Remember. In performance, high rpm situations running a lower radiator hose without an anti collapse spring will promote collapse at speed. You will have cooling issues at speed but return to normal at cruising speed.
If you can’t find an anti collapse spring in the size you need , get some stainless steel wire and wrap your own around a metal pipe that’s a bit smaller than what you actually need to compensate for spring back when done.
Always use an anti collapse spring in the lower hose no matter what.

I removed both the radiator cap and the reservoir cap and the hose regained a little bit of shape but not much.
Is changing the hose the next step?

I just replaced a water pump (2016 F150) and put a new thermostat in. Right after, the lower hose collapsed the next morning when cold. Could the thermostat be the issue ???

Me too. I think you have air in the system. You should replace the radiator cap though.

My dodge ram has had this ,upper radiator hose gets hard and bubbles .and boils up no over heat marking in the dashboard.I changed everything over the two years thermostat, coolant sensors ,hoses,3way valve ,oil cooler housing ,radiator cap .I just haven’t changed the radiator & I had a mechanic tell me it’s the head gasket 😅😅
