Big Baits = Big Fish? HUGE fish caught on tiny bait! Indulgent Caviar & Corbina Dish!

    In low light and overcast conditions the effects of floro are not very effective. Surfperch are also highly aggressive feeders so floro or mono will almost never matter to them. In my experience in southern California saltwater fishing floro carbon is its most effective when fly lining live bait for yellow tail and tuna, when fishing white seabass and halibut.I know a lot tournament saltwater bass guys will use it just to absolutely maximize the number of bites.

      Yes, I have another separate freezer that goes down to -4 degrees. I freeze it at that temp for 7 days which is what is advised to kill any possible parasites. Perch actually don’t have a lot of parasites but I err on the side of caution. It tastes great!

    • @thefishingfoodie

      When I catch them, I use a sabiki rig. The hooks on a sabiki rig already have a fluttering piece of plastic that attracts the fish. Therefore I don’t use bait, just the sabiki rig is enough.

    Great video! Awesome catch, and amazing dishes. Do you recall what lb. test was the leader that the corbina bit on? I’ve caught 15 and 16-inch corbina on 10lb test fluoro, but I often wonder if bigger beans have better vision, and are more wary of heavier leader line.

    • @thefishingfoodie
      @thefishingfoodie 3 месяца назад

      Thanks! I use a 17lb fluoro leader. When I started fishing, I read that Corbina were line shy and that light line was required to catch them (6lb ish). But I’ve found that not to be the case as I never use a leader smaller than 10lb. Good luck!
