My voice is picked up in the Steam settings test, but no one can hear me in-game. I have it set to enable the mic when I press 'q' and I have VOIP volume set to max, but still nothing.
My issue is that the gain is very low specifically in CS2, and not in other programs. I have turned it all the way up and fiddled with the settings but to no avail.
Anyone getting lag when using the mic? What up with that? Like insane lag just pressing the mic. Edit: Found a fix for me. Turn on "Streamlined push to talk".

My mic setup works with discord and all other recording software but when it comes to cs2 no go. Any suggestions?
SOLUTION: download “PEACE” equalizer, you can raise you mic volume as much as needed though there. the issue is that counter strike had a high mic threshold so you mic volume has to be loud enough for it to register
i am laptop user and i am using discord and when i use discord microphone selected for laptop but when i play cs2 there are 2 options headphone and speaker for mic but when i chose speaker headphone disabled but i want using headphone for hear and also use laptops mic

im using a mic through logitech and if i change any steam settings it changes them in Logitech if i fix the gain problems ingame it scuffs discord and vice versa

I have the same audio interface and for some reason windows read my input 1/2 as a dual channel and when i speak on microphone i can hear voice only from the left side. Is there any option to change to mono ?
For those who have applied the fix in this video and it still does not work, close down CS2, go to Control Panel > Sounds > Recording (tab) and set the mic you are trying to use as default. Launch game and test.

Steam voice parameters do not affect cs2. You can set the input volume to 0 if you like, it won't change a thing.

Change your audio card sample rate(KHz) settings from ...KHz to 44.1KHz in windows and in audiocard interface. It helped me to fix micro
