It just needs some traction control programming to behave like it has lockers: always drive or spin all 4 tires when off-roading.
Does the performance have a way of locking the axles?
Theres a slip start option in the menu from the factory that just disables traction control
@@pw383426 you can always override the brake system with mechanical stuff or even separate front cv lockers

Man, I really hope Electrified Garage start manufacturing custom designs for such conversions. Rich is missing out on some things he can exploit. Just like custom builders like Singer specializes in Porsches, Rich can develop specs for a Raptor type EV or that new category like the Cross Turismo.

Stevon definetlly was the mvp on this, he wraped up this build in under 16 minutes, from the 1st call of the plumbers when he just teleported every place just to anwer the call and then calling Rich still teleporting to off roading, that was just incredible Stevon! Uncle Rich is surely proud of you.

That was one of the better recent episodes. I haven't seen the Cyberquad in a while and it looks pretty sweet. It looks like like a few cosmetic changes were done. I was wondering of the the Tesla would have enough ground clearance for that terrain. Too bad it doesn't have a bit more.

Very Cool!! I think what the build needs to be perfect for off road.... a PTZ camera on the front bumper.... it could be triggered similarly to the backup camera, but instead look down from the peak of the nose to more easily see the approach angles and obstacles for the front wheels.
This was so much fun. The coolest toys. Now does this mean we don’t have to buy a cyber truck just convert a model 3 ? Haha great show!

Was it just me or was the AWD awful though. In the beginning he tried putting energy to tires and they wouldn't spin at all so traction control was killing him. Later a tire was lifted and car even if it slightly applied the brakes it was allowing that tire to spin way to fast thus wasting energy. I had an 01 Subaru with a lifted tire and after 1 quick wheel spin the tire completely stopped moving. I've not been in AWD cars for a long time but that didn't seem like a capable off roading system. More like traction for cement for speed and maybe light conditions. It'd did make it pretty far though
@@RiceKillaz I agree and think AWD needs to be adjusted to work on these surfaces, but also the tires make all the difference. Though idea is there. It can be done.
