So a very important lesson about two words that make a difference. Caliente vs Calor. Hot vs. heat. Hace muchísima calor en Extremadura. Caliente is like saying I’m feeling really hot (like if you have a fever) but as in English, 99% of the time what it is really used for is “I am horny”! So you want to say to people Que calor! Not caliente! Strangely though, we say “a dog in heat” which is what calor means. Culture is fun.

Ah, rookie error! A bit like Pollo vs polla, como pollo pero no polla haha Luckily the Spanish have a great sense of humor, it's always good fun chatting with the locals on this tour. I learnt a new one, I can't remember which day "Le duele el culo"

A hot day, brother Mark! You don't need to justify staying in a hostel... if you need to shower, fair enough! That's one thing you don't get with the bivvy. Classic grape joke, btw! 😀

It's the bank balance i'm justifying it to! It was getting quite pricy.... but yes, worth every penny!
