I feel like Devouring Sugermaw is perfect for this kind of deck since it can provide 2 permanents to get Viper down on turn 3 and it itself can make use of all these resources if we don't draw the Viper for a bit of redundancy. A 6/6 Menace + Trample for 4 mana is still a pretty good beater.
I was frankly more of a fan of the Builder's triggering that many times than I was of the Viper. I want to see a deck that does its best to do *that* more! :)
Problem with this is going all in on a creature that is relatively easy to remove while simultaneously not having the best answers for your opponents plan.
LVD is going all in to showcase it here, but realistically i think it just slides into the existing Orzhov Pixie deck to provide a win con. A lot of times that deck just ends up with a bunch of Clues and enchantments lying around not doing much; now they can feed a snek.
@@DRACONAR1US I agree that pixie would probably be the best deck to sloit it in, but It's probably worst than Acclozoth, but maybe in more aggresive version?
Deadly Cover-Upis a good counter for this guy, which I serendipitous found mid-game. I didn't know what the card did, but all of a sudden I was using his snake and he had no defenders.
I’ll try something similar when expansion releases with the boots + the infamous cruelcraw on a rakdos midrange deck with carnosaur, etali, sheoldred… it could be a banger! maybe you have the same idea and you upload a similar list enjoyed the video, Nice work as always!
@Legenvd Risky deck but rewarding! @10:00 I think you could have play the second snake by sacrificing the role and the Hexmage. I would not have change anything though :) Thank you for the vids.
@@LegenVD My mistake, you are totally right. I read the price on the screen and didnt register the price was 6, not 5 (already discounted by the 1rst snake). Thank you for correcting me. Tough deck :)
Maybe this list can try to run a little red to include the gleeful demolition package, makes a lot of bodies that can chip damage in or be fed to the snake when the board gums up
I have a cobra tattooed on my ankle so i can say I have a snake in my boot everytime someone asks about it. Its also on fire and bright green and purple so i get to say it alot.
you may want to consider case of the stashed skeleton as a way to tutor out the viper and it makes two permanents for 2 mana, though you might also need a way to sac the skeleton to make that work.
Certainly considered it, although as you said it takes quite a bit of time and setup to actually tutor up the Viper. The token also doesn't play defense, which is often required in the early turns.
im trying to make this deck work in black-red, main issue seems to be removal, which I'm trying to counteract with graveyard interaction and return spells. also it just isn't fast enough to compete with monored, but it doesn't have enough kill spells to stall it out, so it's a bit of a tricky situation
29:00 Can someone explain why it's not a good idea to attach the Wicked role from Skitter's Blessing to the "cursed" rabbit token? I thought that way you end up either with a 2/2 rabbit or a 3/2 hexmage when you already expected the removal D: (I'm a very inexperienced player so I apologise if it's an obvious thing I'm missing)
aside from sultai, which will have a successful deck even if every multicolored card in those colors says "lose the game if you cast this", do yall think there's any good (possibly meta) wedge archetypes coming to standard with Bloomburrow? I feel like an abzan variant of this is possible, but would probably be less consistent than orzhov
@johndoe9343 for the last set his draft guide was a lot more streamlined than his previous ones, I'm also on his patreon and haven't seen anything about it, so figured I'd ask
Sure, but the goal was to have more things to sacrifice to the second Viper or just survive one more turn to set up a lethal attack, even a 1/1 would still get there with that many counters so we would rather have a bigger blocker.
At what stage do the blight counters effect the other opponents? Also how does it get 2 more when it attacks the first time? I figured it was one counter per attack
The counters stack up over time, so you'll get a second counter by the time you attack. They have an immediate effect, don't quite get your initial question.
@@LegenVD So it would have 2 counters after its first attack or am i wrong? 1 for entering and another 1 for attacking. U said it would get 2 more on attack and so there are 3 triggers. That is what is confusing me as well. And his first question i wanted to ask as well. Does the ability trigger when the viper attacks or when a counter is put on it?
@@eisberg7681 It gets one counter when it enters and a second counter when it attacks. But the ability scales with the number of counters. So when the second counter is placed you get two times the effect, hence 3 times total.
I'm not terribly fond of the idea. You're pretty much all-in on turn-3 viper and hope that's going to win you the game. It's literrally the only creature they need to remove in your entire deck, so they will always have something ready for it.
im sorry, but i dont understand why i should enjoy this type of content? im not able to play bloomburrow right now. But every influencer make arena content right now. i dont feel hyped its just unfair
I normally love your content. U make very creative and powerful decks. This is one of the worst decks I've ever seen u construct. Appreciate the hustle but yikes....
I can see it being good at 1-2 copies in some Bandit's Talent deck instead of being the center piece of a deck. Which is pretty much about the same gameplay as what was shown (so basically Pixie bounce) but cutting down on some of the subpar cards that are in there just because they are generating an extra permanent on ETB.
I actually like seeing jank from LVD, if you can even call this that, the consistent combo decks he's capable of are awesome, but I really only need to see one or two matches of that before all the fun for me is gone, but this stuff to me is great!
Honestly, is that viper overpowered? It feels like a bigger - game isn't fun - breaker than Sheoldred (the one that make you gain life for drawing cards, and your opponent lose life for drawing cards)
I've been a big fan of the channel since midnight hunt. Thanks so much for the awesome content!
The Rottenmouth "near mint" joke was amazing and so understated many might have missed it.
Paying attention really provides a lot of value
What joke?

especially a hastey one woth boots around ward ends up being spicy here
I had great fun with rottenmouth viper in my prerelease - even managed to make a baby with coiling rebirth once
Nice to see Filipa making good use of the opportunity to try out the new set
Turn 3 6/6 with extra text provides a lot of value. Just gotta watch out for removal. Or very wary of board vipes.
Cheers Captain Obvious
i am thinking about not dead after all instead of the lavaspur boots
Cool deck. Love the art and flavour of this set. Hopefully it is as good in Limited as OTJ, or even MH3 minus Chrys. Thanks for the wonderful content.

Very nice build, and rather cheap in WC as well. So perfect combo. I generally don't build or craft unless Luca plays it.

"I'm a bit too full."
Yeah with all this damn VALUE, we've been full for years Luca! LOL xD
cool seeing all the new cards that won't see play because they didn't rotate enough sets out
Might have to play this blue/black with 3 steps ahead.
Seeing you play Nassif was neat
Twice!
The viper was the MVP at pre-release rounds for me. Couldn't have won my 3rd round without it.
viper is sick, hope it has a decent build come rotation
This snake turned out to be quite strong in pre release 2hg.
Funny how a card that is usually a 1/1 or 1/2 deathtouch is a 6/6 in the world of bloom burrow
@Legenvd Risky deck but rewarding!

Your timestamp doesn't seem to point at the right spot, but if you mean the turn around 16:00 we would still need to sacrifice the other Viper.

Is there any chance for a more aggressive Builder's Talent deck? Maybe mono-W or RW?
That snake definitely gave me a Woody 😎
I would do a different version with proliferate and maybe a bit of ramp to have calamity copy it or the new rebirth that return from grave with a copy

Hey LVD, any plans for a draft guide to bloomburrow? Love the breakdown of every new card,
Probably soon. Did you think he wouldn't? In terms of an in depth / card by card guide instead of an overview, the trend seems to be Patreon only.
