Since this was two years ago I'm interested to hear if the table being near the wood panel wall caused any issues from welding sparks. I have seen Fireproof blankets that possibly could be mounted on the wall behind and hung from a DIY frame on either side to help with this. I'm a 68 yr old beginnerwith that same table and I ran a dedicated 20 amp circuit receptacle just outside my garage because it seemed to easy to inadvertently start a fire inside.. my Garage is also pretty 'Junked up' due to several Family members sharing my home with my wife and I. We had a House Fire in 2012 and lost almost everything so I guess I'm a little skittish concerning Fires . Anyways thanks for the video and your attention.
I completely understand and agree it’s better safe than sorry. I honestly use it very rarely but have had no issues. I think the welding blanket would be a great idea sir!
Brilliant, I bought one of these type welding benches a year ago and I thought I wanted to do this too but with second thoughts I realised that when I do any serious angle grinding it goes out in the garden......the last thing I want around the inside of my shop is sharp pointy bits of grinding dust, but it's still a brilliant idea.
Very cool.
Brilliant!!! Thanks for sharing. I have been trying to come up wit a solution for my table and this is perfect. Great job.
Thank you very much! I couldn’t find any videos for it online so figured I’d make my own. Haha.
Pretty smart
Thank you! Every once in a while I have a good idea. It’s rare but still happens! Haha
Dude. That is awesome. You're right, the hinge is going to be an issue but I'm sure you can iterate thru it.

Chinese instructions are usually just a picture with the words good luck written in mandarin. 😆
The bar holding your welding helmet.... Did you get it at harbor freight?
It’s from Lowe’s, it’s their Craftsman garage line. I really like for what I use it for!
why does everyone that does a video mumble.. speak up or get a better mic.
