It’s brutal u need 4 separate amps for the buttkicker, they should just make one larger amp for all 4, to cut the costs a little if for nothing else.
Yeah it's stupid that Buttkicker still doesn't have a 4 corner set in their shop with one single amp, like the 4corner kit that slip-angle is selling

Hey Karl, keep the great content coming! I am using a Buttkicker attached to my seat and also added a HF8 Seat Pad (from Next Level Racing) and love the immersion. I am using SimHub software for both, so able to blend the telemetry inputs. Just another option for the community!
I would love you long time if you can help me through this awful process of figuring the buttkicker out. I seriously have no clue what I’m doing and i shouldn’t have purchased it lmao

Hey @KarlGosling, I was thinik about getting only 2 Buttkickers for front and rear mounting. Is the four corner feedback worth the extra price?
BK's are expensive so for some it's worth it for others not mate... but, if you can do 4 then I would!
if you were going to choose slip angle kit, or 4 mini LFE's on the slip angle spring kit, disregarding cost, just overall what has the best feel, what would you pick? im okay with additional cost if it comes with better haptics.
Slip Angle kit mate, 4x BK's is not only expensive it's messy and you gain nothing of significance.
@@KarlGosling no noticeable difference in haptic feedback between the shakers? I figured the BK’s would be able to give a better range of haptic feedback
I recently got the slip angle kit and love it! Shipping to New Zealand was horrendous though lol.
I have just setup my slip angle package, and i am very impressed. Nice kit, the effects are excellent and way too strong for me initially, so pretty sure they will be enough for most. Not finished tuning yet but already very glad i made the purchase. I live in a 1920s house with traditional floor boards, and often race (upstairs) when other half is sleeping in room next door. She says she can just about feel the rumbles from a major crash if awake and aware, but feels and hears nothing when in bed. Im a happy racer :)

@@KarlGoslinginteresting video thank you. However I feel that your own explanation of High Cut was itself confusing and unnecessarily complex. They call it High CUT because it cuts it out. It is the opposite of a High PASS, and deliberately so - It's not an accident; they didn't get anything backwards 🤓
... i guess they could have called it Low Pass instead, but it means the same thing ultimately. If you're trying to tune *out* the *unwanted* elements then "Cut" is semantically more appropriate.
Hi Carl ...great video ...thanks. I have 2 Pro's ...in my Flight Rig. (Slip Angle wouldn't work here???) I want to do front & rear ...the front Kicker is on the structure that the floor mounted stick is on & works superb ...I need to keep it dialed down mind you. However ...I cannot get the rear unit to work. In Hapticonnect setup after choosing "front - rear" I do not see them numbered as yours shows 1 through 4. Should I see 1& 2? ...both only display as Buttkicker ...no number. I run the front in mono until I can get front & rear to both work. Any suggestions? Do they need to be connected ...daisychained?
Looking at adding haptics to my aluminium profile rig but can’t decide if I should add a single ButtKicker Pro or a 4ch Slip-Angle. Almost identical in price, should I go for a single underseat beast or a 4 corner setup!
4 Corner setup is WAY better, much more road detail individual from each wheel.
What is wrong with dayton bst1 or bst2, with 2 nobsound amps? It almost bargain in price difference 1000 pounds vs 200/300 euro. My wall is shaking not just rig with 4 bst2 and 2 nobsound.
I run 5 bst-1 on a prime rig with nobsound amps. I made a power box with all of the the amps and cables in there so only a wall outlet coming out. Thing shakes like crazy and I don’t run it at max. More than enough for most cases.

I would choose a 4 corner setup over a "cushion" style setup any day... feels more realistic to me.

Shakers are a great improves for sim for sure. Im using 8 for 6 years, with simvibe, and now simtools v3. Great video.

Because of your review, I got myself the slip-angle kit and I do love it. Since I already had two Reckhorn BS-200i, I just ordered another pair instead of going with the 4 Daytons, that Slip-Anlge offers.
Now my problem is, I don't really know how to mount the 3-holed Reckhorns onto the 4 holed metal plates of the slip-angle kit on each corner (where the springs are located under)
Any hint or tip would be so much appreciated mate :)

Hi! I’m from Germany as well. When I ordered the kit about a year ago, there weren’t any problems with taxes or customs at all. The shipping’s pretty expensive on its own, though. But no hidden costs or anything.
So what wattage kit is necassary? 100, 200, or the 300? I have a SimLab P1x.

Great video Karl. I'm curious, I currently have a buttkicker but I'm also interested in the Slip Angle package. Does anyone know if both could be run simultaneously through something like Voicemeter Banana? I think it could be an exceptional experience to have the feel of Slip Angle's 4 corners/wheels along with butt kicker's full rig/seat rumble for extra immersion.
Might be able to run all the transducers under an amp/controller with more channels

Slip angle need to have a set that you can install to a diff rig. Like GT omega Titan. Coz i wanted to get a set of four transducers but you cant install it on this type of rig. Bummer
You need to make custom brackets to fit around the tubular design, but if you can't do that yourself then yes you are stuck :(
Do you think this slip angle is going tomwork with nextlevel 3 moving plataform?
If you can bolt the transducers on then yes of course mate!

You know I really wish you would have gone through the setup more in depth with the haptic connect software.
As I showed there nothing there to go through mate.
I cannot emphasize how big a deal the isolators are with the Slip angle kit. I built a 4-way corner haptic setup on my Sim-Lab GT1 Evo 80-20 rig, using discrete buttkicker transducers mounted vertically on each corner, powered by a pair of 150-wpc amps and Simhub. I was really disappointed with the result, it always felt like there just wasn't enough vibration from the transducers before they would start clipping. Everything was connected right and tight, phasing was correct, and levels set in Simhub. Just underwhelming as hell.
Then I realized that the rig was on casters and too tightly coupled to the concrete floor, as a consequence it was dissipating most of the vibe energy into the floor, and not into the rig (seat, wheel, and pedals). To verify this, I put the rig onto some makeshift isolators (multiple layers of plywood and medium density foam) at each corner, and retested. What an enormous difference! I could now run the 'ducers at half the volume as before, and got 2x the vibration at "the seat of the pants". It makes perfect sense, actually.
I have since moved house, and am resetting up my whole rig. The rig is now on a normal floor (not on concrete), and I'll need to isolate the rig vibrations to get maximium effect, as well as in the name of domestic harmony 😊
My slip-angle isolators are on the way, and I'll re-use my buttkicker transducers. I'm also adding some mini-puck 'ducers attached to my Sprint pedals, and a separate buttkicker LFE mounted directly to the seat for that engine throb and gearchange kick. I can hardly wait!
Yeah makes a big difference keeping all that energy where you want it!
The Buttkickers should be far stronger (50 vs 250 watt) and if both installations felt similar, it's because the isolators amplifying the effects (what they do for sure) or the amps of the Buttkickers are not powerful. In case you want four Buttkickers, it's better to buy them without the other stuff for almost half the price and buy a powerful amp with 4 channel outputs. In Germany I would buy the "Fame Audio MS 5004 Endstufe" with 4x 520 watt which could even power 4 big Buttkicker LFE or Concert, but it's the cheapest one I know these days. You still have too many cables, but no USB necessary if the onboard-soundcard still has 7.1 outputs with separate mini-jacks or buy a PCIe or USB 7.1 soundcard.

@@KarlGosling This is a cap from the amp. The Solo-Buttkickers are 150 watt RMS with up to 250 watt power consumption and compare to my Concert they are quite capable, almost similar.
@@Leynad778 Do you think the Buttkickers would be an upgrade in terms of fidelity compared to the Dayton or Reckhorn shakers? I don't really care about the power, as I already turn down my Reckhorns. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to see much in my VR headset ;)
@@unrealracer I was using Sinustech BS250 for years and they are the same as Reckhorn BS-200i just for a lot less. Some guy took both apart and found the same inside. I've upgraded to Buttkicker Minis because I was curious and they were relatively cheap (125 €) at that time. The strength is similar, but the effects seems slightly more refined (or I was imagining it) and certainly less noisy. IMO there are better ways to improve tactile feedback like my passive DIY-suspension and getting closer to your butt by for example bolting them directly to the seat.
@@Leynad778 Thanks for your opinion. Sounds like I'm not missing out on much then. My shakers are mounted directly to the fiberglass seat and heel rest. The latter is mounted to the rig with rubber shock absorbers and the whole rig sits on spring decouplers (similar to the Slip-Angle kit). The noise never bothered me.

I can do you one better they are a Canadian company and they ship the kit direct from China so because I'm in Canada I pay a hefty shipping fee and because they are in Canada I have to pay 15% sales tax on top of that! It sounds great when you say it's $499 but the reality is this would cost double that price after shipping and taxes etc.
I’ve just purchased this kit in the UK and it came to £540 all in with shipping and taxes. Pricey but I still couldn’t get it cheaper by individually sourcing the products because the spring isolators aren’t readily available in the UK

Why don’t buttkicker make a 4 channel amp,I have a alpine 4 channel car amp powered with a 200 watt waterproof power supply and its perfect with 4 dayton bass shakers.
My guess... They don't sell many 4 channel kits because of the price.

Youve missed the boat with this one.If you really play with the frequency range in simhub the buttkicker is unbeatable in the low frequnecies 5hz etc. Even at higher frequencies. The buttkicker range is like a musical instrument compared to the Dayton BST-1. Im in the process of swapping out my Daytons for buttkickers. That 5hz whack on chasis from jump landing in Dirt 2.0 is nowhere near is impactful on my Daytons
5hz?! I don't run anything that low you can feel it oscillating. That's ridiculous! But I'm going to try just for fun! Lol
No way are they going 5hz. I do think simhub is miles better software for tactile feedback. I’m around 14 channels with BIG lfes and tst 429s etc. most important thing about tactical feedback is isolation in the right places

Yeah a bit of a messy setup.
A gamer pro is stronger than the gamer plus and about 3 times stronger than the Dayton BST1s. Gamer pro is 150w and the Dayton 50w. Combining the systems and using two gamer pros and the slip angle isolator springs will be better than 4 of either in my view.
This is something I’d be interested to see. If the pro version is far more noticeable. Or if it just needs to be dialed back due to the extra power
@@DEFBOY35 I had two BST 1s on the back of my profile rig and they were weak. One Gamer Pro is more powerful. That’s with no isolation or anything. I’m interested to see what the slip angle springs would add.
You also need to remember it's not about power after a certain point, 50-100WRMS is plenty for me, I don't need to be unrealistically shaking my rig like there's an earth quake! lol
Yeah, 100%. If you are already happy with the amount of force then all good. I had my two BST1s on a Playseat Trophy originally and it was perfect as the rig was light. I got a profile rig and tried all sorts of locations with them. Both under the pedals and they could barely be felt. Both under the seat and they could be felt but were weak. The Gamer Pro is much better for me and is more similar to how the Daytons were on my lighter rig.
You mention power but you don't realize that after a certain point, all that power becomes rattling.
Slipangle cost me 800 dollars with ship and tax to sweden ;(

Dont buy buttkicker products. Mine stopped working after a little over a year. Have to replace amp, warranty only one year! Dont buy unless you are happy to see it die after a short while! Only help from support was turn it off, or replace it. What a waste of hard earned cash!

Hahah. I had exactly the same sentiment at the start of the video. I wanted to badly to buy a quad pack of them, but they are sold out everywhere in the UK. Of course, I only see Slip Angle now.

At the point you're sepnding well over £1000 for tactile feedback, you may just as well go full hog and get a motion platform.

I had motion (4 actuator setup), removed that and built a high end tactile system. By high end, I mean $6-7K of value (didn’t pay that much though). It’s miles away compared to the scope of what’s in the video. My main point is, I prefer a proper tactile setup over the motion that I had.

2 words that Butt kicker does not like...Dayton Audio lol I have a whole Transducer setup with 3 Dayton Audio BST-1 (think thats the model) and a noob sound amp from Amazon. Butt kickers are just overpriced in my opinion, but yeah the do look nicer. Dayton is more for the DIYer and with time can look just as nice if not better really. It just adds so much to racing games. Engine revs and roads bumps are felt and it's just amazing! Sim hub is the goto for control too no doubt!
