  • Hiking in Norway - Hardanger Plateau.
    Hardangervidda is Europe's biggest plateau and a typical destination for those who are training for winter expeditions. This is my fourth time crossing the plateau but by far the fastest. The Norwegian Tourist Association recommends spending 8 days doing this hike, but it can be done within a couple of days as well. Joining me on this hike is my good friend, Joakim - check out his channel here: / josk114

    That's a manly adventure; full sized packs on skis; cool video.

    Brilliant video, I’m going to Hardangervidda in March to retrace the Hero’s of Telemark route. Not on skis but snowshoes, pulling our gear and towing a military amputee along too. Hopefully we will have great weather too.

      I’m leading an expedition in July for the same Charity to Agder, hiking for 2 days then canoeing along the Araksfjorden and Byglandsfjorden for 5 days and nights. So looking forward to that.

      @@HikingHansen enjoying it is the most important aspect, doing it in 48 hours is a bonus 👍 After that do it in 72 hours and absorb that environment. Any which way I’m incredibly envious, these kind of adventures feed the soul 👍 Enjoy!

      It’s the Saivo (3p) - quite similar to Tarra (2p) though 👍 I love these challenges. It’s actually possible to experience so much and cover great distances even in a couple of days. This won’t be the last long distance project with limited time.

    As you failed, it means you must do it all again. You should have done 60km in the first day. Rather you than me though 😂 I'd have stayed in the first hut you came to and waited until spring time 😂

    Cool movie and trip! I want to do this some day. Why did you not use a pulk? Is this more efficient / convenient? What kind of skis are these?

    • @HikingHansen
      @HikingHansen  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks 😊 It’s a great trip, and worth the struggle. We had an idea that backpack was faster than pulling a pulk. If I were to do it again, I would go for a hybrid like the pullpac from Jemtlander.
      We use backcountry skis from Åsnes, a Norwegian brand 😊

      Having the HMG camera pod on the chest is a good idea if you have four attachments points, but I usually prefer to have it mounted to the hip belt. What’s your thoughts?
