We Built the Ultimate Off Road Tesla

- We bought a totaled dual motor long range Tesla Model 3 and turned it into an off road beast! This Tesla had severe front end damage and a blown pyro fuse so we shipped it to Electrified Garage where @RichRebuilds got busy fixing all the damage to get it in running and driving order before we arrived with our fabrication tools. When we arrived in New Hampshire we took out our Rogue Fab tubing binder and made a custom tube bumper matching the lines of the Tesla Model 3. We also added pod lights and a 12,000 lb winch. Next, we gave the totaled Tesla a 2" lift and Falken Wildpeak off road tires and tested the Tesla off road!
Next time, we will build a full roll cage, spare tire rack and roof tent to make the ultimate off road Tesla!

Best grind hard yet. Love rich rebuilds too. Such a great collaboration. Just needs rock sliders, tube rear bumper, tail lights that mimic the fronts, and a light bar on top. Very well done

Underbody protection is a must. Those cars have been disabled on the road by stones flying up and hitting coolant fittings or battery components.
Love the build and if the back end gets done as well it will be awesome.
Dual motors supposedly don't have that issue because the front motor blocks that part of the battery from debris. Plus there is already a battery shield that can crush cinder block.

@@Sporky0000 The model 3 only has a 3mm aluminum sheet under the modules then a .5" air gap before the modules. No shield or anything.

The model 3 looks incredibly bad-ass with just the headlights and bumper removed.
It would look better with OEM lights but the bumper delete does look nice
@@IllegallyAcquiredKIA Nah that is not de wae for offroading. You gotta have those bolt-on LED lights haha it's just the culture. Plus those shitty stock lights are plastic and will get broken from rocks n stuff. And you can't adjust them as good as the bolt-on ones.

@@honkhonk8009 If John Deere is the model of the dealership future, and I'm afraid it will be, more than 100 years of precedent will be out the window: Tesla will NOT allow you to modify the product. They won't even let you turn a wrench for any reason. You don't own it, you pay for the privilege of using it, then take the depreciation anyway. They get all the bonus of selling, you get none of ownership.

When you run low on power, remember to part next to a CURRANT BUSH. Very handy for off road use.
I love every part of this. PLLEEEAAASE do a mini buggy. Something on the GY6 platform. I'd love to see a 9hp machine like a Tomberlin Crossfire 150 be turned into an electric monster. Like a mini UTV. I think that would be super accessible to a lot of viewers and provide a lot of inspiration and good information.

I tried to find a crashed zero motorcycle to transfer the guts and really overpower it. I had even talked to Rich about it, but he had already given away those parts.

having spent my whole life working on and driving classic cars I'm really proud to say the newest car I ever owned was made in 1972 . It was a Buick skylark and I felt dirty owning it but I made up for that by trading it for a 61 ford falcon .
My newest was a 1999 after owning almost 30 vehicles then this year I got a 2016 and its giving me plenty of problems. Old vehicles are the best👍im mechanically inclined too though
I was trying to think what i like about grind hard and honestly i think its just the use of everything around them and the creative mindset on builds

When welding on the Tesla's is there some type of disconnect for the batteries so you dont possibly blow them up?

Rich talks about the process for getting the car back on the road at the beginning of the video but when you actually look at his video Rich makes it look so easy. All he needed was a few tools and one part and he didn't have to get under the car
