I’m 20 years old (born in 2003) I can vividly remember the death of dodgeball in the early 2010s around 2011-15. It was a tragic time
Things started cracking at 25 and dodgeball was how bullies were made to cry like baby
I was raised in the 70s things was different. I was visiting my grandmother and grandfather was a WW2 veteran stormed the beaches of Normandy a real hard ass. I may have him say 3 word my whole life as I was leaveing there house all the sudden I Grandpa come down the steps heading towards me as I was putting my motorcycle helmet on he tapped on my helmet and said " Take Your Dam helmet Off" i did im thinking maybe he wants to say goodbye when got it off he draws back and with a fist knocked the hell out of me. I saw starts. Then I ask him why you hit me Grandpa he said... "I Wanted To See What It Felt Like* now get the hell out of here before I do it again because it felt pretty good😮 lol

Its basically like how the young males have to leave the pride with lions. If they don't it'll fuck up the whole dynamic cause they're gonna test dad and either way it ends bad. Its that testosterone overload. You get older, levels drop a bit but you have experience, you've built muscle and scars over a lifetime of holding down the fort, you know how to tap into that strength and use your adrenaline. The young ones, its pure testosterone and adrenaline. You gotta teach em to harness it all and reel it in.
It's like when you watch boxing or MMA, the dude just standing there waiting for the bell is way more scary than the hyped up and outta control dudes. That dude standing there has been through shit and he's harnessing it all to explode in certain moments. The other dudes are gonna be looking for knockouts with every move.
Now think about all that on a smaller scale and thats how a father and son work. I never tested my dad but I remember being 14, I'd just PR benched 265 and when I got home I looked at my dad and I was like "I bet I could take him"... Then we played some one on one basketball like normal after dinner and he almost put my through the garage door when we went up for a rebound. I definitely got the message. I'm not even sure he meant to, I kinda doubt it because my dad is honest to a fault, but I wasn't testing him again. Sometimes as a young dude you forget your dad is still a guy and you get that athletic ability from him and mom. He was almost 40, still had a 38" vert and was dunking. Teenage boys are stupid as.

Unfortunately, the whole segment isn't cut out as a separate clip, but the song is. It's a little 3 minute improv titled "Josh Wolf & Darwin: Father & Son Emo Duet". FYI not his real son btw, just the host of the podcast who plays his son as one of his characters occasionally

no Brit, its a dominance thing. it in all mammals. and the young bucks do need to be helped past the over load of testosterone. Dad needs to win and clearly win. because it will not only be for tomorrow, but will stop any future fights until hormones and level again.
Yep, we don’t know what it’s like to menstruate… cannot even fathom. They do not understand that a bodybuilder level of testosterone crammed into a brand new body AND MIND will have drastic consequences if not put in check. I would love to explain that with an adult conversation but my son’s erection clogged up his ears and a good smack upside his head will unclog it.

Britt, when you're a teenage boy there comes a time when you feel you are grown up, and physically capable of taking on "the old man" (your dad) and winning. You're tired of his rules, being told what you can and can't do, etc. Of course, you are so, SO wrong, but you give it a shot, and when your dad smacks you, with his adult strength, you realize in that moment just how wrong you were. It's almost a rite of passage for guys. It's a guy thing most women probably don't really get.
Humiliation is the way to get a kid to grasp consequences lol

I graduated high-school 08 we had legit dodge ball tournaments that were open to the public to participate till like 2015 then the cry babies won.
I've thrown hands with my son he learned i learned too don't go upside his hand cause it hurts my hand more than his head so now he knows theres no such thing as a fair fight, he's 19 im August and he's a fat kid he really is but we all large in my family we giants, but im old don't care and i know he won't call the cops
