Yes, she is the orchestra. Great observation! Besides her extraordinary range her soulful tones become soothing sounds of love when you listen to her sing for you. If you felt some stirring around inside you during the song it's your heart reacting to her voice. What just happened to you, Kris, has happened to thousands upon thousands of people all over the world including yours truly! No one like her and I don't believe there was ever anyone like her! Vocally and artistically she is extraordinary and when you include the emotional connection she makes to each one of us when she sings elevates her to a level reserved for only a few (and I'm being generous). In a side by side performance of Lauren (original singer/writer) and Angelina, Angelina adds little quavers (vibrato) that just animates her vocal so much. I really like the original (a lot) but Angelina just sends me higher and higher! ...a personal hymn with so much feeling...
Lauren wrote this about her relationship with her God. Angelina may have meant this too, but I believe she had another/additional theme. She dedicated the performance to her fans, her Angels. This was a difficult time for her. The pandemic killed all her plans coming after AGT, and as a teenager she may have had doubts, but drew strength from the deep vocal support of her fans. We had faith in her.
You Say At the very end of the Christmas Show on December 23, 2021, Angelina performed "You Say", I lost my breath, and I got chills, and the tears began to fall. I am an atheist, and my faith is in mankind, not some mythical being. I believe the song "You Say" is referring to Angelina's Angles, those that support her in her quest. There must be a supernatural place in the universe, how else can we explain this being called Angelina Jordan. Einstein and Spinoza; God is quite simply the sum total of laws that govern the universe as a whole, the antithesis of chaos, but it still does not explain Angelina Jordan.
