Only just getting into morgan wallen and I'm thinking the exact same thing!
The Dangerous album is easily the best album I have heard (by any artist in any genre) in years. But, as much as I love the album as it was produced, these Dangerous Sessions recordings blow the original away. For a great song to become even greater when it gets stripped down and played acoustically, you know you have something special going on. Now, I wish the whole album could be presented this way. Imagine "Only Thing That's Gone" with Chris Stapleton in an acoustic version. That would be insane. Anyway, let's all hope Morgan keeps his head together and continues creating music we can all enjoy for years to come.

I went to an elementary school wear Morgan Wallens mom teaches. Never thought that her son would become a country star but glad he did. I remember getting home one day and my mom telling me that my teachers son was on The Voice. I couldn't believe that and now he's a big country artist. Crazy how small the world is.

There are some Beltway critics; e.g. NYTimes, WaPost; one in Philidlephia out there writing reviews telling prosepective listeners to bypass Dangerous, because it's so average country. After reading those lyrics above, it's obvious that they're not being honest with themselves or their readers. They're scared of the Mullet Man's explosion that is absolutely justified. Even the best reviews say nothing about how well created and produced the music is on this album. They'd never treat a half as talented hip hop artist this way; guaranteed!

I just wanted to say that living the dream was the first part of my relationship, me on whiskey was the middle and well, more than my hometown was the end, I can't express how wild it is that we can relate these to our every day lives and sometimes it brings me right back to the feeling of breaking apart and I feel since I haven't talked to her as if it was only a dream.

Has anyone else seen the "global" numbers that were published yesterday for "Dangerous" last week's debut. It had only the most dominant album debut in the history of the global chart; and I'm not referring to only country artists. This is a global top 200 chart to include all genres of music. Wallen has nineteen songs in that chart (a record) and something like 27 lifetime (also a record). I'm referring to all artists and the whole globe. It's the number one album in the world, as his fans know it should be. The haters and ho-hummers are in the minority; probably trying to protect their own favs or preconceived biases.
I feel like if this play list of the "sessions" versions were better known to exist around the world, that each video would by 10X viral by now. For instance, there is no way an unbiased listener could watch this version of "Wasted On You" and not see greatness unless one prefers bad music over good.
This is the way this song was meant to be recorded... I never cared too much for the "poppy" MW songs, but sessions like this show how great his songs really are, unencumbered by snap tracks and rap backbeats.

So Billboard's debut numbers are in and they are shattering records. He broke Combs single-week stream record which stood at 103 million. Wallen got 240 million last week for "Dangerous". Even if you discount the extra tracks and take out 18 of them, he still would have gotten the record at or about 105 million streams, but there is some cannibalism there so that's underrated. He also took the overall album sales spot in the nation at 265K equivalent units sold. The best country debut in album sales since Underwood in 2018 who raked in 266K but she got to count some unused concert tickets or something like that which is no longer allowed, and so it's not apples to apples. The only debut in album sales that's been higher over the last year or so from all genres was Swift's "Evermore" that came in at or about 317K units. If you take out rap and hip hop, he had one of the best stream weeks in history for all music in the U.S.; maybe top ten or so, but including all genres, it came in 22nd best ever in history of the U.S. I'd suspect that Canadian numbers are similar, proportionally, as he is a super star there as well.
