You beat me to it, I dunno about you but even a normal person would have thoughts of murdering someone if they saw the one who killed their pet on purpose... pair that with someone who is literally the strongest thing for lightyears and of course murder is guaranteed

It's explicitly stated in the comics series that Debbie wasn't just a pet to Nolan. He was saying those things to convince himself he still believed in Viltrum's dogma. But you can see the hints throughout the animated series that what Debbie thought of him mattered a great deal to Nolan.
I don't even care that the matchup wasn't even fair, it was just cathartic to see Homelander get absolutely humiliated

A very rare Death Battle in which there's nearly no disagreement among fans as to the outcome. And very few viewers were disappointed it was a curb-stomp, since it was so satisfying to see Homelander utterly humiliated and brutally snuffed.
Man I'd love to see him get humiliated like this in the show, this was satisfying

This whole fight literally started by the meme "It was at this moment that he knew. He f*cked up."
To everyone that's saying Homelander took longer than they thought to die; the first part of the fight is the humiliation stage, where Omni-Man is taking his time beating up Homelander because he killed Debbie, essentially deconstructing his ego slowly. The second stage is the part where Homelander threatens to kill Mark. The moment he threatened Mark was the point where Omni-Man stopped playing and immediately ripped him apart.

Omni-Man clearly could have killed Homeboy in the first few seconds. But that's a good rationale for dragging it out longer, since DB still had to entertain their audience.
Omni Man was just annoyed but still held class for Homelander to show him just how weak he was to a real warrior. No he didn't last longer because he was stronger than we thought..He lasted longer because a real Predator was playing with his prey.
I mean we saw at the end Omni man could have easily one shot homelander. It also shows he wasn't even hitting homelander with all his strength
Everyone knew, that Homelander was dead. But man he took a beating.
The first part of the video had me so wrapped up in comparing powers that I completely forgot about the difference in skill for a minute. I thought it was a one-sided fight, but around the time Omni Man told him how to punch I remembered "oh no, this is a sweep on every conceivable level"
Omni man could have one shot homelander. He didn't mainly just to humiliate him and show how pathetic he actually was

Omni Man still strikes me as a super buffed J Jonah Jameson without the podcast than a superman clone. I do like how he "taught" Homelander how to fight before truly breaking him

The outcome was kinda obvious omni man is a trained soldier who’s been fighting for probably decades and homelander has never been in a serious fight his whole life

Nolan is also an elite Viltrumite. Not the very strongest, but high up there. In the comics, Nolan has a reputation for toughness and ferocity even among other Viltrumites.
He's been conquering planets and wiping out entire races for thousands of years lol.
Also, the MASSIVE strength and speed and durability differences.

He was lying to himself. Nolan didn't want to admit it, but he was completely washed out of his Viltrumite traditionalism by living on Earth and having a family. Calling Debbie a pet was a total lie, and an attempt to gaslight himself into sticking to his guns.
I seriously doubt Homelander would be strong enough to even start throwing omniman around
Omni man was letting him think he had a chance, before completely destroying any hope he had left.
You’re right, so Omni man was letting him. Think about it, being in the same universe, Omni man would have Homelander scouted. He would know his public image and his vanity are what he values the most, so he would go for those. Making sure his face never changed through the fight, slooowly showing him how outclassed he is.
The final line in the battle itself is just so raw and satisfying. "Remember what I promised you? Now SWALLOW." Chills, man. And I loved seeing your reaction to it all.
This whole fight has a vibe of "Sit down and listen, son." from Omni-Man
Yea, Nolan and Mean Supreame stalemated each other, as for Debbie…spoilers for the comics but…
Nolan was lying, as we learn later on, he really did love Debbie, his viltrimite heritage just prevented him from admitting it until much later, so post-redemption Nolan at the end of comics would absolutely make homelander suffer for doing that to Debbie
Basically: Omniman was toying with Homelander for killing Debbie, then the bastard threatened to kill Mark. That was when Omniman decided to stop playing.
1:47 The Hammer seems to have the destructive power of a 40K Nova Cannon. After eating two dirrect shots from it, Homelander thinking his laser eyes can even hurt Omni Man is kind of laughable.
For some I never even thought to make that comparison. I have wondered how Viltrumites would fare in 40k

@@robertallan8035All it would take is one viltrumite to start the process, and we already know that drowning one in numbers is a perfectly viable way to take them down. Humanity managed to kill Omni-Man and capture Invincible in at least one timeline, and while it only really worked because Mark was young and inexperienced, there's no saying that the Swarm couldn't pull something similar off. What's more, they'd have stronger bodies to throw at the problem.
@@TheAngryXenite True. And there are a lot of viltrumites later on who are basically fodder, all they need to do is capture or kill one of them and everyone is toast. We haven't even accounted for the tyrannid psykers and such, who could probably hurt/kill/corrupt a weaker one pretty easily that way.
This was such a satisfying Death Battle. Glad you're covering it.
A fact I read about the Viltrumite hearing is that it's not super sonic sound waves that stuns them, but rather it has to be a SPECIFIC frequency, and anything else would do nothing, even at the highest volume(possibly), meaning Homelander was buffed in his super scream, and still got bodied by Omni-Man

A fairly entertaining match that wasn't an immediate stomp. Though honestly I think Home lander might have a more even chance with fighting Monster Girl than Omniman. Mauler Twins maybe, but I think Immortal has much more experience. Hell even Mark could stomp out Home Lander
I love how everyone seems to have the same general reaction to seeing Debbie’s body, the fight was over the moment that was shown XD
After catching up on The Boys, this was really cathartic.
My favorite part is that at 19:47 you can hear Homelander beg "No, please!"
Basically, this fight was like taking a fit adult man who had only ever fought small children and pitting him against an MMA expert.
(Some spoilers ahead for those who haven't read" The Boys Comic)
For me it's reasonable that Hoemlander got killed.
HomeLander is an experience manchild who only plays hero for public image+since he's basically (the strongest hero in The boys) there's no character development or any other way he can be stronger or gain more experience+you can see his lazy even in show he use lasers to kill enemies because that's logical and "easy"
Meanwhile Omniman is literally grew up from Battle Royale and being sent planets to planets to keep that world later for a world domination and even battled many of his own kind and survived.
Homelander got killed by his Own Clone who hasn't even have much of experience and is just waiting to be use specifically waiting for the time to commit his purpose and kill Homelander(the fight ended quickly and the clone got killed by a lot of bullets and crowbar)
In a nutshell Homelander's life ended the moment they got matched
They buffed Homelanders lasers and he still lost. Nice.

Ok that would have just been overkill at that point, and thragg wouldn't have cared about taking his time, he would have just flicked homelander with his finger and his head would turn to paste
That fight would be over in maybe 1 second. Thragg gently flicks Homelander's chin, and his entire upper half is turned to a fine mist.
That would've been way over the terms of overkill. Thragg is far superior and he is the strongest and oldest pure breed Viltrumite of all. Let alone and just put Battle Beast against Homelander. He will use him as a plaything either way.
Hey now, there are multiple companies IRL that have death grips on pop culture and nostalgic media.
And most, if not all, of the big ones would kill to have a true monopoly. They just don't have AS much power as Vought, and thank tustbusting for that.

fun fact: the Tsar bomb could have been at 200 megaton of tnt, which was insane so the Soviets first thought 100 megaton was good and thereafter scaled it down to 50 megaton so that the bomb wouldn't hit mainland USSR while also killing the pilot who dropped the bomb, the pilot still almost died despite the bomb being 50 megaton and had a parachut on the bomb itself
Homelander is one of the most weaker Superman knock-offs. He is only strong because he exists in a world of pushovers, he was never on a actual fight his entire life.
A couple things they got wrong: Omni-Man does love debbie, and viltrimites are only weak to a specific frequency of sound. So, Omni-Man shouldn't have gotten a scratch on him.
