Well I'd rather have the 1900 because it does both. Never know when you need to sew something.

You can buy a larger hoop for this machine? Not just the 5 X 7?

I have the 9960 w 600 stitches & consider replacing it w the 9985 w 940 stitches. I quilt w my decorative stitches and ppl think its amazing. I started using dec instead of free motion bc i REALLY cant free motion.😄

Thanks 😊 The SE1900 doesn’t cut jump stitches but the SE2000 does.
I could buy 12 Brother SE 1900s for one Viking. Crazy.
brother is very good. Viking will probavly laat much longer and need less repair, BUT, w all the new tech, you don't want your machine to last 50 yrs!

The clear grid is notched to help with accurate placement of your embroidery designs. Be sure to remove it before stitching. I made that mistake once. LOL

Any of the Brother embroidery machines will work. I like the SE1900 and love the SE2000.
I just got this embroidery machine. Are you supposed to use their thread ? So that when it prompts you to grab a different thread number it matches to what the machine is telling you?
You can use any embroidery thread you want. Just plan out your design so you know which color to change to next.
I wonder if we could use the largest hoop as Jim mentionned 5x12. I m curious to know how to use it. I had a try but when comes the moment of embroiderer the hoop was not available on my embroidery machine. Any tips?

I have brother 1900 sewing & embroidery machine. Ordered from Amazon. Believe that was mistake as I can’t get any help. Cannot get screens 2, 3, 8, & 10 designs to come up. When I hit on those screens I get what appears to be a straight line. The other screens are working ok.HELP

Good question. You kind of bunch up the sides. Shoot!! Hard to explain. I'll make another video shortly to show how to do this.

I think she using the wrong foot. That's not the embroidery foot. Also on Terry towel works best with a topping.
Hey how are you. I'm new to embroidery and sewing. How can you tell if the foot is wrong? I'm trying to learn as much as I can about this machine. Thanks in advance
@@ms.kraftykreations5699 the foot she was using I. The video is the zig zag foot for sewing. You need to use the embroidery foot which comes with the machine. With terry cloth, you need to put a stabilizer in the back and also a water soluble stabilizer in the front. Looks like a thin plastic. This keeps the stitches from being hidden by the nap in the terry cloth. Keeps the stitches on top.

Yes, you can, but it needs to be in a PES format to work with the Brother. You can look into digitizing software and learn to do that yourself or you can reach out to services like ZDigitizing. Check them out here:

How does this machine perform with Hatch Embroidery software?

I haven’t had much luck with finding free designs but did find this on Brother’s site www.brother-usa.com/inspiration/projects/sewing-and-embroidery. I’ve also found some very inexpensive ones on Etsy.
