In my opinion the perfect balance for a remaster is removing the parts that diden't age well, fixing tecnical problems and making It easy to run in modern hardware, like source ports for 90's shooters do
but what about ultra potato pc users doe 😔
@@Josuh It doesn't need to make the graphics better, at Max fix the resolution for modern tvs and uncap the fps
One of my favorite license games gotta be the GBA version of Monster House. Mixes zelda with metroidvania elements, and it's surpringly solid
Actually, with the easy mode of DuckTales Remastered, you have infinite lives, but you get thrown back to the start of the room/division of the level you are in, or to the start of the bossfight if you're playing one.
So I hope that clears things up!
there is actually online play in garfield kart, but in order to use it you have to change the steam properties from the normal release to the multi_test beta release
so who's gonna tell him that Tak was Nick's attempt at an original video game IP years before he even got a show?
You should have played Attack of The Toybots on DS. That version is a genuine classic to me. Fun levels, a better character roster, and a good beat-em-up style.
I hate the DS version.
It has more visual flare but GOD THE GAMEPLAY IS TORTURE!!!
Casually waiting for Danerade to review the chad "Garfield Kart 2:Furious Racing"
FINALLY A LONG AWAITED SEQUEL TO "Some of the Best and Worst Licensed Kids Games"
What do you mean? Garfield Kart is the greatest game of All Time. It makes you really feel like Garfield, it's truly incredible.
I slightly prefer Racing with Ryan, but this is a close second.
*I love when Danerade said "It's reviewin' time!" and reviewed all over the licensed kids games. Truly one of the reviews of all time.*
I don't like "all over the licensed kids" when taken out of context
@@crepeobreak8219 It could've been way worse:
*"...he morbed all over the kids..."* 🤨📸
@@Jack_Saint_Archive you are the type of person who makes me comment on videos :
I make a joke you expend on it and we both have fun and bond under this random goofy video
@@crepeobreak8219 Yeah, it is great. ☺️ Have a nice day 👍
@@Jack_Saint_Archive right now in France it's 10 pm
For licensed games I would recoomend the remastered version of Mickey and the Castle of illusions. While flawed I'd Say the game Is fairly fun. If you want to torture yourself there Is also an official mobile version
I would love to see more of this, I would recommend SpongeBob Lights camera pants, Wall E on Xbox 360, and the new cars driven to win!
I remember when I was like 6 we had duck tails remastered on the Wii U and I had a blast playing through that game, I beat the whole game with like 90% of it beaten, and then after I would restart my progress and beat it again. Man why did I play so much duck tails remastered as a six year old
I loved Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots as a kid, maybe I have a bias towards it but I haven't played it in years. The soundtrack is good though lol (a common trend for bad licensed games).
I always get the sense that the composers care more for the IPs than the developers do.
i like these videos with a bunch of games, short and sweet segments about different games satiates my hunger.
Iceberg 🥶🥶
Fun fact Ari Gibson one of the members of team cherry actually worked on megamind: mega team unite
Man the intro reminder me of my time when i was little and i was watching cartoons like Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, Scooby Doo etc. Thanks for the nostalgia
Danerade always makes bangers, can't wait for the Christmas special (if that comes)
bold of you to think he releases videos on time
@@washingmachine1987 I should have changed it to "(if that (ever) comes)"
Seeing Attack of the Toybots reminded me of Battle for Volcano Island, which I believe a lot of the models were pulled from for Attack of the Toybots (granted BVI's models themselves came from an earlier game...). I recall Battle for Volcano Island having each character play at least a little bit different, and particularly recall the bosses being pretty inventive. However, a quick look through RUclips shows the game to be only about 3 hours long... could be nostalgia making be remember the game being as good as I think it is.
Always a good day when Danerade Uploads 🎉
Sweet! It’s always great to see another danerade video, loved the looney toons opening
Wait Garfield cart doesn't have any form of multiplayer? I could have sworn I saw RT games play it with his subscribers
That’s the sequel
@@solgerWhyIsThereAnAtItLooksBad oh. Of course this hame was made 3 times
I'd love to see more of these in the future, reliving my childhood and getting to feel some secondhand nostalgia is always fun! If you'd like some of my personal suggestions, my sibling and I played the Kung Fu Panda Wii game and Scooby Doo: First Frights (also the Wii version) for many more hours than I care to admit lol.
Why didn’t this show up in my feed..? Been waiting on a video from you, it’s great :D
Another danerade banger incoming
I just love how you have different intros in every videos
A suggestion for another Nickelodeon crossover game to cover is *inhales* SpongeBob SquarePants featuring Nicktoons: Globs of Doom! Specifically the one for the Nintendo DS.
You play as a cast of both heroes and villains from the Nickelodeon cartoon lineup, fighting against a giant orange meteor that threatens all of their worlds.
I remember playing it a lot as a kid and having fun. All the characters are put into pairs and they each have a unique abilities for both puzzle solving and combat.
Also some of the interactions I remember being pretty good. Jimmy Neutron and Dib from Invader Zim team up and I found that funny.
Hope you consider it!
I remember seeing Nicktoons attack of the toybots a lot when I was a kid. Back then I thought it was just a bigger version of Nicktoon Battle for volcano island for the DS. Later in my life I discovered they were two different games and Volcano Island had a bigger GameCube version.
I would love if you could try Battle for Volcano island for the DS. I remember I really liked it as a kid and replayed it a bunch of times. Right now looking back, it probably sucked but as kid i didnt care much cause it was also my first DS game (one of my first games i ever played in general). But even as a kid I always felt like it was lacking and that's why I thought Attack of the toybots was the bigger and better version.
You see in the description where it says "worst?" It should actually say "worse."
"The story is that proffesor calamitus. To do this,"
I don't think you edited this thoroughly enough
Honestly after thanksgiving i needed this
I binge-watched a lot of your videos yesterday lol
Danerade: "Play with save states."
Me: Screw save states!
4:36 I freaked out thinking you got him back from the dead just so he could call you out
Never ask me to play anything other than Wild Animal Racing
i think i had a DS version of the toybots game when I was younger. It was amazing. You could play as two of the cartoon characters and just beat the hell out of everything and there was something like a ultra attack. The bosses were difficult, the level design was good, and the art was lovely. The final boss was actually challenging and took me around five tries to beat him.
The only thing I hated about it were these driving sections just slapped at the end of levels. It was game breaking or glitchy, it was just a pain in the ass to complete, especially this boat level.
and there were mechs coz why not?
Dang what a banger, this video is a master piece of editing.
At my local GameStop the megamind game was there and it was picked 999.99 and….. it’s gone now
If you do another video, please talk about LEGO Star Wars The Complete Saga, one of the most iconic and fondly remembered games of this kind
Nuclear Take: Coraline for Nintendo DS is a good liscenced game in MY opinion because it uses a game format that perfectly fits the themes of the movie, being a Telltale-esque point-and-click adventure, and it’s a good kid’s game because you feel like Coraline herself as she explores the worlds around her. Sure, it’s a one-note game progression wise due to having to stick to the movie’s plot, and some key events of the movie are turned into minigames, but there’s a bonus, which is collecting Buttons as currency to buy cosmetics for Coraline, which are all outfits she wore in the movie! Unfortunately, the Wii/PS2 version suffers the same fate as most other kids games on the Wii, which fills out both criterias of suggestions for next years liscenced kid’s games video.
Great vid, but you need to talk about Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs for the wii
Pretty late to the video, but I would love to see you cover the Toy Story 3 game on Wii. I used to play it a lot and I remember it being very fun, so It’d be pretty cool to see how it holds up critically.
Weird Suggestion but can you do a video on the V-Tech V Smile Games?
4:36 that caught me off guard 🤣
I remember Nicktoons: Battle for Volcano Island being tons of fun as a kid.
Donald Duck goin Qu@ckers is a surprisingly good crash bandicoot clone.
DuckTales Remastered my beloved
It hits different tbh
4:29 I remember seeing this cutscene in my copy of the game.
Next licenced kids game video:
Cartoon network racing (ps2)
Turtles in time (snes)
Cars 2 (wii)
Creature from the krusty krab (gamecube)
Bee movie game (xbox 360)
The intro gave me whiplash - I did not expect that and ngl it's made my da
As soon as I hear doggon dogfight I know it’s gonna be a good video
Ducktales reboots are just as good as their originals, now that's something you don't see everyday.
Fun fact. SOMEONE decided it was a good idea to make a bootleg garfield kart arcade machine
DANERADE VIDEO!! WOOOOO
If there's another part can you mention castle of illusion
NEW DANERADE🤯🤯
I suggest: Treasure Planet (PS2), The Ant Bully (not the GBA version), and Gold and Glory The Road to El Dorado (PS1/Windows).
I’m calling it, the Christmas special or the video after is hello neighbour
Can't wait for everyone to see everyone hold Danerade at gunpoint for not liking Garfield Kart. Poor Danerade...
If you do return to this idea I would love to see you review Madagascar escape 2 Africa for the Nintendo wii. I think you would find it very interesting.
You actually can play the original Ducktales legally in The Disney Afternoon Collection. Just not on the Switch, because Capcom hates Nintendo supposedly.
New vid letssss gooooo
Man i love it when i can't remember the name of a youtuber but youtube backs me up by not showing me any of their content for months... guess i have a backlog now, but man.
what a stunning thumbnail!!
The plug-in caught me off guard 😂
You should talk about Frozen: Olaf’s Quest, and Madagascar 3: The Video Game, both for Nintendo DS.
i want more collabs with terror
4:37 first matpat now Scrooge
Since Tak was in the Nicktoons game, you should review one of his games
0:43 WILL YOU SNAIL CLIP AGAIN YOOOOOOOOOO
DNAERADE GARFIELD KART DOES HAVE ONLINE. YOU HAVE TO ACTIVATE IT IN THE BETAS SECTION OF THE STEAM LAUNCHER
Hey mate, im here to recommend you the Asterix & Obelix XXL games (XXL, XXL 2: Mission Las Vegun, at the Olympic Games)
if you want for a next video of licensed games, the games are good.
12:18 WILD ANIMAL RACING FOR LIFE
13:05 “Jon. I HATE JON!”
-Danerade 2022
(Jon is PGAY(15:02)
The licensed game I remember best from all the ones I played as a kid was Madagascar for PS2. I would ASSUME it stuck out so much because it was at least good (if not great, but let's be realistic with our expectations here), but by that logic it could also be terrible. I'd have to play it as an adult to have an informed opinion on it.
This gonna turn into a big channel I can tell
My favorite Licensed Games:
The Simpsons Hit & Run
Spongebob Squarepants: Battle For Bikini Bottom
Def Jam Fight For NY (If it counts as one)
Shrek 2
Kim Possible: What's the Switch ?
Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game
Disney Channel All-Star Party
Wipeout 3 (Based on the ABC Show)
Lego City Undercover
Space Jam: A New Legacy - The Game
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl
Multiversus
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge
Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway
are the lego games considered licensed kid's games?
Next video you should include Star Wars Republic Commando
I’m sad castle of illusion isn’t here. Because castle of illusion is a classic. I remember playing it for hours and the remaster is amazing! However 5 bucks is a little crazy.
For game suggestions I would recommend Scooby doo and the spooky swamp
Can you do Toy Story 2 for the xbox 360 i remember liking that one as a kid
I like Nick Toybots.
Was one of my weird PS2 games as a kid.
I apologize for the long comment and if it sounds rude, but i hate it when ReMasters and ReMakes are used interchangeably when they are two completely different things. A ReMaster is taking the original version of a game and upscaling the resolution so it looks good being played on modern day televisions.
ReMakes, which is what The Ducktales game technically falls into is where you essentially redo every asset of an older game to make it look fresh as possible. You are not just upscaling the original games' assets, you are making entirely new ones. Crash N-Sane Trilogy, Battle For Bikini Bottom Rehydrated, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Ducktales (PS3), Pokémon FRLG, HGSS, ORAS, and BDSP, and Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for the Switch are all Remakes of varying quality. Whereas games like Tales of Symphonia for PS5, Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition, Kingdom Hearts 1.5-2.8, and the Sly Cooper Collection, were all upscaled versions of the original games and their respective assets. And yes that does include Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition as Japan was the only country to have the extended story for quite a while.
I think the perfect remake is different depending on the game we are talking about. With Spyro or at least the Spyro the Dragon Remake on its own they did a lot to give the Elder Dragons unique aesthetics and costumes where as the original was very limited in its assets and memory thus having to repeat models and colors.
A Remake should basically get the devs asking questions like. "If this technology was available back in during the PS1 era (example) how would the original devs have wanted this game to look like?" And "What cut content of the original game could be repurposed to add to the story or gameplay?"
But it feels like those questions are banned from discussion because people who end up disappointed are seen as whiners when really they can tell a lot of creative peoplein development wanted to do more with the game but were saboutaged by rushed release dates, faulty equipment, changing of development teams and them still expecting to make it by the previously established release date, or lack of financial support from the higher ups and sometimes a combination of all of these. Rather than the limitations of the systems capabilities like in the PS1 or NES eras. Its why i think the Side Scrolling genre has seriously outstayed its welcome for well known IPs like Mario, Sonic, and Mega Man, and i want to see remakes of their earliest games where if the devs at the time had more ideas they wanted to do but couldn't impliment due to the various limitations of the respective systems these IPs originated in, what would they be and what would these worlds look like in 3 dimensions with relatively realistic topography and enviornments, i mean weren't citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom turned into the blocks mario kept breaking in the first freaking game? As for Indie projects i feel like it works as a jumping off point to practice the basics of video game development. Like training wheels that need to be removed when they mastered everything that side scrollers, pixelated top downs, etc. Can offer. That way they can learn how tobalance a completely 3D game. People need to continue challenging themselves or else things get repetitive and stagnant.
Apologies again for being rude.
I am speaking about Toy story 2
I recommend the sequel to Garfield kart. It's a lot better
Viddie’s lines in this video is tear jerking
I need you to do Shrek the Third if you do a third one, in my opinion, it's a perfectly decent kids game.
20:41 Is that a regrow blue?
On the topic of the Ducktales remaster, I think we should start naming games remakes and remasters properly. FF7 remaster is a remake, it changes gameplay entirely compared to the original making it more of a remake. The Last of Us Part 1 remake does nothing to change gameplay past a few minor features, ultimately the highlight are the better graphics, which makes it a remaster.
Wait, I didn’t think terror would be here
I remember getting Garfield Kart Furious Racing on Steam as a gift, its garbage
Honestly a great Wii tie in movie game is Speed Racer the videogame
One thing these games seems to get is the music.
Which makes sense as it is a licensed game.
Stop teasing me with the Will You Snail background footage if you’re not gonna make a video about it🤬
R u and Terror virtual friends. If so how did u guys meet
Finally someone talks about duck tales remastered I love that game so much as a kid
When in doubt, Danerade.
1:53 why it looks like shantae hgh?
Honestly, kinda wish you didn’t start with Attack of the toy bots for the Nicktoons rep, if you want a good (or at least better) Nicktoons story driven game I would go with Battle for Volcano island or maybe Blobs of Doom, though Volcano island is the best Nicktoons story game in my opinion.
Next play spongebob creature from the Krusty Krab Disney universe Scooby-Doo first fright and epic Mickey not epic Mickey and the power of two just epic Mickey oh yeah if you have a GameCube Madagascar the first one. And i’d like to say thank you for all the awesome vids you make. Oh yeah I forgot play spongebob hero pants.
