As the northern eyewall of Category 4 Hurricane Ida moved over Lockport, LA, extremely high winds howled as it ripped through the town. Roofs and sheet metal became airborne missles, striking vehicles and surrounding structures. Building insulation rained from the sky and the sound of metal filled the afternoon air. Power poles snapped in half and sent the power lines flying through the air. Sustained winds were well over 100mph.
Great coverage, thank you for what you do.
The sound and the fury is so scary. Praying for everyone in the storm's path.
praying for what from who
We pray for God to intervene He is God in control over the storm, and He comes through to change the situation when we pray 🙌
Praying for the safety of all God's creatures/creations.

The sound of a strong hurricane sounds like a freight train outside your window! Watch out when the horn blows!
First, thank you for your bravery in weathering the storm so that we, who are out of harms way, could see the damage that these powerful storms can do to buildings and signs. Second, it was wise to locate yourself out of the storm surge area, most people die from the surge not the wind. I hope that people were wise enough to evacuate the high threat areas and that life loss will be low. Be safe.
Ditto on your comment. We were in the direct path of hurricane Ike. We drove just 30 miles to another town that had a hotel on very high ground. We stayed there because I was afraid our levy might break, or the water might go over it. It lacked only one foot going over. It’s better to be safe than sorry. No damage to our property, just a few tree branches down and tons of leaves that had been stripped off the limbs that were still on the trees. We were truly blessed. My heart goes out to those who had to weather this storm.
@@TexasRose50........I had the opportunity, although not pleasant, of working on the post Katrina Mississippi recovery plan with the corps of engineers out of Mobile. Saw a lot of things I wish never to see again between Waveland and Pascagoula after that storm. Lots more destruction by surge and waves along that coast. Glad that you evacuated, better safe than sorry. Stay safe and healthy.
Thank you. Just call me a scaredy-cat. But I’m not stupid. Years ago, no matter how little money we had, we always saved enough for gas money and a hotel room for a couple of nights in case of an emergency. And bless your heart for doing what you did. But I bet it made you a stronger man. You take care and be safe and well too. Thanks so much for your reply.
@@TexasRose50 ........bless you and be safe and stay healthy.
Thanks! 🙏
Let's appreciate the courage that they have while making a video in the storm
I can’t decide if you should receive an award or be put in a straight jacket!
I agree lock them up shouldn't be out there .
Live storms media has the best footage... amazing...
To the storm Chasers capturing these moments 🤙
So much sheet metal!
So little time
You all have bigger balls than I do, no way I could stay back and film all of this. Respect
The wind gusts, especially, is where the terrible destruction is done.
Bless all souls there.
Praying! We have a prayer circle going for all of you! God bless all and keep you safe!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💗💗💗
The. mic captured the wailing sounds that you hear for hours when these storms slowly pass overhead.
HI from Istanbul ,Turkey. our hearts goes out to the People of America, we had devastating fires and floods last mouth here in Turkey and still trying to recover, we feel your pain, God help us all
Do you have an armoured vehicles , holy moly
Good Heaven I communicated with a couple of people that were in that storm yesterday. I pray that they are ok. This is devastating.
To the people risking their lives to show this, thank you.
Thank God and The Army of Engineers that the Levies Held. Prayers for all there.
Prayers 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I followed you guys all night last night up until about one o'clock in the morning.... How many boots on the ground do you have?? You got a lot of footage.
The house in the USA are way to flimsy. Maybe they should look into building with cement or concrete like people in the Caribbean does. I have a concrete house and it has survived multiple storms and hurricanes
Build your house with rock and weather the storms….build it with cheap stuff ….eh you get this
Dude this is my home town and at Gusts of 200 MPH would still have been major damage
Bryan wow ! Stay safe ! Leslye Tennessee
@@bryanboudreaux4559 Indeed! You could build a cement walled house But you won’t have cement windows or roof!
@@clutchthecinnamonsergal8493 I live on the beach in MS and we have a concrete home. They sell them and they advertise them for storms. As for my roof, that's not concrete lol
Well earl I'm so glad i boarded up my windows and saved em!!!
Earl: *watches pieces of roof fly everywhere*
Yea.. you sure did save them windows...
You guys do a great job!!
Prayers no one was killed in this storm
Looked like that utility pole was falling on that house
Having known someone who was electrocuted due to a down power line, this is a hard pass for me.
Yes. I saw a sign installer
killed by a power line and it's not something you ever forget.

What kind of car tires are recommended for driving in places where nails, sharp steel, and iron fragments are everywhere? This stuff is amazing.
We’ve been trying to reach you about your roofs extended warranty.
😄😄😄😄
I am impressed with your footage from all these recent lethal climate disasters Do you fly to regions & hunt the storms or how do you gather all this data independently?
you and i are the climate disaster amy
@@johnwhorfin5150 true I've never owned a car have documented climate destruction for much of my life but most ppl do nothing & do not reward sustainable lifestyles or outright censor you = we are the disaster
@@quantumfineartsandfossils2152 yes we should stop praying and realize that we are part of the ecosystem that we rely on, not the overlords.there are no more bugs on my windscreen ever, a little worrying if you ask me
damn! the wind is so strong, I've never seen this before, even during the Hurricane that struck France in early 2000s
They live in hurricane alley yet all the buildings are built out of sheet metal or brick.
Never understood about building with All that Sheet Metal!! With being in the Costal areas!!! Need a lot of Cement! Lord Jesus!! What did the construction 🏗 contractors thinking 🤔?? Hoping while rebuilding New Orleans, La. and the other districts again they will rebuild with more Wisdom in Jesus Name!! I hope everyone there are safe even if they are stranded!!!🤔🌎💪🏽👍🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🤚🏽👍🦁👑🩸🏗👼😇😒
People said that the metals roofing are life time warranty. But, the most damages are metals roofing which are easily blown out/away by hurricane.
Not true at all 🤦♂️
Where are 20 barges and 2 ferry boats!!? They broke loose last night..🥶
I'm glad every power line I've seen in two days of hurricane Ida video watching seemed to be de-energized but now I'm wondering if the power companies in the area did that on purpose as the storm approached to avoid fires and danger to the public? Anybody know?
TOO BAD THESE STORMS CANT TARGET POLITICIANS
"My butt's been wiped" - Biden
Too bad people can't stop themselves from making everything an opportunity to make political wisecracks. It's a sickness
Great shots but I'm seriously nervous about your safety.
I climbed to the top of that water tower as a young man. Would not want to have been up there this pass weekend
You would not have been their long
Since these storms are becoming so frequent, are officials thinking about more protective measures & how to build more robust houses?
Storm shelters. 200 mile per hour winds are going to be dangerous and destructive no matter what.
Recently, my neighbor is the only one put up with metal roofing. After I watched many videos metals roofing are easily target by strong wind.
Not much you can do unless they make em tornado proof. Comes with the territory. If you live on the coast you just accept that someday this will happen and you prepare accordingly.
You see how that water tower goes not have a problem😲If you build things correctly the hurricane would not tear them apart😌
I was thinking the same thing...
I"m sending Prayers to you all.

Quite far, but we'll try our best.
Reaching out now.
Thank you. The people of Louisiana will be suffering from the effects of this devastating storm for a long time to come. They will need lots of help.

Long Live Lockport! The town has been destroyed before by fire and came back .
That said my heart goes out to my native town where I was raised.
I guess a vehicle offers some protection, what are you guys driving?
Crazy. I'm surprised insurance companies will even cover people who live in coastal regions anymore.
The USA needs to start building houses out of concrete Instead of cardboard.
Get ready for the price gauging. I'd take my insurance and move to a free State.

Like beads falling off a string, one thing after another until they know.
Maybe one day they will come up with a better way to fasten sheet metal. Obviously this one doesn't work. Granted, big storm, but still. Plan for it to happen again one day. Maybe use big washers under the screw head?
My family lives in Louisiana and so worried about them haven’t heard from them yet .
Praying for all the families in the storm's path!🙏🙏💗

The entire Power grid is gone
New Orleans is probably chaos
All the cheapy thrown up overhead lines on wooden poles suprise me in areas prone for hurricanes. Seems stupid
do you have a source on that? Or just making it up?
@@buckmurdock2500 they said it on the news
@@johnmurray9526 actually, the question should be is why are utility poles left in service until they fail? 50+ years on some poles and we act surprised when they fail? C'mon man. Where I grew in in Louisiana, utility poles are >65 yrs old. Still has my initials carved in one. Why doesn't the utility company do preventive maintenance? Those poles are rated for ~40 yr replacement.
Entire power grid, lol what a load of sensationalism.

And in that day they shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea; and one looks to the land, behold darkness, and lo, darkness! Distress! And the light shall be darkened by its clouds.
(Isaiah 5:30)
Let us pray instead of quoting. God bless all in the path of this storm.🙏🙏🙏
Hopefully, this will be the end of stick built and single family homes.
Common homes in buildings with underground shelters that are low lying and long make more sense for families to occupy.
There can not be any underground shelters in this state unfortunately. The water table is to low the reason for no basements.
Probably with the pandemic it is going to be hard to rebuild even.
@@gowest5145 2x4's were 11 $ each and 5/8" osb was 80 bucks for a while there too...
An underground shelter in South Louisiana? That's called a pool.
@@melissas4874 yep so many comments from Yankees who don’t even know why in Louisiana we bury our dead in tombs above the ground. South Louisiana ground is like s sponge with the wet seldom more than a foot underground
wow
Amazing Job! Blessings from Panama Republic.
Who in the freak sits in their car filming this?
Better to sit inside the building with no roof?
@@areyoujelton better 2 have evacuated!
I wonder if they emptied that water tower to prevent having so much weight up high and risking it falling over. be interesting to know.

Thankfully not nearly as bad as Laura 2020, Harvey 2017 or especially Katrina 2005.
It seems like they could avoid a lot of damage if building code just required a washer between the fastener and the metal roof...
But why are they still building houses, that are made to blow to pieces, in a hurricane area.
if they didn't want to die they wouldn't call the county a perish
Couple of nails and screws and you'll be good to go. 😁
Metal roofs suck, easily torn off by wind, a dangerous and damaging projectile, you're better off with shingles in hurricane areas...........
Metal roofs actually hold up better in hurricanes. So stfu ?
