- I've surf fished this beach hundreds of times and this is the first time I've across something like this. Tens of thousands of mussels everywhere! It was like the Mussel Apocalypse! Will the bite be hot or cold?

Hey just found your channel love the videos, love to eat what i catch in ther surf too. I am curious to try these jigs in the surf- ( are they the GOTURE BRAND FROM AMAZON/) what else will bite thESE jigs other than large croackers? also the celilo medium light rod what length is it?
Hey thanks. The jigs I have are the ones from Aorace but honestly they’re all very similar and probably yield similar results.
They catch a wide variety of fish including Perch and Halibut.
As for the rod, I have the 8ft 6in.

The top half of rod is off set and might have caused your line to wrap around the tip of the rod causing your snapped jig I assume. I also got the 20g version of the same jigs and having a blast catching with them.
Yeah I realized the top half was misaligned afterwards. I’m glad you’re enjoying the jigs too. Super great value.

Whoah! So crazy! Hey @fishingfoodie! My wife likes to order mussels when we go out to eat! Why not harvest some of these and cook them up with wine and linguini!?! Is it legal? Safe/healthy?!
Yeah I love mussels too but I would be concerned about eating them in this situation. If I were harvesting them directly from the rocks and the state biotoxin hotline confirmed they were safe to consume, that would be a different story.
While I suspect these mussels got here from pilings being cleaned, I can’t confirm it. Also freshness would be a concern. Not sure how long they’ve been out there. Better safe than sorry.
