Sam was dating Leah when he ended up imprinting on Emily and so he left Leah for Emily, which is why Leah is (rightfully) upset all the time. Also Emily is Leah's cousin as if things couldn't get any worse.

@@ais.t.7872 I think a lot of people including myself were expecting some kind of Jacob/Leah thing to happen since they could bond over their similar experiences in love, but instead the author made... CHOICES about who Jacob ends up with. Someone definitely should have questioned her on some things in the story before it got to the publishing stage.

Not that it makes it better but Sam actually broke up with Leah when he became a wolf because of everything he was going through. It was a short while after when he ran into Emily (who was visiting to look after Leah) and the imprinting happened and Emily rightfully wanted nothing to do with him at first which prompted him getting upset and changing near her.

That's a lot more complicated than that in the books, dude.
I mean on one hand Bella *REALLY IS* in love with Edward. No question. Jacob's feelings are kinda one-sided.
But there's also this small detail that was revealed later in the story. A mystical thing called imprinting. People laugh at it but come on, it's basically magic. So it's no surprise that it goes way beyond logic and science.
Basically both Bella and Jacob were affected by Jacob and Renesme's bond way before Renesme was even conceived. This is why Bella is at ease when Jacob is around. And this is why Jacob falls for Bella. That's the reason.

BTW….if you guys would like to be really disgusted at what the whole Jacob kissing part was really supposed to be just read 1 chapter in the Eclipse book. It’s so much worse and extremely uncomfortable. Because Edward can hear his thoughts we’re made aware that Jacob is pretending to want to go fight to get himself killed in order to panic Bella and manipulate her into being intimate with him against her will. It’s disgusting!
What on earth, I only ever watched the movies and Jacob already gave me the ick. Stephanie Meyers had some of the weirdest plot choices 😭
@marslara It's the fact that this is very realistic. There are so many guys like Jacob that guilt trip women into doing stiff their uncomfortable about doing. They almost always threaten to off themselves unless you date them, have sex or take them back after a breakup. So sick 🤢

20:59 okay but Edward saying "Wait for her to say the words" to Jacob saying "she doesn't know what she wants" is goated. I did read the first book and watched the movies but I could never really get into being a twilight fan because I don't like the romance in this series in general, but that was such a green flag from Edward. Even though he snuck into her room and creepily watched her sleep several times in the first one. At least he didn't kiss Bella without consent and looks down on that. And I like that his reason for being mad wasn't "how dare he touch what's mine" i.e. over-possessiveness, but he's actually angry that Jake touched and kissed Bella without _her_ permission ("wait for her to say the words"), not angry about him touching her in the sense that she's a belonging or something. The romance in this series is kinda ridiculous to me in general, but at least he has respect for her as a person with her own choices. Maybe character development from the stalkery stuff in the first one and straight up leaving without Bella's input and essentially ghosting her (figuratively and literally lol) in the second one?
To clarify what you were talking about in the end, Sam did not imprint on the person he was dating. While he was dating Leah, he imprinted on Emily. That's why it was so bad for Leah.

Fun fact about Victoria: The reason she was so hard to catch and why she tried running away as soon as the wolf attacked Riley, is that her vampire gift is "enhanced self-preservation" so bascially she just has spidey senses that tingle as soon as they sense danger or a threat to her life, resulting in her fleeing and easily evading enemies! It's kinda ironic seeing as how her mate James's gift was "tracking" aka hunting down someone.

I'm so sad that you guys skipped Rosalie's backstory. It's so important for her character and explains why she's been acted that way towards Bella. It showed an entirely different side to her and exposed us to the real Rosalie, not the false image of her that we thought we knew from Bella's perspective.

Victoria’s special ability is “self preservation”. That is why the Cullens and the Wolfs couldn’t catch her, Edward only killed her because her anger overmatched her enhanced intent to flee/escape danger. In the books it was described as if her body naturally found the safest areas to land/move. If you rewatch her fight/chase scenes, you can actually see it happening. Loved the reaction!!!

Honestly, I think they added the forced kiss and his wild temperament because up until this book, Jacob was the much better choice for Bella. In the book, she compares Jacob to the sun - warmth, life and joy. But she compares Edward to a drug that she's addicted to. If Jacob didn't do a quick 180 and become an asshole, I think too many people would have rooted for him. Personally, I didn't like the way either of them turned out lol but these movies are still fun and I will watch every reaction I come across xD

A funny trend I've noticed is that a little of girls that I've talked to (myself included) actually love New Moon and for some it's their favourite movie of the series. While a lot guys that watch the movies seem to hate New Moon and like Eclipse the most. For me, I really connect with the way Bella feels throughout New Moon and the way the movie kind of builds up to her and Edward's reunion at the end. It really focuses on the emotions and relationships between the characters and less so on action and fighting. And I'm a sucker for angst lol

It's also interesting - but their powers feel inspired/connected with their supposed death. Jane has ability to cause pain - almost as, if to get revenge and give others the taste of what she was given. Alec on the other hand has ability to take all or some senses, allowing himself to eliminate pain. A solace for the torture he had to live through.
24:00 Alice can search for the future of specific person, but she also gets random glimpses of what is to come. Especially when it comes to such important moments that are about to risk the lifes of her and her family. Probably because event like that - changes all of the other futures.
Her ability is decision based. She only can see what the intentions of other people are. That's why when Victoria/Riley decided to move - that affected her visions. She has seen some glimpses of this - as Victoria found a way to distance herself. By using a proxy and being wishy-washy about her own decisions - she escaped Alice properly seeing her.
It's a maddening power, which she partly actually had as a human. Main reason why she was in mental institute back then.
27:30 Newborns are instinctual at some level of their frienzy. If someone makes decision last second and the attack isn't easily avoided (like 10 people jumping her) - she is in danger. She also cannot see wolves so they are actually dampening her skill, making it less useful, as she can't predict anything involved them. Including any vampires that fight them. That's also why in books - wolves for most part actually fought in a separate second group, after they lurked half of the newborns away. What she saw was only blank - enemy disappearing from her visions.

45:15 There is a side story book about this girl. Obviously her story ending here. It is however one of the nices parts of the whole series. You can see the improvement Meyers had since the first book (being even further elevated with Midnight Sun and 10th Anniversary genderbent retelling of Twilight, that were only released few years ago).

An information regarding the vampire’s EYES:
Red:human blood drinking vampire
Yellow:animal blood drinking vampire
Black:a vampire that hasn’t hunted/drank blood in a while(usually the colour appears after two weeks of not hunting)
The reason she she asked Jacob to kiss her is bc she didn’t want him to go in to the fight with a bad mindset and potentially being reckless what would’ve get himself killed. And even though she doesn’t love him romantically she does platonically therefore caring about him staying alive.
Sleep being my absolute favorite thing in the world is the one reason I don't think I would like being a vampire.

The yellow eyes mean they fed recently and with animal blood- the red eyes mean they fed on human blood ( like the volturi’s eyes) and black eyes mean it’s been too long since they had any blood and it’s time they hunt to feed themselves….. edward has black eyes in this movie because he’s so worried about bella’s safety that he doesn’t take the time to hunt.

-Edward isn't 160.. He's 110/111 by the time the events of this movie roll around. It is still strange.
-Gold eyes on a vampire means they drink animal blood, Red eyes mean they either drink human blood or are a newborn. Black eyes mean they're hungry.
-It's dangerous because he's like living diamond and he could accidentally crush her during the ... PROCESS lol

So if you read the books I believe in the books their are total chapters dedicated to Jacob’s pov and bellas pov and they kinda go back and forth between the two that’s why new moon is the way it is.
Actually, New Moon is totally on Bella's pov, just like the first book and eclipse (3rd book) as well. It is only on the last and the biggest book that we have Jacob's pov, I believe it was for us to understand a bit about the wolfs and when he imprints in a certain someone to not look so pedo I guess 🤷♀️
