I was born in 90 and i tell ya if i could id build a damn time machine and go back.. id gladly trade everything as far a tech advances for how great things were back then. I mean hell does anyone remember how good the pizza tasted back then compared to now and how even if you got into a fight you got up and walked it off not whine about it or how ballsy we were as kids compared to today's generation? And did you know people consider us old now?lol i mean damn where did the time go..
I bought the cassette of this soundtrack and since at the time I had barely acquired an auto-reverse Walkman, I was in heaven. It has held up very well, more specifically this track. It's timeless.
Maaaan... That brings me back to 1995-96... I was 20 years younger... 20 years!... And only now understands how progressive that movie was in overall... Amazing and сontemprorary soundtrack.
Ulyana Savina That word, progressive, it does not mean what you think it means. You were just young when you saw it, and your tastes never progressed forward. If you do a little digging you’ll see the sources.
The last of my teenage years listening to this soundtrack when it came out. Always a fave for me. Very simple dance track, but the rose tinted glasses help. Good times.
I was about 8 years old at the time when this came out. This song literally just blew my mind away with the vocalizing voices echoing and the droning sounds. This whole album was just incredible. Glad I still have it. Otherwise I'd never continue with it's legacy. We actually played this at a Halloween dance when I was in college and the staff members just loved it. They were like "wow, that was very supernatural."
Fun fact: the music composer wanted this kind of music to be part of the soundtrack, and so he had to fight for it against the producers. And also it's crazy to think that this soundtrack got a Platinum 🤯
The MK soundtrack was actually my introduction to groups like Type O Negative and KMFDM, and genres of music that didn't get played on any of the radio stations I had available. I'd have missed out on so much good music if not for this soundtrack specifically drawing my attention to it.
@@WhatIsThisEven5011 I got the MK soundtrack as a christmas gift, and it completely introduced me to a whole new genre of music. And yes, it was very different than anything I had ever heard on the radio at the time.
Thanks dude, all these years I thought they naturally went with it. It just seemed obvious to me to have hella techno everywhere. A schoolmate introduced me to the techno genre just a year or so prior and I was hooked so I loved having bought this soundtrack and most of the music was and is so good. Miss the 90's.
@@WhatIsThisEven5011 Yup. My introduction to my 2 fav bands, Fear Factory and Type o negative. So awesome. Ace Ventura was my intro to Cannible Corpse. All 95'ish
This is the first time in a very long time I've revisited this soundtrack. This is a song I would not have liked when the movie came out. After all these years, my taste in music has changed, making this song actually my favorite. Also, Halcyon+On+On. I saw Orbital in concert in Las Vegas waaay back in the day.
This song did, (and still does - though now in memoriam only, I'mafraid 😉), encapsulate that point at a party (rave, or club) when you come to the realization that, no matter how many more rolls you swallow nor mix spun, that it's all downhill for the night from that point on. This song is the embodiment of that sensation for me during the mid to late 90s PARTY scene in chicago/Milwaukee/MADISON! (Or to put it another way: 😜➡️😳➡️🤯➡️😁➡️😍➡️💥 rinse. repeat. )
I remember hearing the new stuff from Psykosonik like 'Unlearn' after listening to songs like Technojihad and Shock on the Wire and not digging it when I was a teen. Like it a bit more now that I'm older.
I am looking for a forum to get hints of advice on a song that sounds like a cross between Reptiles theme and Psykosonik. Does anyone have a site or community that might be able to help. I believe the song was produced circa 1996-2001. Thanks in advance!
It's really strange how there were a string of (with the DEFINITE EXCEPTION of "Blade") shitty genre movies in the 90s that had these insanely fantastic sound tracks, like THIS shit, and Tank Girl, among others.
@@roccleebeats Yeah it was created by Daniel Lenzmeier. Boy did that guy go Mr Plastic Fantastic don't get me wrong he is one talented artist very clever but he did go a bit egocentric marrying that model in Malibu. Paul Sebastien from Psykosonik is certainly all class he did a short lived project "Basic Pleasure Model" yeah quite good.
god bless the 90's
Agreed! Born on Oct 7, '80 I'm a 80s baby, 90s teen, we're the last generation before social media, things were old school back then

This one makes very good combination with Higher State of Consciousness by Josh Wink.

Oh the Nostalgia! I was 16 when this came out. Watchin cheerleaders do basketball halftime dance shows to this soundtrack.
I was about 8 years old at the time. Those were the days. Sure do miss them.

The best tune in the whole CD...amazing beat
the music back in the day was unmatched compared to what we have now especially for people who were our age back then today.
i still rock the old stuff I ake music now because of it!
best mortal kombat movie plus best soundtrack. The new Mortal Kombat is dull and unimaginative.
This is one of my favorite soundtracks still nearly 30 years later.

I don't remember hearing this track in the movie but I love how haunting it sounds
It wasn't in the movie, but it's still a good track regardless.
Yeah, especially with the sound of the vocalizing voices. Very haunting.
Yeah, such a good track. Too bad it wasn't in the movie.
I wonder how they planned on using it
Weird they put this here if it wasn't in the movie when there were songs in the movie not on this
God, I've just been taken back to the best time in my life :)
used to play this on repeat when I was 10 😁😁😁
same here.. then I got to meet the guy (Josh Wink) after one of his live shows in Philly.. :)
Smooth, absolutely smooth.
This album and song were recorded and mixed on the soundboard at Prince's Paisley Park studios in the mid 90s.
Sounds like this should be in a Streets of Rage game.
