Apparently Adventureland Long Island in Farmingdale, NY opened a very similar ride to what Turbulence was to be. It’s called Fireball. I’ve been seeing it show up in my IG Reels.
This is INCREDIBLE! You are such an amazing youtuber! Your videos are a huge part of what inspired me to to start making my own videos! I can't thank you enough!
The three-armed version was at the two Great America parks (now Six Flags Great America and California's Great America). They're long-gone but I would have loved to try them.
The RES Roller Ball is designed for smaller parks. If they would get one, it would either have to be modified for a larger capacity or marketed as a family attraction. The best place for one in the park would probably be next to Frontier Flyers in that empty plot of land.
Very well done video JD! This is probably the best one you’ve ever done! 👍 it would have been interesting if Hersheypark did end up getting this coaster 🤔
Dude thanks for doing a deep dive into this! Hersheypark got completely screwed... and Skyrush has it’s problems. Hershey just isn’t that lucky. Hopefully Candymonium is the one that will be the smash hit they’ve wanted!
"Wilde Hilde" is pronounced "vill-deh hill-deh" ("deh" like in DEad), but to be honest, I think your pronunciation is much better 😂. Great video as always
Wilde Hilde is a boring coaster,,I don't think Turbulence would not be any better, they should have kept Giant Wheel. I traveled to Hershey park from Japan ((my love like chocolate)) and it is my second favorite park behind Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Americans have it lucky!
Growing up in Northern Virginia in the 1970s and 80s, the closest thing we had to a home park was Kings Dominion, but we also went to Hersheypark and BGW, and I preferred both of those-- I felt they had a superior atmosphere and more family rides that I enjoyed. We had relatives in northeastern Pennsylvania and Hersheypark was a convenient stop along the way there or the way back.
you seem to know quite a lot about industry can you please make a video about which ride manufacturer company is larger by revenue and profitability in entire ride manufacturing industry, I'm working on ride designs and I want to either sell it or license it to existing ride manufacturer but I don't know how to go about it, designs are not complete yet, I will file for patent after completing those, but I'm not a mechanical engineer, and I will be needing the help of industry experienced engineer too complete it, but I also don't want my ride designees to be stolen, can you please help me out on this how to goo about engineer and negotiating deal with ride manufacturers, so that I don't get ripped off, looking forward to your reply.
Was supposed to go where the balloon and rocket rides are today in Founders Way, ill ever think of those two rides the same again, even though the balloons was my first ride at Hersheypark!
2:13 Here you said that Trailblazer was an Arrow Dynamics mine train, but that is partially wrong, Trailblazer was built in 1974 at which time the company was known as Arrow Development, it wasn't until 1986 that the company became known as Arrow Dynamics.
@@HersheyAddict Giant Wheel never had three arms. It was always a double wheel. You can see all the info about Giant Wheel on my website, The Amusement Parkives.
@@HersheyAddict Nope, the three-armed ones were at different parks entirely. We visited Hersheypark several times through the 70s and the Giant Wheel was my favorite ride there--always a two-armed wheel. It wasn't the first model of double wheel like this--a different manufacturer made one that was at Astroworld in Houston, and I've heard there was a bungled attempt at a legal threat to prevent Hersheypark's from opening.
Great job on this, i had no idea this was a thing til now. At least you didnt miss out on anything spectacular. Also, eyes of glory...what a great track, right?
Or Kings island lol. There’s also great adventure people and Kd, but I’m beginning to see more hershey people right now, and I think that’s because of JD
TURBULENCE: The Hersheypark Rollercoaster Never Built: A HERSHEYADDICT Production.
i missed it :(
There’s a coaster like that on Long Island called fire ball (the same park also has a coaster called turbulence)
The mid 2000's were such a crazy time for theme parks
I always just look at the balloons and starship America and immediately miss the Giant Wheel.

2:16 “SooperDooperLooper, a Schwarzkopf looper”
Sounds remixable
‘Super Duper Looper, A Schwarzkopf looper’ he did a rhyme and didn’t notice!🤣
I literally have the map from the year prior when they announced this in my bedroom at home because i thought it was such a cool coaster concept

HersheyPark's model only had 2 arms, unlike like the 3 you quoted. You had some pictures of another version of the ride in your video.
The three-armed version was at the two Great America parks (now Six Flags Great America and California's Great America). They're long-gone but I would have loved to try them.
ah, so this is where that one RCT3 ride came from.
RIP giant wheel 🪦
I've been curious to know more about that ride, good vid!
YO THIS WAS SO GOOD 😳😳 do you think it’s possible Hershey would resurrect Turbulence in RES form? i think it would be rly cool
Free spins look better if they wanted a ride like this. I think Hershey should get an axis coaster instead tho.

Thank You!
I think the giant wheel was just a double arm. I dont recall it ever had a third and had gone every year since 78
The three-armed one was at the Great America parks in Illinois and California.
Such a good name for a coaster
Awesome video buddy! Music sounded familiar though 🧐😂
Haha inspired heavily by airtime thrills
I completely forgot about this ride. Great video

This has to be your best edited video yet! God, this is amazing 😍
Amazing video the editing is👌
I really enjoyed this! ☺️
I cant believe they raised the price to 3.2 million for better steel.
It looks like a really old school version of an Intamin ZacSpin.
"rip giant wheel"
I'm noticing the Chrono Trigger music in the background near the end.
It would have been just so weird
I will most likely bad our to sleep over whenever this comes out
What?

At least Turbulence at Adventureland is good (yeah Ik nobody knows it but it’s my home park)

I always wondered why it was cancelled, and where it would have gone.
I thought it was going to replace the Ferris Wheel over in Midway America
@@LindsayTVFilm That's *a* giant wheel but it's not *the* Giant Wheel.
If Hershey ever adds a free-spin and doesn’t name it Turbulence they’re making a mistake.
I agree!
I'm honestly so excited for this

It reminds me of the Joker at Great Adventure

The Giant Wheel only had 2 arms, not 3.

*insert video time stamp here where I say this*
