the mirror match man what a game, this is why I watch your videos for content like that. Totally thought he had you, but those bats that drain for one when you get life seem to be a key part of this deck. Had the other guy had that card in his deck with all the life he was gaining from the cases initially, he probably would have had you. Great game and content Legend, keep it up 👌👌
I wonder if opponent ever thought about using a removal spell on their own channeler to move counters to the bat and have a repeatable source of massive life gain.
In match 3, if you had killed the valley mightcaller would'nt have you survived? By reducing by one the mentor's power. Anyway keep up the great work 💪🏻🇮🇹
I realized my original calculations were wrong. Correct probability of hitting land with both augurs is 13.56%. So you would very likely die to augur triggers. If you do survive then you would be able to present lethal. Edit: I forgot to account for the bottom card being a nonland placed by the mulligan. So that card can be excluded from the population. So the actual probability of exactly two lands in the top two cards is slightly higher at 14.15%.
Amazing gameplan and even bettwr gameplay! Loved seeing your life bounce back and forth haha And amazing work on that mirror match! It can't be easy to stay sharp and focused when matches are that close and that long
Been waiting so long for bats to get some love. This new expansion is by far one of my favorite thematically. Hopefully, wizards doesn't go full greed mode over this next arc like what they did with MH3
Wotc accidentally broke Dark Depths again with the release of Mutated Cultist, removing all counters from a permanent or player and giving cost reduction equal to the numbers removed means by turn 2 you can have a Marit Lage, and follow it up with Ulamog.
I think you could have survived the last attack of the bunny deck, if you killed the Mightcaller instead of the Mentor, block the Mentor and only take 7, right? Still very likley you die due to the Darkstars triggering.
Aggro will always be the majority of BO1 Arena. It has the best consistency when you don't know what the opponent is playing on an anonymous platform like Arena, because it doesn't matter what they are playing; you will make the same moves regardless. Also, people are playing Arena like a job just to get those dailies done.
Match 4, if you had GFTT the Frog, the Mentor would have lost 1 power and been 7/7. You would have survived with 1 HP. Mentor is just like Bunnicorn, it scales with # of creatures.
do you think Delney have a good spot in this deck? double the trigger and unblockable to most of the creatures. or you just want to maximize the bat count? thank you for the deck too
I don't understand why you didn't attack with your starscape clerics in the mirror match. They can't block. (And I think you would have won during your all out attack)
I think at 20:26 you would've survived another turn and likely won the game, if you blocked the Burruwguard Mentor with Zoraline, removing the Valley Mightcaller instead. This would've shrunk Burrowguard, letting you survive the attack with 1 life.
I understand power creep will always be a thing in any tcg, but I don’t like the idea of printing cards that are strictly better versions of other cards. The essence channeler is a strictly better Ajani’s pride mate and the case is a strictly better Ajani’s welcome.
@@ML-yn9yuI understand that. But as I said, I don’t like strictly better cards. I am fine with power creep but I think there should be at least some pros and cons between versions of cards.
I don’t think it would be that bad. You can just shortcut the triggers. Count how many instances of life gain and multiply to calculate life loss of opponent. Just as long as both of you know what is actually happening and that you can respond on the stack if desired.
@@nate1004 yes but sometimes one trigger induces several triggers triggering several triggers semselves. Pretty sure even good players will forgot some. But I could give it a try
I dislike tribal decks because they take away from deck building creativity. 80% of your deck is just the best tribe cards and the rest is just the best interaction in their colors.
Still more creative than playing with a deck that is 100% the best cards in your colors (which is what you do if you want to play any of the 1v1 formats in a competitive way).
I think in this pre-release that Wizards gives content creators access too, they are specifically asked not to concede so that the decks can be shown popping off.
That bat mirror match was crazy. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.
The mirror match was a rollercoaster.
The mirror match against Powr Dragn was a back and forth barn burner, holy smokes! Definitely one of the coolest matches I’ve seen in awhile.
Glad you enjoyed!
I totally forgot that one of the main pieces of hand disruption that will survive the new Standard rotation happens to be a bat with lifelink.
Thank you LegenVD and Power Dragon for such a beautiful match.

Imagine playing that on paper... those triggers are going to kill your brain before opponent does

Man, match 5 was one of the most entertaining magic matches I've seen in a while.
Honestly can’t wait to see the bats do some work. It’ll be interesting to see by the end of this series how all the types stack up.
In match 3, if you had killed the valley mightcaller would'nt have you survived? By reducing by one the mentor's power. Anyway keep up the great work 💪🏻🇮🇹
Possibly, still 2 Darkstar Augur on the stack in the upkeep, could've died anyway.
Good point!

That match against Power Dragon was insane! I love those kind of games

The bats vs bats game was super fun!
Legenvd: no pain no gain
Deck: all pain all gain.
Thank you for sharing your creations with the world!
The mirror match was quite the Bat-tle!
Kindly return to that secluded cave of yours, please.
I love this deck! My first standard deck was an orzhov lifegain deck. This video hits me in the feels
Match 5 was incredible!

That mirror match really shows the power of cleric. Just getting zoraline back would have done it. Well played.
Darkstar Augur makes for incredibly nail-biting games lol
Great match 4. I love PowerDragon's content as well
The mirror match is match of the year so far!
I was expecting to see Roaming Throne with all those triggered abilities, but that was a great deck as usual!
This deck and red black lizards are absolutely bonkers
Great mirror match.
I think this is close to the version I want to make. Just a bit more life gain sources, and probably play Amalia as well.
That mirror was epic, ho-ly
Awesome deck!
Hey, I asked for this! thanks lol
in this set bats and lizards are all about the ping for 1
That match 4 man Sheesh
Lvd on Sunday! Like a birthday or something
I hope this is a good deck in standard looks really fun
Wotc accidentally broke Dark Depths again with the release of Mutated Cultist, removing all counters from a permanent or player and giving cost reduction equal to the numbers removed means by turn 2 you can have a Marit Lage, and follow it up with Ulamog.
Game 3 vs otters when you were worrying about resolving your spells the bloomburrow uncommon land only taps for creatures, so you would be safe.
Good point, hadn't noticed that it wasn't an island.
I think you could have survived the last attack of the bunny deck, if you killed the Mightcaller instead of the Mentor, block the Mentor and only take 7, right? Still very likley you die due to the Darkstars triggering.
Indeed!
This deck is more like "No gain, no pain"
Bats are my favorite tribal after vampires 🦇
awesome!!
I hope this archetype manages to keep aggro decks in check.

You get a new card! You get a new card! And youuu get a new card! Everybody gets a new card!
Thay mirror match, holy SHIT!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
I'm really excited to try this when expansion releases, do you considered to add a single copy of aclazotz? or maybe it is a bit slow?
Match 4, if you had GFTT the Frog, the Mentor would have lost 1 power and been 7/7. You would have survived with 1 HP. Mentor is just like Bunnicorn, it scales with # of creatures.
Very interesting all around.
Do you think Invasion of Tolvada could be a good fit for it?
do you think Delney have a good spot in this deck? double the trigger and unblockable to most of the creatures.
or you just want to maximize the bat count? thank you for the deck too
Don't think there's room for Delney if you're looking for the most competitive build.
That opponent in match 2 looks super familiar.....
I am planning to still run bats, do you have uan updated list with Duskmourn?
You should add valley rotcaller
Playing around the village not being able make a blue mana for counterspells is peak Lvd giving his opponents too much respect
Notification squad.
Imagine being in the notification squad. Random browsing squad for the win.
How important would you say it is to include the mirror match in your videos? The one in this video was excellent
Wizzurds! ♥
At 20:00, can you not react with Go for the Throat on the Mightcaller before the rabbits enter for Hop To It?
There's no real difference between doing it before or after.
15:05 I believe they cant have a counterspell here since that land only taps for blue on creatures
Correct!
Finally someone trying out bats o/ With all this lifegain...feels likea crime not playing amalia though
I don't understand why you didn't attack with your starscape clerics in the mirror match. They can't block. (And I think you would have won during your all out attack)
🦇
How would you rank the decks you've presented so far in regards both power and fun to play?
Lizards and Bats felt the most well-rounded.
I think at 20:26 you would've survived another turn and likely won the game, if you blocked the Burruwguard Mentor with Zoraline, removing the Valley Mightcaller instead. This would've shrunk Burrowguard, letting you survive the attack with 1 life.
Indeed, although we likely still die to Augur triggers.
You miscounted the number of matches. The 3rd is at 14:00.
Should be fixed!
wait its sunday!
e: ok its sunday worthy thank you
I wonder if anyone can find a good frog deck. It just seems extremely slow and costly for what it tries to do.
Match 3 couldve killed the mightcaller to live on 1 life, but youd likely die to auger on your upkeep
No gain, no pain would be more accurate. lol
Cool, but where is this tribal deck supposed to sit with no chair?
I play Delney to copy all the Bat triggers
What about the chair? 🪑
@@abehme the chair is cool but too expensive
I love my decks around power 2 or less creatures
Please bring grixis rats the second best tribal
Love seeing CGB take Ls from Legend 💪
Aye

When Screaming Nemesis drops, this whole deck just goes poof and that makes me sad
all these kids
The deck seems awful to play with paper cards
