As a newbie, this is really helpful. Watching how it's really done is awesome!! I learned that I don't have to "get it perfect" the first time. There's room to learn and adjust. There is also room to screw up and keep going. The facial expressions really come through! I'm still figgering out what is meant by all the spec adjectives. The interaction/direction is a real eyeopener!!

Thanks so much! Chuck has the experience to be able to give the exact direction for where the reads should go. It's one thing to be a visionary and see it in your head...but it's a skill of another level to be able to convey it to someone else. I loved watching this & hearing you adjust your delivery to Chuck's fantastic direction & the subtle differences in your interpretation of what he said to help you get to the final read. It really is a collaborative process & the trust that you mention is such a key ingredient. Are you only doing remote recordings as of now, or is it an option?
The whole industry is embracing remote recording so yes 👍 we are producing demos remotely with talent from all over the world. Your demo should now showcase your sound, acting skills, current market trends and… your studio sound quality. Hope that helps.

Chuck + Stacey + David = yet another winning combo! Well, done people! This is a master class on getting it done right. Adding a layer of visuals to the audio puts the entire demo into a different universe. Of course, the secret sauce is always the hard copy. It starts there. Without it, you've got nothin'. I'm guessing, in addition to creating the copy, either Chuck or Stacey also create the specs for each piece. Perhaps that's the hardest part of the above equation, i.e., figuring out what each spec looks and sounds like and then being able to create all that on the fly. Recording commercial copy just may be the toughest part of this crazy business.
