I normally never comment on youtube videos. You are the best coach Gori. All of your videos are amazing. I find them very helpfull. Your videos are not too long, straight to the point and well explained. Always enjoy 😊
I love your tips, thank you !I'm turning 50 this MAY 2020 I've made it my mission to see how much strength and stamina I can regain. Your tips are very helpful and I see the advantage of doing glute activation exercises and doing them properly! People who workout at home may not know they are doing a exercise wrong, like me! My biggest issue is I haven't slept well for several years. I'm also scrawney and no longer have a lot of stamina or strength. I'm 5'5 115 lbs of skin and bones. 5 years ago I suddenly lost around 30 lbs while trying to figure out my diet and haven't been able to put weight back on. I'd like to put on 8-10 lbs of lean muscle over the next year or two. Getting the best bange for my buck so to speak with exercise, is important to me. Thanks again, I'll be checking out more of your videos.
I've been doing the glute activation, and it has helped so much. It's helped lessen basic pain from workours but it has helped strengthen my glutes from a hip injury from 2008. These are so necessary.
so glad I found your channel. As someone who has been hobbled by a torn labrum for a decade. Your detail to how to do these exercises correctly (point toe down on side leg lifts, push hips forward on clamshells), has been invaluable to actually doing these correctly and actually improve my glute activation. THANK YOU
I'm dyslexic..extremely.. and I understood everything. Appreciate you sharing your amazing knowledge..the clam, your the only one to have explained that perfectly. 👌
A friend (who works in the cycling industry as a bike fit specialist) recommended your videos, this one in particular and I just wanted to say how easy you make this to understand and follow. These are also great exercises to do at home during lockdown too. Thanks :)
Hi! @redefiningstrength idk if you will ever see this buuut I am so thankful to you! I bought your 28 day Booty Burner Challenge because I was doing research on my "glute amnesia" (or whatever you want to call it) and HOLY COW! It's amazing! 😍 It burns so much (but thats a good thing!) I was always quad dominant because my body was taking the easy way out. Today I did your "Side lying series" and it was the very first time I was able to feel my glute med. 🥺 I think it's going to help my "saddlebags" too! Thank you so much! 🙌🍑
I've been told by my RMT to do the clam to work on my weak glute, but I had trouble firing. Your explanation is amazing. Life changing! Thank you again.
Ive been dealing with poor glute activation for more than a few years, now, and associated hip/lower back pain. I jus found your video and had to stop watching, briefly, ( Though, I'll definitely get back to it), just to say that you do an immensely better job explaining the exercises, how to properly do them, what they accomplish, and how they work than did both physical therapists that I was sent to by my regular health care provider. I never felt they cared about really correcting any problems as much as rushing me through a process of giving activities designed to make me think I was doing something while I "rested" from normal activities for months (loosing fitness) and, eventually, giving in to the idea that I would be in pain the rest of my life and unable to be as active as I'd like. Thank you.
Watching your videos makes me want to leave the gym & start working out myself at home. Love your videos, I’ve learned a lot & like the way you teach 🤗
You are clear and precise, I an sure to get stronger with your knowledge. I would love to have complete follow along workouts instead of tutorials. Thanks you for what you do.
Clams done right! Bridges done right! Music to my ears as a rehab specialist and personal trainer. Love the other glute activation exercises and mods, too. Rock on chica!
I've been doing these exercises to fix some issues but they weren't working. Turns out my form and focus was all wrong. Thank you for getting me on the right track!
I'm trying to become a better frisbee golfer and a key ingredient to throwing further is getting the hips to fire at the correct time. So this will help me put more into my throw. But even if I didn't have a selfish, egocentric reason for watching your videos, I would watch all of the them all of the time because it is so refreshing to see someone who really believes in themselves and what they are saying. And yes, I use hand gestures when I talk on the phone and I think you probably do this too.
OMG I totally hand gesture as if talking in person on the phone haha! And definitely check out the band hip rotations I have in the best glute exercises video. Those would be PERFECT for you!
For being so young you sound like you already have a wealth of knowledge and keen insight into what it takes to get maximum results out of an exercise routine, great job!!!
Great video, thanks for sharing. One note on the way you've demo'd the Clam: you may get compensation with QL, particularly in women and in the eccentric phase while lowering which limits the functional activation change. This can be overcome by having the upper body in the side lying position and lifting the waist and concentrating on keeping the waist up throughout the movement. I could never explain why I can terrible glut weakness but could perform a clam until I tried this, and I literally could not lift the knee but could feel the gluts burning trying and within 3 weeks was able to activate and strengthen enough to complete full range of motion.
Love this video! This is something that needs to be talked about with all clients. I really appreciate your teachings and that you are very educated. Would love to see more videos like this. You Go Girl!!!
Thank you! And I agree! We have to educate not just hand out reps and sets. Empowering our clients to know the why behind their training helps them get so much more out of it!
Thank you for explaining the science behind the movements . Your insight and guidance has helped me take my body to a different level and I am Loving it.... keep these videos Coming!! 🌱💚🌱
You definitely know your stuff Cori...I enjoy watching your vids... very informative. I also just LOVE the fact that you include your dog at the end of all your videos...so adorably cute!...what's his/her name? ..Thanks for taking time to share your knowledge!👍🏾😉
Thank you for some more valuable information...I have a glute imbalance so will definitely be doing these exercises regular...keep up the great content it’s much appreciated...sending love from the U.K. 🇬🇧
OMG YES THANKS FOR THIS! great reminder for me as ive had piriformis issues and ankle injuries in the past and engaging properly is a struggle before every lwg and booty day and need to do some active mobility and engaging exercises bf hitting these muscles hard 🔥 🙏💚
Youuuuu Rock. And so does yer super chill dog🙈😄❣️I learn so much from your content, visuals within the time frame of different types workout you put together-as I’m a bit of a newbie. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge RS🙌🙌🔥💎🌻
Great tips! I started doing the "clam" to activate my glutes since I started watching one of your videos years back. So jealous that Kiwi doesn't even need to use the band :)
This was very good. Some of this I learned in class, other professional trainers, chiropractors, etc. I believe this would help any age since I believe part of shuffling as people move is partly due to lost or these areas not activated. 🤗🚶♀️
Love this video! As someone who’s has abused my body for years I have terribly weak glutes, I have been advised it is partly because I never find time to cool down post exercise. Have you got a cool down sequence for people who are short on time?
I do have some great static stretches and foam rolling videos. :-) But I would also make sure you are doing that activation work and mobility work prior so you're recruiting the correct muscles DURING your workouts. And then sometimes it is even about regressing to progress so that you can make sure you're using the proper recruitment patterns to more efficiently lift.
I can't believe it! I did exactly this with the guidance of your older videos today. Btw, Trick or treat! Better have your "pumpkin-orange kettlebell" ready, Coach!😉Happy Halloween😱🎃🎃🎃🍭
Hello. May I ask what exercises would you recommend to slimmer outer legs. Not sure what it's called. Outer hip or love handles. Hopefully that makes sense. Thank you
Baddie in the thumbnail. She is just preaching. Activation in moment is everything. Don’t worry about sweating worry about activation. If you want to sweat/get tired do a hiit program, lol. She is a great resource. Also Body by Cookie. Heyyy 🍪
Is it possible that my quads are compensating (instead of glute engagement) while I climb stairs? Every time I climb stairs, my right quads seem to be feeling the burn (like they're working hard) and my left side is fine. Even though my left side is the weaker side with pain in the hips/ knees/ lower back pain on the left side.

Very helpful explanations, especially when you mention anything having to do with backpain...minimizing it, avoiding worsening it, preventing it.
I'm dyslexic..extremely.. and I understood everything. Appreciate you sharing your amazing knowledge..the clam, your the only one to have explained that perfectly. 👌

This is great. A lot of clients think if they are not throwing heavy weight they are not working. It’s not always about heavy loads.

Very useful demonstration. Thank you Corey
I've been doing these exercises to fix some issues but they weren't working. Turns out my form and focus was all wrong. Thank you for getting me on the right track!

Hey Cori, what would you say would be an effective duration for these moves?
Love your speech cadence (and your quality microphone/sound). I listen to many you tube/podcast presenters @ 1.50 speed . Keep up the great content.
hehe well talking too slowly is definitely never going to be my issue ;-)
Thank you for these great exercise tips, and demonstration! The older I get, the more I can see that I need such exercises, to offset losses.

Playing at .75 speed worked well for me to keep up with this great information.
Michelle thanks - didn’t realize this was possible !
Thanks very much! Really good tip @Michelle.
Thanks a lot for the tip. She is amazing but it’s a little hard to follow her.
Happy I found this video. Very informative!
The foot pivot direction during the exercise is a great tip.
So glad it helps!
As usual, you deliver excellent information. You deliver at lightning speed but, it’s excellent.
hehe thanks!
How many would you recommend doing of each...maybe you said & I missed it? Thanks!
Brilliant, love your explanation
Great tips! I started doing the "clam" to activate my glutes since I started watching one of your videos years back. So jealous that Kiwi doesn't even need to use the band :)
Dude she doesn't even need glute day haha And glad they help!
Always amazing content

The hyper-extensions worked great for me. I used a taller bench, for greater range of motion.
This so far is helping me, thank you
So glad it helps!
You are the best. Your exercises are explained in great details. Details help me a lot in understanding the cause and effect for each move. Thank you.
Thanks so much again Alan! So glad everything helps! Keep up all of your hard work with the Glute Camp!
straight to the point. super informative thank you!!
After hip replacement I’m finding it difficult to activate glutes on that side. Going to really try these shortly.
I love your videos about workouts as well as videos like this... you are a great coach and a great teacher ❤️ thanks a lot beastette 💛💛💛
Aw thanks Chiara!

Ty
Thank you your great vedio
well explained videos, smart info.
If I don't feel my glutes at all when I am doing these exercises should I just keep doing them for a while?
Will this correct my left leg's tendency to compensate with my hamstrings and quads
rather than using the glute?
no bench at home :( how can I do those without equipment?
I can't stop watching you !!!
Can I try these if I am without booty bands?
❤️❤️❤️❤️inspiring Thank you 😊
I love watching her workout. Lil baddie in the house 🤍

You had me at Glute!
Love this at PT for over active hip flexors, low glute activation
Glad it helps! :-)

Thank you Cori, for this valuable information. My question, what is the recommended reps/sets?
I also want this
So reps and sets for activation should be higher between even 15-25 reps.
This workout is a good one and I'd highly recommend my booty burner if you need routines ;-) redefiningstrength.com/the-mini-band-booty-burner-workout/
Great. Very helpful
Just discovered your channel a few days ago! But thing that is bothering me is in what order do I put these videos?
I'm lazy to exercise at this moment. Just drop by to watch little doggie at the end.
She says hi!
Thank you :-)
I'm a dude, but your body motivates me to get in shape and lean!!
Thank you so much for offering these videos on YT. Super helpful, MUCH appreciated.
Glad they help!
Thank you!
Thorough info💪
Good to know. Need to activate the glutes to get best result from the big movement exercises. Thanks 👍👍
YES! That's key!
I like to do banded hip thrusters banded & SL hip thrusters for activation as well is that something you’d recommend.
I love mini band hip thrusters and single leg as well. Great options!
