    Your content has been incredibly helpful in knowing what to expect, but do you have any exercises or focus areas to be more prepared? With Covid-19 every pool is closed, so it’s near impossible to swim. Thanks!

      Flynn Price good question, everything is on pause right now, for me personally, swimming is one of those skills where I can perform it whenever...BUT, the main factor is really core strength, endurance, and making sure ur muscles aren’t tight. So I would recommend during quarantine to do some light stretches, and go for walks/runs regularly if possible. So you’ll cardio and muscles will be active. Hope that helps!

      Probably not, cuz u need to be really comfortable treading water, submerging, and swimming long distances breast stroke and front crawl

    For the 300m are you required to put your head underwater during front crawl?

    • @beccag2758
      @beccag2758 4 года назад

      Freestyle with your head out of the water wastes waaaaay more energy than head down. However, a girl I worked with swam breaststroke head out of the water the entire 500 meters (my job required a longer distance) so I don’t believe you have put your head underwater

    Do you take the written test at the very end of training?

    • @LifeofAdam
      @LifeofAdam  4 года назад

      John Kirstukas Yupp, the written test is one of the last things that you do during the course.

    Hey, thank you soo much for all your help in all your videos. I have another question if you are someone could answer it here. For breaststroke, did you need to put your head under water or could you leave it up for the most part? I am a ok swimmer but i just wanted to know. I am taking the class in about 2 weeks. Thanks again!

      Theodore Nilsson ya u need to put your head under. The good news is that u can use goggles for the 300m swim... however for the rest of the course u need to be comfortable going under and opening your eyes.

    Your distance swim isn't timed?? what organization certified you? I'm from Canada and the main certification body here is the Royal Lifesaving Society, who's lifeguard course has a 400m time swim which must be completed under 10mins. You're a lucky dude haha

      Julia ya for my American Red Cross course if u could do the swim without stopping, ur good. 10 mins 400m is tougher
