@@DaZeebo it’s tough because different things work for different people but my advice is to focus on the “knocking” sound that starts to happen after jump 7. Don’t focus on the “1up” sound. Also make sure you are holding the controller in a way that it doesn’t move AT ALL.
@@lewis9s38 for me, and once I noticed to always be topped off right after his countdown attack, it was just a matter of keeping calm and slowly chipping them away. Can’t quite get the perfect timing of his 9999 Claw attack, but one day.

😄Thanks to this amazing guide, it really helped me out with the 3D Culex battle last night. I didn't realize how good Mallow's Star Rain Damage Output really was for this fight so I gave it a shot and it easily took down the Crystals in little to no time at all. The entire run pretty much consisted of Mallow & Mario doing most of the work, but I fluked the Star Rain Timing twice. On the other hand, I was able to execute the Super Jumps perfectly with Mario on every turn outside of the last one which KOed Culex anyways. This guide ended up helping me get the Culex Battle down to 5 turns, but I hope one day I can try to get it down to 4! ☺🙏Thanks for making all these videos on these runs. It was very informative and it was really helpful as a guide to this fight! I hope one day you'll be able to get it down to 3 turns somehow if it's at all possible. Good Luck Sny_Guy! 👍

It took me 78 turns to beat Culex 3D - I found out the hard way that if he dies and any Crystals are remaining, they'll revive him and bring him back to full health. I'm interested to see how you accomplished it in four turns.
I did not know that the crystals will revive him. I focused on taking the crystals out first in both 2D & 3D modes and it took me 56 turns. I would’ve been so heated if I was doing that grind for that long and this asshole just popped back up like that lol
Interesting video! I do have ideas on some further improvement. These probably won't work. 1. If Geno was in the middle with full health at the start and Mallow was on the right and not at full HP, Mallow could use the Jinx belt to be unharmed by meteor and be Geno Boosted, but Mallow won't be immune to petal blast. 2. 1:00 If Petal Blast missed Peach, she could use the rock candy earlier. Also, bring more rock candy. 3. If the Geno Boost idea works, then you can kill the crystals faster and switch to Ultra Jumps for Mario earlier 4. Using the armor lazy shell on Bowser for when he throws rock candy. 5. Better jumping. If I could only name 5 improvements, then this video is legendary.
Very interesting comment. Geno boost would be irrelevant because of the accessories I have on but I do agree my jumping would need to be better lol. I’m assuming you have done this in 3 turns?

Now that I think of it, would't be nice if we have a long dlc with the cross over characters, (Link and Samus) can't wait to see Link healing with the tryforce and a command of buttons to make it even better and Samus Ultra Cannon mashing buttons to make it more powerful and of course some new bosses that will put our skills to the test, and the cherry on top, The Resturn of our Geno stronger to match the strengh of Link and Samus. Sorry about that, been thinking on that lately 😂.
I did some calculations, and 2 turns on breezy might be barely possible, but you would have to get really good luck on the random variation on damage the clown car does to the earth crystal
@@sny_guy My calcs used Mallow getting Atk on levels 3, 6, 9... etc and magic on the rest. That gets him +30 atk at the cost of losing 10 magic attack (it makes the combo of two uses of Star Rain and one use of Clown Car do 30 more damage on average. Relevant for trying to 2 turn Breezy, but not for trying to 3 turn Normal). Anyway, with the same strategy, my calcs say 2 Star Rains and Clown Car should do 3322 to Earth Crystal on average. We're 458 off. Now, the Lazy Shell weapon variance is +/- 50, and that should translate to 166 damage variance for Clown Car. I don't think Mallow and Bowser's weapons have as high variance, so it's probably out of reach (and then you're still looking at an extremely unlikely RNG roll for everything to roll high). The last resort would be for Mario to start taking some Atk level ups. Each of his +2 atk level ups contributes an extra 6.67 to the Clown Car, but then you're risking 100 Super Jumps plus 100 Ultra Jumps not killing Culex. It's extremely tight and maybe TAS only to get lucky enough (and then still hit 200 Jumps the one attempt you get that lucky)

Impressive! I just beat 3D Culex and it took my 30 something turns, and though I assume you’ve had practice this is still genuinely astounding. I imagine being able to correctly time 100 super jumps is quite difficult
I had a TON of practice. The 100 super jumps is NEVER easy. I appreciate the compliment for sure and think everyone can do it. Wish I could have got 3 but there is no room for error.
Indeed, I feel like a lot of people have always slept on Mallow because he is not 'cool' enough for them. I have always liked Mallow anyway due to him being the wizard archetype and I love those. ♥
You should make a video of your characters setups - equipment, accessories (not including user suit since you’re insane and the first I’ve ever seen get 100 jumps), and if you level their stats evenly or if you lean to one attribute more for certain characters.
That's a BIG if to this day even on the SNES version I could barely top even 10 super jump hits and even 1 TIMED hit for Mallow's Star rain move making both useless against 3D Culex here.
Culex: The gap between our powers is impressive indeed. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to take a dozen Tylenol pills and put a bag of ice over my head.
he can't keep getting away with this math time again The Snowy you did at the end of turn 3 brought him down to 991 HP, so with the second Super Jump of 68 doing 1904 (800 less damage than the first Super's 100), and the third one being 69 at 1309 damage (after Water Crystal died and gave everything Magic Force), it's just a Skill Issue away from getting a 3-turn KOing both Culex and the Earth Crystal at the same time. you got it dude
@@sny_guy I mean, the Snowy you did to KO the Earth Crystal would be enough. It was right before Culex did his turn, which is when the turn counter ticks up. You'd just have to get him within a 400 hp window with the Super Jumps.

@@sny_guy Damn, still. That's crazy good. It took me several hours to do 100 Super Jumps once. The odds of me doing 100 then the next time doing 100 again are infinitesimal --- and you're doing it on Culex instead of a Spikey, which doesn't react when hit with a jump.

@sny_guy I had heard the window for hitting Super Jump (after 15) was still 3 frames. But I guess the visuals in the SNES made it harder to tell when you connected. I never got far into the jumps in the original release lol. I wasn't very good at the time.
3 is possible but it’s tough mentally when “all you need” is to finish with 90+ ultra jumps. I just choked at 62 for the 3 turn and just had to walk away 🤣🤣
I forgot I gave Mario the half FP ring instead of Attack Scarf so when I finally beat him in like 30ish turns, I was like 'naaahh im good. I dont wanna try this again for a faster time'

That was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen, I beat him in 39 turns first try with no super suit, but I do have the attack scarf which helped a lot. I didn’t really use super jumps though because I have a hard time getting over like 20 of them lol

How did you do this??? I been trying to get 100 jumps for days now. I get to 50-60 and my finger like fatigues or something and I lose the timing by like a fraction of a second

one thing that you could do is have bowser equipped with the feather (this is so bowser is guaranteed a move at the beginning) you have mario mallow and bowser right off the bat use the super jump to deal as much damage as possible to the wind crystal then use clown car barrage on mallows turn if it goes right the wind crystal should shatter in the first turn and then when its bowsers turn switch to peach and heal up party energizer is actually really useful in buffing mallows star rain while also boosting everyone just have to watch out for shredder
@@sny_guy i ended up realizing that so its actually better to have bowser use the red essence on mallow for this strategy because then peach can be automatically swapped in and revive mario would still have to watch out for shredder though
I don’t see anyone mentioning this, but you could have dropped even more 100x jumps on him, but instead you styled on him with 69, 69, and finally 86’d him with 86 ultra jumps. Bravo, I would never go outside again if I were culex.
It's always fun to see him beat in honestly insane ways. Still remember my first time fighting his pixel version in the snes, rented the game and had no idea walking into his room. i still beat him thanks to the shell armor on peach, but damn this is amazing
It took me 31 turns to beat him in one attempt. But nearly made me sweat when Meteor turned into Final Claw. If I didn't keep Peach alive I would've been done for (Ran out of Pick Me Ups) but Mallow came in clutch for beating him. Glad I used him the whole playthrough. :)
Nice! Just 1 shy of a tie! But I'm nowhere near getting just 4 turns! Final Claw was easy to block once I got the timing, it was just when Culex FIRST did it, He hit Mallow with it and I missed the timing, But near his last chunks of HP, he kept gunning for Peach in my run but by then my Timing for it was up to par.
I always get attacked twice at the beginning of the fight. He uses his meteor attack and then one of the crystals uses the petal attack. All three of my characters get killed before I even have a chance to attack.

Due to how the fight works, it's not posible. Even if you defeat culex turn 1, the crystals will sacrifice themselves to revive him IIRC.

Indeed, I feel like a lot of people have always slept on Mallow because he is not 'cool' enough for them. I have always liked Mallow anyway due to him being the wizard archetype and I love those. ♥
I love Mallow and I was sad because I thought only I liked him.
Mallow was buffed for the remake. Geno was the strongest previously, and also embodied half of the things we found cool as kids
The team buffs you get for keeping up your timed hit chain ended up buffing magic damage by a huge amount anytime Mallow is on screen.
Bro, those 100 jumps are nasty. The most I have got was like 89 and couldn't get there again after like 2 hours. Very cool.

You should make a video of your characters setups - equipment, accessories (not including user suit since you’re insane and the first I’ve ever seen get 100 jumps), and if you level their stats evenly or if you lean to one attribute more for certain characters.

That's a BIG if to this day even on the SNES version I could barely top even 10 super jump hits and even 1 TIMED hit for Mallow's Star rain move making both useless against 3D Culex here.
Swear Mallow was slept on by alot of people in the original.

The Snowy you did at the end of turn 3 brought him down to 991 HP, so with the second Super Jump of 68 doing 1904 (800 less damage than the first Super's 100), and the third one being 69 at 1309 damage (after Water Crystal died and gave everything Magic Force), it's just a Skill Issue away from getting a 3-turn KOing both Culex and the Earth Crystal at the same time.

@@sny_guy I mean, the Snowy you did to KO the Earth Crystal would be enough. It was right before Culex did his turn, which is when the turn counter ticks up. You'd just have to get him within a 400 hp window with the Super Jumps.

I'm in my late 30's and I've been playing this game since I was a kid and it first came out, still never got 100 jumps. :] jealous.
I struggled on SNES. It is actually much easier on this verison.
I just beat 3D Culex. I used some ice/fire bombs, rock candies, party bracers, croaka colas, etc... I think i equipped peach with the trueform pin.

@@sny_guy Damn, still. That's crazy good. It took me several hours to do 100 Super Jumps once. The odds of me doing 100 then the next time doing 100 again are infinitesimal --- and you're doing it on Culex instead of a Spikey, which doesn't react when hit with a jump.

@sny_guy I had heard the window for hitting Super Jump (after 15) was still 3 frames. But I guess the visuals in the SNES made it harder to tell when you connected. I never got far into the jumps in the original release lol. I wasn't very good at the time.

That was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen, I beat him in 39 turns first try with no super suit, but I do have the attack scarf which helped a lot. I didn’t really use super jumps though because I have a hard time getting over like 20 of them lol

one thing that you could do is have bowser equipped with the feather (this is so bowser is guaranteed a move at the beginning) you have mario mallow and bowser right off the bat use the super jump to deal as much damage as possible to the wind crystal then use clown car barrage on mallows turn if it goes right the wind crystal should shatter in the first turn and then when its bowsers turn switch to peach and heal up party energizer is actually really useful in buffing mallows star rain while also boosting everyone just have to watch out for shredder
Red essence is crucial in this strategy. This messes up the tech you are proposing.
@@sny_guy i ended up realizing that so its actually better to have bowser use the red essence on mallow for this strategy because then peach can be automatically swapped in and revive mario would still have to watch out for shredder though
I don’t see anyone mentioning this, but you could have dropped even more 100x jumps on him, but instead you styled on him with 69, 69, and finally 86’d him with 86 ultra jumps. Bravo, I would never go outside again if I were culex.

I played this the other day on my old SNES and I could only do 16 in a row. There was no way I was going to get the scarf or the armor.
I thought that only Mario could equip the Super Suit. I didn't realize that it was like the Lazy Shell armor and anybody could wear it.
Yes! Mallow def needs it for this fight.
It took me 31 turns to beat him in one attempt. But nearly made me sweat when Meteor turned into Final Claw. If I didn't keep Peach alive I would've been done for (Ran out of Pick Me Ups) but Mallow came in clutch for beating him. Glad I used him the whole playthrough. :)
Mallow is soooo good. My first time it took me 30 tries right on the dot!
I found it easier to deal with Final Claw than with Meteor simply because Final Claw can be blocked.
Nice! Just 1 shy of a tie! But I'm nowhere near getting just 4 turns!
Final Claw was easy to block once I got the timing, it was just when Culex FIRST did it, He hit Mallow with it and I missed the timing, But near his last chunks of HP, he kept gunning for Peach in my run but by then my Timing for it was up to par.

I always get attacked twice at the beginning of the fight. He uses his meteor attack and then one of the crystals uses the petal attack. All three of my characters get killed before I even have a chance to attack.
The wind crystal has a speed of 30. Make sure your characters have speed over that. Culex will always go first with Meteor no matter what.
