These guys sounded every bit as good live. They were absolutely AMAZING.

Just found out your channel while searching for more Extol related stuff on RUclips. I love everything these guys have put out and I don't get why some fans "gatekeep" people by saying "don't listen to this" or "this is a bad choice", while The Blueprint Dives is a less aggressive, less complex album, it does still have aggressiveness and complexity, and more importantly it is a freaking well composed album!
I'm all about aggression and complexity in music that's why I mostly listen to metal, so those fast/heavy prog songs are definitely among my favorites but Gloriana is right up there with them!
Anyway thanks for giving these guys more than one chance, I love to discuss bands that I like, but with bands like this reactions are the closest I can get to that.
I'll definitely stick around dude, keep rocking!

Extol is always all over the place musically, in a good way. They even vary ablum to album.

Great video! Extol is awesome! I have seen them live twice when they were here in Finland. I think it was 1999 and 2001 or so. They were awesome live!

Good analysis! Please, listen the last single of them, called "Labyrinth of Ill/Exigency", they released it some weeks ago!

Great analysis of Extol. I think this album is very underrated, slept on as the kids say. It was a gateway for me into death metal when I was 14. Have you reacted to any Black Dahlia Murder? They're one of my all time favorites.

So much quality! Thank you for reacting to this awesome band!
I recommend you react to the song "Unveiling the Obscure", it's amazing, you won't regret it

I got to see them live in the USA back in the day. They sound just like the album! The drummer from Demon Hunter was standing by my brother and I and he said their musicianship almost brought him to tears. I asked one of the guitarists how long it took him to study reading music and he said he didn't read it. He does it all by ear!
The funniest part was one of the really pretty Norse girls (who ran their merch booth) ran into the mosh pit and bloodied some dude's nose LOL. The look on his face was pure shock 😆

Extol is much closer to Death than Sepultura imo

This is the album that got me into metal. By the way the end of the song on the CD does not end with bells, at least the old one I used to have.

Yes, this is the album that got me into metal as well! I don’t know why the ending was changed. I’ve noticed that on a lot of older songs of other artists- parts of the music have changed. I think there are parts of Zao’s ‘Save Yourself From Hell’ are changed from the original as well.

What happened at the end there?!? That's not how the song is on the album.

No Idea, never heard the song before so guess whoever uploaded it messed it up

@@DaveDoesmoviesandmusic If you’re ready for more Extol, check out Ember from this same album. It showcases Ole’s clean singing and the intro is just nuts to try and follow along with, in a good way!

I believe he should venture into another album, perhaps "Grace for Succession" on Synergy, or "Gloriana" from Blueprint Dives.

There are two different releases of Undeceived, pretty sure the Japanese one has that ambient ending on Inferno.
