I love your tips, thank you !I'm turning 50 this MAY 2020 I've made it my mission to see how much strength and stamina I can regain. Your tips are very helpful and I see the advantage of doing glute activation exercises and doing them properly! People who workout at home may not know they are doing a exercise wrong, like me! My biggest issue is I haven't slept well for several years. I'm also scrawney and no longer have a lot of stamina or strength. I'm 5'5
115 lbs of skin and bones. 5 years ago I suddenly lost around 30 lbs while trying to figure out my diet and haven't been able to put weight back on. I'd like to put on 8-10 lbs of lean muscle over the next year or two. Getting the best bange for my buck so to speak with exercise, is important to me. Thanks again, I'll be checking out more of your videos.

I've been doing the glute activation, and it has helped so much. It's helped lessen basic pain from workours but it has helped strengthen my glutes from a hip injury from 2008. These are so necessary.

so glad I found your channel. As someone who has been hobbled by a torn labrum for a decade. Your detail to how to do these exercises correctly (point toe down on side leg lifts, push hips forward on clamshells), has been invaluable to actually doing these correctly and actually improve my glute activation. THANK YOU

Hi! @redefiningstrength idk if you will ever see this buuut I am so thankful to you!
I bought your 28 day Booty Burner Challenge because I was doing research on my "glute amnesia" (or whatever you want to call it) and HOLY COW! It's amazing! 😍 It burns so much (but thats a good thing!) I was always quad dominant because my body was taking the easy way out. Today I did your "Side lying series" and it was the very first time I was able to feel my glute med. 🥺 I think it's going to help my "saddlebags" too! Thank you so much! 🙌🍑

Ive been dealing with poor glute activation for more than a few years, now, and associated hip/lower back pain. I jus found your video and had to stop watching, briefly, ( Though, I'll definitely get back to it), just to say that you do an immensely better job explaining the exercises, how to properly do them, what they accomplish, and how they work than did both physical therapists that I was sent to by my regular health care provider. I never felt they cared about really correcting any problems as much as rushing me through a process of giving activities designed to make me think I was doing something while I "rested" from normal activities for months (loosing fitness) and, eventually, giving in to the idea that I would be in pain the rest of my life and unable to be as active as I'd like. Thank you.

I'm trying to become a better frisbee golfer and a key ingredient to throwing further is getting the hips to fire at the correct time. So this will help me put more into my throw. But even if I didn't have a selfish, egocentric reason for watching your videos, I would watch all of the them all of the time because it is so refreshing to see someone who really believes in themselves and what they are saying. And yes, I use hand gestures when I talk on the phone and I think you probably do this too.

Great video, thanks for sharing. One note on the way you've demo'd the Clam: you may get compensation with QL, particularly in women and in the eccentric phase while lowering which limits the functional activation change. This can be overcome by having the upper body in the side lying position and lifting the waist and concentrating on keeping the waist up throughout the movement. I could never explain why I can terrible glut weakness but could perform a clam until I tried this, and I literally could not lift the knee but could feel the gluts burning trying and within 3 weeks was able to activate and strengthen enough to complete full range of motion.

I do have some great static stretches and foam rolling videos. :-) But I would also make sure you are doing that activation work and mobility work prior so you're recruiting the correct muscles DURING your workouts. And then sometimes it is even about regressing to progress so that you can make sure you're using the proper recruitment patterns to more efficiently lift.

Every time I climb stairs, my right quads seem to be feeling the burn (like they're working hard) and my left side is fine. Even though my left side is the weaker side with pain in the hips/ knees/ lower back pain on the left side.
