Now that the upcoming song ("Purest Gold") Gav refers to at 38:30 is out, it's definitely worth a listen. Most reactors/listeners who haven't heard a world-class soprano in person without amplification have no idea just how much Elizabeth is holding back for 90% of the part she arranged for herself.
Fourth playthrough of Elden Ring and fourth Elden Ring song, coincidence? I mean maybe, but I won't be mad if he keeps playing it and every playthrough inspires another song because the Soulsborne stuff is so consistently top tier, and especially with Elden Ring it's been incredible
Same with the Celtic stuff actually and that there's a whole album of Celtic themed songs coming has me hyped!
This interview was great and I love Gavin's work so much but I'd sell and arm and a leg to get an interview like this with Aviators, his work is so criminally underrated.
Yeah, and honestly he's done even fewer interviews or blog-like posts. I barely know anything about them apart from their work.
I've been a fan of Miracle of Sound since I first saw (you guessed it) Valhalla Calling. Awesome to see an interview with him.
Nice work, Peter - that was a very enjoyable interview. 👍 Gavin seems to be such a genuine and humble man - and funny! I laughed out loud when he talked about finding mother's copy of Cosmopolitan! 😂His humour comes across in some of his songs as well.
I don't play computer games but I still love his compositions. If a song is good enough you don't need to know the game or TV series or whatever it is inspired by to appreciate it. They just work! (Same with Jonathan Young's recent Baldur's Gate and Helldivers compositions - the songs work without me knowing the games.)

Someone call Blake Shelton. We found something for him to do besides The Voice and sing country music. This podcast needs a big name like him on it to help viewers connect with artists they grew up with on the radio, and Blake Shelton is a BIG name.
It's my goal to someday be able to speak with people on Blake's level of notoriety for the channel, but some major growth needs to happen on my end before that's possible
