Omg I randomly found an old sheet of paper with just two words on it in the way I wrote when I was a child, and it read the title of this video. So I typed it in, and I already recognized the thumbnail, I don't know how many times I watched this video back then, but it was a lot, considering I still remember it. It was one of my first RUclips videos I ever watched, and I seemed to like it that much, that I decided to make my older self watch it again, omg even the Wohoo at the end I remember, thanks for your great work man!
that was truely inspirational and absoloutly stunning at the same time truely great finally a good youtube video hard to come across and wow, im subscribing
Every time I'm supposed to be studying for an exam I end up watching dominoes videos (don't ask me why) and after 4 years of career this is the best i've seen so far.
That's great that you and your son enjoy my videos, Sasha! I enjoy the gratification when the chain-reactions are occurring the best, especially when the gadget works perfectly. I do try to have fun creating the gadget as well...
@dudosaur It's actually pretty small, so I had to do this in segments. Be sure to check out Frenetic Kinetics! as it's even more elaborate than this video...
@scyduckzard2007 It's "Eureka", which is Greek for "tell everybody about this video so it goes viral and I never ever have to work a crappy office job ever again", or something like that :)
@jimmymakesyajealous I was trying to work in a Muybridgeoscope into the Wild Card herringbone gadget, but quickly discovered that if I made the frames big enough for the audience to see, then they didn't fall fast enough for the motion to fuse together...
Rube Goldberg is in the corner wimpering and sucking his thumb saying over and over "I'm not worthy. I'm not worthy." Dude, your stuff is soooo awesome! I am here because of watching you on AGT. I was so happy for you that your latest attempt worked. I can't believe you were voted through! Good luck.
@jimmymakesyajealous There's no easy way to tile several small Muybridgeoscopes into a big one--I tested that idea already. No, I'd basically have to find another way to get the frames to drop fast enough for it to work on a large scale. As for themes, that might work for on-site gadgets, but isn't really practical for working on a stage--especially if I'm limited to a short build time and have to work around other acts...
@equinette19 I've definitely considered it. However, herringbones and string-a-lings are so simple that no tutorial is really needed. Stick bombs might need a tutorial, but I'm concerned about people not wearing safety goggles, so I've been reluctant to make one...
@lunatim maybe a serious of small mybridgescopes joined together could create one big one. i also think that you could worked in some themes in the semi-finals (eg. the office). the gadgets are always amazing and its hard to step it up. i think a theme could have done it.
My son and I spend hours a day watching your videos. We always enjoy them. As an adult, however, I have to ask. What do you enjoy more: the anticipation while creating, or the gratification while 'reactions' are occurring?
@missmopox Glad you enjoyed it, missmopox! This took me three months to make. If you want to learn more about stick bombs, check out my video "Xyloexplosives 1001"...
I figured you would be one of those cool acts on AGT that are fun to watch but aren't going to go super far. After watching your youtube videos, you could make finale, easy. Oh, and I'm subscribing. :)

Thanks, Ragnar! This was meant to be a 'Whitman's Sampler' of sorts of my basic kinetic-art techniques...

That's great that you and your son enjoy my videos, Sasha! I enjoy the gratification when the chain-reactions are occurring the best, especially when the gadget works perfectly. I do try to have fun creating the gadget as well...
@2573166 Thanks, 257! I had a small studio, so I had to do this in segments...
@dudosaur It's actually pretty small, so I had to do this in segments. Be sure to check out Frenetic Kinetics! as it's even more elaborate than this video...
Cool!
Thanks, Ignis! I try to avoid too many puns so they don't revoke my Comic License and send me to the Old Jokes' Home ;)
Tragic destruction, yet so concomitantly comic. Genius! WOO-HOO
Awesome work. Really cool.
@LittleDominoDude What's a 'doted toy"?
@scyduckzard2007 It's "Eureka", which is Greek for "tell everybody about this video so it goes viral and I never ever have to work a crappy office job ever again", or something like that :)
@Catchicken89 Thanks, Catchicken! Working with the tiny sticks is a lot more frustrating and accident-prone than popsicle sticks...
@jimmymakesyajealous I was trying to work in a Muybridgeoscope into the Wild Card herringbone gadget, but quickly discovered that if I made the frames big enough for the audience to see, then they didn't fall fast enough for the motion to fuse together...

@QueRocks Thanks, QR--tell all your friends about this!
just wondering, do you use new sticks for each video or do you reuse them?
@equinette19 I've definitely considered it. However, herringbones and string-a-lings are so simple that no tutorial is really needed. Stick bombs might need a tutorial, but I'm concerned about people not wearing safety goggles, so I've been reluctant to make one...

@NDawgHoyt Thanks, NDawg--I hope I make the finals, but it's a long shot...
@Andrey232323 Ah, the collapsing cylinders--those are actually pretty hard to get to fall right...
Thanks, geneo!
My son and I spend hours a day watching your videos. We always enjoy them. As an adult, however, I have to ask. What do you enjoy more: the anticipation while creating, or the gratification while 'reactions' are occurring?
I know you're gone now, Tim, but that was a pro-tier pun, Edifice Wrecks.
