  • In this video, we tackle the job of replacing the main fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel injectors on my 1987 Volvo 740 Turbo Wagon.

    The harness for the pump goes up by the drivers right side seat rail under the carpet and there is a black connector near the gear shifter / fuse panel. This means you can swap the whole fuel pump harness and restore it to stock configuration, if desired.
    I always use an impact tool to remove the banjo bolts but I only use a hand wrench to tighten them and ensure the copper / aluminum washers are properly "crushed".
    I upgraded my 940 Turbo intank pump to the Deatschworks 200 as sold by FCP Euro. It was a fairly simple install and I wish I had made a video of the minor modifications required to get it to work.

    Tx for the video and link to Injector Rehab! How much did the rehab cost? $20 each?

      I don’t recall the exact cost, but I think about $20 per injector sounds right. They also send you a printout that shows before and after flow rates. I appreciated the new o-rings because then the injectors came ready to install!

    I would not use power tools with motors that may spark around fuel ;(.
