This would be cool to try. Where I live in central Canada there are limited lakes with crappies but it would be worth an attempt. Cheers and tight lines.
One of my tricks is 6wt rod and use sink tip line and flur leader. Floating mono tippet and fly. Then put a UL 1/320z or 1/64oz weight in a Free Rig config. In theory the fly will go up and down just like a free rig.
@@BendItFishing I'm new to tying. What size of tungsten cone head is that, and the body of that fly seems A LOT fluffier and fuller than a regular hackled Wooly Bugger. Would you care to elaborate on making that> Thank you so much.
@@IMFSHN size large tungsten cone head, daiichi 1710 size 6 hook, lead raps to make it heavier, cross cut rabbit strips and a cohen paddle tail that I cut out of fake leather
great action, but you shouldn't call this a "how-to". There's almost zero explanation of your rod, line, etc., and you don't explain how you are presenting or retrieving the fly. Us noobs need more talking through the process.
Fairly certain they do it to boost views in the algorithm since how to videos do really well. misleading. Easy fix would be to just be a little more in depth with the gear, but oh well.
I liked the Bad Boys II reference. Big f’n eyes, but a nice f’n fish!

That's pretty fancy setup
@@BendItFishing yes but it gives me more time to work the fly on the bottom than just reeling it back in the traditional way.
sweet vid!
Ty
New to fly fishing. How ya get that lure down ? Is it weighted?
Yes tungsten cone head with lead wraps underneath
Fluro Tippet and they make Sinking Fly Line just for situations you want to get deep.
Great video! Do you have any Pittsburg trips planned ?
Up here right now!! Slaying fish! Stay tuned
Just saw hot post on Facebook! I’m headed up Saturday hopefully.
I'll be here and bouncing around
Do you have a video on how you tied that fly?
No but it's just a regular cone head wooley bugger all white
@@BendItFishing was there a plastic paddle tail on it?
Oh right it was a Cohen's paddle tail on the back but I've caught them on both. I never really dialed the tail in
