Dude, you are like the only one that posts Apple suite tutorials. Not only are they short and clear, it even helps as a general office apps tutorials. So under rated. like 90% of people shouldn't need to use MS office
Thanks so much. This is really valuable. I've been going through contortions trying to do an autotext letter header which I used to do in Word. I just typed the ad for address and the initials of my street and it automatically inserted a letter head fully formatted and because I only did it once, it was only on the first page.
Great video, as always, Gary! Just this afternoon I was scratching my head, trying to figure out how to do a better header than the obvious sections in Pages.
Great. I have always used Publisher quite successfully. When I purchased my Mac Air, I tried to use pages but had a lot of problems. Having watched this, I think I can use layout to achieve similar documents that I created with Publisher. I am feeling quite hopeful. Thank you from sunny Queensland, Australia.
Thank you!! Thank you! Is it possible to lock a header and footer? This way one can use that as a digital letterhead? I work on a mac and have been trying to convert a letterhead made with pages so that it can also be exported as an MS word doc for windows users to access and use. However, the header and footer areas when opened on the PCs moves and jumbles the original made in pages..
Further to my previous comment, I have watched a few Pages tutorials as well: Pages in Five Minutes and writing processor vs page layout. They also furthered my knowledge and sparked the idea of how to process Publisher like documents with pages. If I can work it out, I will have a more powerful tool to use. Thank you. PS I also learnt how to use my Mac from watching your tutorials. I have been a subscriber for a long time. I appreciate your making these tutorials available for those wishing to learn. Thank you. 🇦🇺😊🦘
Man, I really struggled with the header thing. This helps a ton with that particular problem. It really bothered me to have the letterhead appear so far down the page.
Very informative and clear! Is it posible to have different headers for even and odd pages, like in some books - one with the author name and the other with Chapter or something else? Thanks!
Hey Gary! I'm just wondering if there's a possibility to insert a working and foremost flexible footnote in Pages. If I can do so, could you recommend a tutorial video or a website with the following information? In MC Word, there's no such issue. A footnote is created automatically, thanks to the Zotero extension. But the thing is, I ain't feel like using Word. Hope to get any feedback!
Majority of people already have a professionally designed letterhead image, the key question is how to insert it so the text goes on top of it. No need to do that primitive "design" from pages app
Not sure what you mean by a letterhead image. Do you mean a logo or art? I show that here. But if the "image" has text you should recreate that as text so it looks good when printer (or creating a PDF). Either way, you can just put any image behind text and set the text wrapping for that image to none.
Any video about political and business agreements? Why is easy to export Apple to PDF. But open a PDF into Apple or Export a PDF file to Pages within the Acrobat interface... hey wait a minute! unless you get another owner software who facilitate you the stressless conversions between formats. The fighting of the formats and the companies licenses... is a topic that calls my attention.

I’ve been postponing to create my 2023 letterhead because I have no clear idea how to do it with Pages. Glad this tutorial is here now.

Can you make a video about Habit Tracker in Apple Numbers
I don't know what you mean by that.

How do I recover a page I accidentally deleted??
Edit, Undo. Or, if it was a long time ago, use File, Revert To.

Hi Gary. What was the black box placed in the top left, for?
Not sure what you mean by that.
