    I swear I'm born Italian inside cos even though I'm not an Italian and have never ever been to Italy nor had an authentic Italian meal, I felt nauseous just looking at how each of those food was "corrupted". I've always loved bitter espresso so when I first tasted so-called gourmet coffee, I was silently asking myself, "How can anyone like coffee? It's sour, it taste diluted, there's no body to it". Gosh.....give me a double shot espresso any day. And pineapple on pizza? Who puts pineapple on pizza? Oh and ketchup......is not tomato sauce.

      Food corrupted? If Italians wants to stick to tradition, why not stick to roman bread and just dip that in oil. This is just OTT, if so we should go back to picking berries and eating meat raw. Cooking is evolution, Pizza is also an evolution, if you stick to one recipe for all time, you going to to turn all of us into brits. The only problem I will have is if you call it something that it is not, like a classic italian *insert dish*.

    • @dr.strangelove1601
      @dr.strangelove1601 23 дня назад

      Wine was not corrupted. Homemade wine is usually drinked with ice in summer and in Salento we do “caffè leccese” that is caffè with ice and almonds milk

    We don't drink red wine in summer, or more specifically when it's hot. There are other drinks for that. Like rosé wine or white wine. (I'm French, and the French also don't drink wine with ice cubes. Stop that!)
    White wine and rosé can go down to 6°c minimum while red wine is 12°c minimum.

    Onestamente, tutto questo è piu un insulto alla cultura italiana e alla cucina in generale che uno scherzo. Immaginate di servire ad un giapponese sake mescolato con coca cola, o sushi con la mostarda. O a un coreano kimchi frullato. Ci sono cose che sono semplicemente irrispettose per un certo verso e davvero disgustose per chiunque abbia un minimo di gusto e competenza in cucina. Se poi vi piace mangiare spazzatura fate pure. Ma non c'è certo da andarne fieri. 😢😮

    When I lived in Russia it impressed me a lot that almost every salad I had there had mayonnaise. But to be fair, russian salads aren't typically lettuce or tomato with mayo, but rather potato, carrots and peas. I'm not really a fan of mayonnaise so didn't have a lot of them either way.
    The thing that impressed me the most was the ketchup on pizza... in my country eating pizza with ketchup is super common, though some fancier restaurants won't give you ketchup with your pizza, unless you especifically ask for it.

    Pizza pineapple and ketchup you have to pay me otherwise I won't try it...about mayonnaise it shouldn't be so strange, with salad and chicken there is a recipe with mayonnaise in Italy, I've eaten it a few times.
    ice with wine is a custom of countries that do not have a wine culture, it makes absolutely no sense, water ruins the flavor of the original wine.
    Sometimes wives who did not want to get their husbands drunk put water in the wine, sometimes the husband noticed and got angry (Italians are not drunkards, I was just giving an example) if you want cold wine you put it in the refrigerator or in a bucket of ice.
    And yes it is true that red wine usually should not be chilled.

    Hi. First of all, i love it all but correction: coffee is a Muslim drink originally: an Arab-African/ME drink. In short, this is a beverage that was introduced to the western world by the Muslims. So Italians or French or Americans etc are not the best people to ask re anything to do with coffee, no offense, but it's true, like many other things borrowed from the Arab world and incorporated into European culture, for example Croissant originally introduced by the Turkish in Europe and now considered a French pastry. Just fyi, you know. If i want to know about coffee I'd ask an Arab from Northern Africa or the Middle East.

  • @robert-antoinedenault5901

    For those that hate pineapple or any odd toppings must remember that prior to 1800's tomato (sauce) was never put on anything. Even if it was introduced to Europe in the 1500's, it was considered toxic in Italy. A "real pizza", from it's beginnings (700) until the 1800's never had tomato. 😅

    • @lucapolidori8817
      @lucapolidori8817 24 дня назад +2

      I think you are confusing tomatoes with aubergines. Aubergines were considered toxic by the "Conquistadores", and the Italian name "melanzana" derives from the Spanish "Mala Manzana" (Bad Apple)

    • @robert-antoinedenault5901
      @robert-antoinedenault5901 23 дня назад

      @@lucapolidori8817 no I am not. As a food industry professional, this is commonly known in the field as a historical fact. It was used as a decorative item but perceived (1534 Cortez) by the European nations as toxic. The information is available anywhere. Tomatoes were originally thought to be poisonous on the European continent. Europe’s ruling classes ate and drank mostly on pewter plates and cups which contained high levels of lead. The acidity of the berry reacted with the metal, causing concentrated amounts of lead to seep into food. The use of such fruit on pizza was created in the hands of Raffaele Esposito, in honour of Queen consort of Italy, Margherita.

      Italian here, we don't produce coffe, we import the majority of that from south america from "trusted sources". Than we in Italy transform the raw product in what we consider a good coffee. So the plus here is not the product but the effort to enhance the original taste and the final form.
      Also, the majority of italians (south in particoular) still use the MOKA in house, while the Bar/caffetterie uses different "machines" that are really hard to find ouside of italy.
      In the end, the only accettable way to drink an "everyday coffe" is the espresso if you don't want to look like a coglione or some kind of kid who tries to emulate americans. Nowdays "americano" could also be accetable (depends where you are), but iced coffee is pure blasphemy, if you find it the place is touristic.

    Coffee- not a big deal, also coffee is from Ethiopia originally.
    Mayo in salad- gross, I’d rather have the salad plain.
    Ice in wine- don’t care either way
    Pineapple pizza- don’t care either way. If it tastes good, it tastes food. Same with ketchup.
    The breaking of spaghetti- spaghetti is basically Italian noodles. So to see noodles being broken… I’m against it. I’d still eat it though, no questions asked.

    Argentine here. Sorry my great grandfather from Veneto, but I do like pineapple pizza. And I do put ice on malbec and I do place the wine in the fridge.
    I tend to not put much ice in but in summer you can't drink hot wine, it's horrible. And we have a Spanish mix, sugar lemon and lots of ice, enjoy the Sangria!.
    Ketchup is horrible, mayo in salad only if it is a potato cold salad (Russian salad is called here).
    Coffee is only hot and strong black. That's really dirty water on ice. I'm in summer now and I still drink a black hot coffee for breakfast, after lunch and before nightfall.
    No breaking the pasta, no no no.

      We don't drink red wine in summer, or more specifically when it's hot. There are other drinks for that. Like rosé wine or white wine. (I'm French, and the French also don't drink wine with ice cubes)
      White wine and rosé can go down to 6°c minimum while red wine is 12°c minimum.

      @@GoetheMr We drink red wine always. You can't eat asado without Malbec.
      White wine is mostly a girls drink, though many men drink it, it is usually a cardboard box table cheap white.
      I am a beer guy, but red wine for asados always.
      The ice cubes don't even have a chance to melt before we finish the glass.

    Pizza may have been invented in Italy, but got popular worldwide because of America. Cold coffee was also invented in America, Americans also always break their spaghetti noodles, not sure about the wine, and who the hell puts mayo on salad?

      iced coffee is not really a thing in italy but some people like it. not done that way tho. usually it's shaked with ice and served cold without ice inside, cause melting would make it too watery. much more likely to see iced tea

      Pizza got popular worldwide because it's good. Americans should understand the world doesn't care about them that much. They also break the spaghetti because "they don't fit in the pot", not understanding the unbroken spaghetti will soften up in hot water, and will fit in just fine. I really don't understand why someone would use "Americans do that too" as a justification.
