    This is a very different experience me to get interviewed by Stacey but you guys wanted these episodes and now you have them. We go over a lot of important voiceover demo production details and how/what we do to help voice actors get to the top of their career! We had a blast recording these videos for you so I hope you dig them! :)

    I can't tell you how much I appreciate Stacey asking Chuck about NOT being ready to record a demo. I truly believe you both are hugely ethical and honest in your business practices. I did a little coaching with a Toronto V/O artist/coach who quickly suggested having my demo done and then getting out there to find an agent. I now realize I was not ready in the least to spend $800.00 to do this :( I also had no luck in finding an agent. (By the way, I sent my demo to Chuck, who kindly listened to it and still gave good feedback!). ~~LOVE~~

    This interview is gold. I have a strong feeling the majority of any thumbs down are from people who have been gently turned down by Chuck. Those folks shouldn’t take it personally. Chuck is looking out for you by making sure you’re able to bring your best, but also making sure you don’t over promise with an amazing demo. If you do that and can’t deliver when you step up to the mic, it’s bad for your career. Chuck and Stacey are looking out for you. True story.

    Phenomenal interview!! Who is this rock star? I feel like I've heard of this "Chuck Duran" before?! one thing that sticks out to me is this, I was told that "if you don't know if you are ready for a demo, then you aren't." Is that always true or do some actors just have a hard time accepting "Im good enough!" so in the actors mind, they are never good enough? even when they are and how do you assess the specific need of the actor? whether it be, more training, more self confidence or just a shift in technique? Me personally, i don't always like my true speaking voice, my natural baritone to bass voice doesn't sound like Joe from next door (in regards to commercial reads) and i sound congested at times (in my opinion LOL) thanks for always providing the goods! Stacey took it easy on you bud!

      Anthony Martin_AM lol thank for the great comment brother! That’s why it’s important to work with a reputable coach. When you’re ready they’ll tell you. I can assess someone’s abilities right away so once they get to me I’m able to definitely guide them in the right direction! 👍

    • @HeathMartinVO
      @HeathMartinVO 4 года назад +1

      @@vobuzzweekly fantastic my brother! My voice in my head, sometimes contradicts what I have been told in session. One very reputable director said im great when Im not in my head lol and 2 working actors that happen to coach, have told me that the read I just gave is bookable right now! Now, do something more challenging... so there are definitely layers to this thing that we love! two years ago I was a wide eyed pup eager to start my journey... im still that same eager pup, just the play area has expanded. You guys rock!
