpret, i love it! The story is dope... its story driven bros an sisses! But what makes a good charter is a philosophy like that of Rusts! Why can't we have interesting characters?? Facial piercings, fantasy football, mail-order brides, the man-boy/cop workaholic, the Inuit (just there to Inuit seriously), the mad scientist to errr mad scientist... yeaaaaah.
Stellar cast, great atmosphere,. great soundtrack (minus that Billy song), I, unlike Danvers am a Beatles/ Ferris Bueller's Day Off fan!
I digress, can't wait for the, wait, final 2? Say, whaaaaat? 2 episodes? Ha-ha, f*** you too HBO!
I think it's very supernatural this season so it better darn well see it though! Please dont backtrack on us now, give us a lovecraftian crescendo into the supernatural, you've been polar bear spoon feeding us don't stop now🐻‍❄️🐻‍❄️🐻‍❄️!
Oh and "she's awaaaake"!!! Nonono, my kitties awake, she needs her kibble and tuna, must crack on🐱🐈‍⬛ - talk to the paw 🐾!

Literally like if they were going to lean into the super natural and horror element you’d think they’d get better production value and maybe change up some of the looks of these “ghosts” I feel like I’ve seen every single one of them in another movie before, terribly cliche designing there unfortunately.

Peter maybe found info re Wheeler's murder by Navarro &/or Danvers

  • @GorgeouslyStupidThing
    @GorgeouslyStupidThing 7 месяцев назад

I'll bet Prior has drawn a gun on his dad, Hank. Hank has seemed suspicious from the beginning, is violent, Danvers & he butt heads (maybe as she knows his secrets & is hiding them, like she has done with Navarro & the shooting of Wheeler) & that pulling-the-heartstrings scene of him lonely & broken-hearted waiting for his fiancé to step off the plane was a means to bring sympathy & plot deflect for a probable killer.
The quick scene with Prior telling his wife to just admit she never wanted her son explains a lot of his being away from home & might speak to their knowledge of the water causing birth defects as their son Darwin (interesting choice) seems learning disabled. Interesting that when the indigenous women get together, Darwin in never present (but Liz's "adopted daughter" is... we've only seen him hiding underneath a table.
I don't know what's going to happen & seem to know less as the episodes go on, but I think Navarro will die due to her descent into mental illness, perhaps sacrificing herself for one of the aboriginals. And, of course, whitey bad, so somehow all the whites will be found guilty of anything, everything, simply existing.

If you throw all the season one lore out the window as a massive red herring then 2 things,
First, the creative team is screwed for resorting to easy and cheap plot devices as not so subtle subterfuge; they will get absolutely destroyed by critics and stans of season one because of it
Second, its a mundane killer thats messed up from the past somehow and is covering up Annie's killing and the scientists because they are connected.
Not going to be any law enforcement personnel,
that leaves somebody that's in plain sight but not likely from what we've seen..
      Qavik
      Nobody else makes any sense.
The other suspects are all too easy and have been thrown in the viewers faces just like the season one red herrings.
There had better be some brilliant stuff coming in the next two episodes or this season is straight trash.
