Donna appears genuinely surprised and touched. Notice how she said goodbye to the original group of strangers, although she didn’t know any of the. That is a person with manners and graciousnesses. All that performing and four children.
The genuine shock when Ralph reveals, and then you can see she’s stunned and overwhelmed with gratitude and affection for those who love her. Watching many seasons of her show, it is heartwarming to see a bit of her personal authenticity.
What an amazing treasure of a program! And speaking of… DONNA REED was an American Treasure all her own! Does anyone remember her filling in on Dallas briefly back in the 80’s?!
She wasn't supposed to be "filling in briefly" on Dallas .. but Barbara Bel Geddes wanted the role of Miss Ellie back, so Donna Reed was fired - she sued and won a nice chunk of change before she died the following year.
Ralph Edwards started out as a CBS radio announcer for Major Bowes' "Original Amateur Hous" in 1938. Then in 1941 he created his own hit show, "Truth or Consequences" that ran on both radio and television. He discovered his replacement, Bob Barker, in 1956. "This is Your Life" began in 1948 for NBC, airing from 1948 through 1961. Although Ralph invaded the privacy of many celebrity guests, he made a strict ruling with his staff: they were never to create a biographical episode about Ralph Edwards. (Penalty was they would immediately be fired.) In later yeas Ralph concentrated on being a television producer and creator.for "Name That Tune" and "The People's Court". He died in 2005 at the age of 92.
What a beautiful and charming woman. She was always a favorite of mine. It is sad to see how America has devolved and become so uncivilized in comparison to such an earnest, honest and hard-working family.
I loved and admired how Donna played Miss.Ellie. I thought she did a wonderful job in Dallas. I also liked how Barbara Bel Geddes played Miss.Ellie as well. I still believe they both brought dignity, respect, and warmth to the character of Miss.Ellie. God Bless - Jason
It was not successful when it first came out and didn't become a cult classic until many years later when it fell into public domain and every station in the country started airing it around Christmas time
Yes back then people wanted to grow up & look like an adult, now they act & look about 13 or 14 & act like they are 5 years old. We have definitely regressed not progressed.
Beyoncé is a MARRIED mom of three with a BILLIONAIRE husband. She gives her all on stage. Pick someone else to degrade, because she is not a bad influence on today’s youth.✌🏿
And “IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE” is NEVER MENTIONED! Imagine how she would have felt to know that that movie is a tradition this many years later! ❤❤❤
The film bombed at box office at that time..
Donna Reed, what a doll, her mum and dad are so lovely. She really comes across exactly as you think she would, just lovely
This was 11 years after she was in "It's a wonderful life". She played an 18 year old girl to age 38 in that movie.
Donna appears genuinely surprised and touched. Notice how she said goodbye to the original group of strangers, although she didn’t know any of the. That is a person with manners and graciousnesses. All that performing and four children.
How wonderful to see her family & friends--I grew up watching "The Donna Reed Show" & enjoyed every minute of it.
The genuine shock when Ralph reveals, and then you can see she’s stunned and overwhelmed with gratitude and affection for those who love her. Watching many seasons of her show, it is heartwarming to see a bit of her personal authenticity.
Donna lived a wonderful life! 😎
Yea, she did.

It’s really nice to see Donna Reed before her Donna Reed show that I only ever saw her in
Donna seemed to be such a genuine, wholesome, humble person, remember her TV show, then IAWL, and her Oscar winning role in FHTE.
So gracious, with classic beauty.

This is so early, even her TV show was six months in the future.
Love THIS IS YOUR LIFE !
My late mother adored her too...
They just do not make them like that anymore...why most of us have forgotten about morals, values & respect.

Absolutely!!!💝💝💝
So beloved forever...
Rip Donna Belle.🙏
I always thought of my mother as a Donna Reed type. She was just like her ..
Thank you so much for posting this! I don't know anyone who didn't like Donna Reed. (Except maybe Larry Hagman of DALLAS). LOL
I guess JR was a jerk in real life too. lol
@@KP-os1jx I agree. I had no idea of this until now. Donna Reed seems to have been wonderful.
Her husband sounds like George Burns.😊
Before he came out & said he was married to her, I thought it was George Burns! 😆
Love Donna Reed
Wow! What a family.
Donna Reed sweeter than Sugar.
What a cl woman Donna Reed was she should have elected the first Queen of America
Best spot of this whole thing was the dove commercial with miss Ann Landers beavers teacher
Good Catch! Her first name was "Alice" though. Ann Landers was "Dear Abby's" sister who also had an advice column.
I was born in February 1958.
Love her always! Jim
Such a lady
Yes Donna Reed was a real lady, they don't have anyone else in programs or movies like that anymore!!💝💝💝
HOW IN THE WORLD did they not mention It's A Wonderful Life?! I'm baffled. 😞
Zero mention of It's A Wonderful Life?
It was not successful when it first came out and didn't become a cult classic until many years later when it fell into public domain and every station in the country started airing it around Christmas time
What a shame if ut wasn't for my family+ my parents I'd never had known what a great movie that is!! So glad they gave it to me!!💝💝💝
Donna Reed was a real lady!! They don't have ladies like her anymore!! What a shame!!!
They knew how to wring out the sap in those days.

Hello
❤
Her husband sounds like George Burns.
Since Donna's from Iowa she would have made a interesting Francesca Johnson on that Iowa farm
Now we have the likes of Beyoncé! No wonder the youth are in the toilet.

Yep.
Beyonce is much classier than a lot of them. Mrgyn the Stallion and Nicky Minaj come to mind,
This has the weirdest set up I’ve ever seen
How?
