Misty's Togepi!
For my idea, do the History of Mew.
Snivy
Ash Noivern
Ash’s Iconic Totodile
The sinnoh league was my favorite of the leagues. Not only did it have an amazing conclusion to the Ash-Paul rivalry, it also allowed Ash's Pokemon from previous gens to shine. Like Sceptile and Quilava. Seeing Cyndaquil evolve was both surprising and awesome at the same time.
It was truly awesome. I love the pacing of Hoenn as well. Since Ash barely had any Pokemon, most (except Torkoal) got to shine.
Same loved all the old Pokémon coming back and meeting the new ones
Ehh, it only evolved to differentiate itself from Dawn’s Cyndaquil
@@pn2294 isn't Dawn's a Quilava too?
@@zisanalamchowdhuri yep it evolved during the special episodes after ash and Brock left sinnoh
I really wish we would have seen Quilava evolve into a powerful Typhlosion. Not only is it my favorite pokemon, but it really had a lot of potential
Been waiting decades for that :P
Maybe t will in ‘Aim to be a Master’.
Absolutely right
@@krissyvsrobertc3315😢😭😭😞 it didn't
@@supermariogamer1757 The writers still owe Ash a Typhlosion. On top of that, since when did the writers think, until the Sinnoh League, that Cyndaquil was considered to be an excellent replacement for Charizard and still not become a Typhlosion?!
Cyndaquil became my favorite starter of all time and a big reason was seeing Ash have one.
He's just perfect!
I always have a soft spot for Pokemon that ash catches
Same❤
So I'm not alone on this? Awesome!
I’m surprised that Quilava learned Arial Ace, I’d like to see the complete history of Ash’s Krookadile.
Working on it!
It was the first of Ash's non Flying-Type to learn Ariel Ace. Second is Krookodile and third being his Greninja.
@@ProfessorAlexSilver Just do you, and take your time doing it.
@@ProfessorAlexSilver YES PLEASE OMG
It pains me to know that we will never see Ash's Quilava evolve into Typhlosion 😭what could have been...
Anything is possible, as long as the series never stops 😃
@@ProfessorAlexSilver which it will soon
@@jdogmcfly1712 no it’s not stopping we just won’t see anymore of it it can always evolve offscreen with ash if it wanted to
It pains me how underrated Cyndaquil is
They did say that ash is gonna return at some point and that he's not gone forever. which is the reason they left it open in the final episode.
YES!!! My favorite of Ash's fire types finally gets to shine!
Hope you enjoy:)
Cyndaquil was the very first Pokémon I ever started with. So naturally, the species has a special place in my heart. The fact that it’s possibly the cutest starter I’ve ever seen definitely helps. It was such a nice surprise to see it evolve after 400 episodes but I wish that if it was going to evolve that it did so all the way to typhosion so my first fully evolved starter could get the spotlight it deserves more the just twice in the entire anime.
I have the same attachment too the charmander line because charmander was the first Pokémon I chose in the original Pokémon red
@@Rob17Cotton Charizard is my most favorite Pokémon.
The first game I ever owned was Gold, but I got to experience the awesomeness of Charizard when I got my second and third game, yellow and then red.
I think my first official one was Pikachu from yellow, if not counting playing on my brother's red/blue save files
@@ProfessorAlexSilver how poetic
I hope we see Ash’s Quilava evolve into a Typhlosion someday.
Why
It would just be another Charizard
Ash is almost gone
@@IsleptwithjesusNot really, personality wise they’re like badgers
@@JoyBoyGeeze ah ues
Cyndaquil really acted like a hedgehog
And Quilava like a badger
Yes they totally acted like that
I wish Cyndaquil evolved earlier tbh it could’ve been more better in Johto but it’s refreshing seeing in battle during the sinnoh after evolving! Also great vid as usual!
Blame the writers for thinking, up until the Sinnoh League, that Cyndaquil was an excellent replacement for Charizard, not making Quilava a Typhlosion, as well as creating way too much filler episodes in Johto.
Thank you professor for finally doing cyndaquil. I've been waiting so long!
More to come! my pleasure :)
@@ProfessorAlexSilver you do excellent work
I wished both Ash's Quilava and Dawn's Qilava have evolved into Thylosion at last because Meganium and Feraligatrat appeared more in the Pokemon anime Series than Thylosion, like if it's becoming unpopular for the Johto starter Pokemon final evolved form.
I think Ash can take the Johto Typhlosion and Dawn can have the Hisuian Typhlosion.
Oh yes Quilava. I’ve been waiting for this. Back when I was just a cyndaquil, it took a while to charge up its flamethrower which put it in a tight spot easily losing in some battles. After that loss against that girl’s Skamory, Ash trained with cyndaquil to charge up its flames quickly and its attack power. All it had to do was charge up its flames by concentrating hard cause just dodging until the flame was lit wasn’t always going to help. I remember of how it beat Bugby’s Scyher, defeated Pyrice Dewgong with a swift attack while underwater, beat that girl’s Skamory in the second battle, that boy’s Sandslash and battled against Nando’s Armaldo but they both got knocked out ending it in a tie. The moves it used was swift, flamethrower, quick attack, agility, eruption and aerial Ace when it evolved into Quilava. It evolved at the moment when Team Rocket attack before Ash’s next Sinnoh league battle. And eruption was a very powerful move but it gets weaker if the user is at low HP in the video games.
Quilava was one of the Pokémon which took the longest time to evolve. I feel like Ash’s Johto theme was underutilized a lot of the time, especially with a conference at the end of that season. I’m glad it did evolve because Quilava seems like more of a fighter than Cyndaquil. Wish it was used more. But with its evolution, it just means that every fire starter that ashes ever gotten has evolved at least once.
Yes! Ash's Quliava is getting some love!
Hope I did it justice :-)
Love the detailed info 👍🏾
Cyndanquil/ Quilava is one of Ash’s best fire Pokémon
Ash's Cyndaquil was so cute! I wish it stayed unevolved, but it's fine that it did. At least he still has Totodile. Speaking of which, he's the last one of the Johto starters, so I look forward to seeing that video.
Bayleef will be fun too :)
Hey Professor Alex, love your videos. Thank you for sharing knowledge to my childhood :)
Never clicked on a class so fast!! Best starter middle evo!!!
Awesome to hear that :)
*Ash’s Quilava 6/10*
Lumiose Trainer Zac: “I mean, it evolved during Sinnoh... so that's cool.” - From the ‘Every Ash Ketchum Pokémon Reviewed in 10 Words or Less’ video.
Makes sense 😁
Behold everyone, the only Fire starter owned by Ash that doesn't have a abandonment issues. Jokes aside, I honestly think Cyndaquil was the true Johto ace. I think Heracross is strongest overall but I think there's more to an ace than strength. You also have to produce results and Cyndaquil has plenty against foes that probably took a lot of effort to take down. Compare that to Heracross' 2 battles in Johto and it's kinda clear who the real ace is.
Heracross stole the roll over the years, but cyndaquil definitely owned the gyms
Masterfully crafted video professor Silver! Keep it up mate!
Thank you!!!
While it will always be in the shadow of Charizard and Infernape, I will always like Quilava (Cyndaquil). It was adorable and I love its more laid back attitude. It was a good contrast to Charizard in its origin and persona. Hope to see it one last time before Ash wraps things up.
My favorite Gen 2 starter 🥲 Thank you for this!
Dope vid Professor
Appreciate it!
nice!, i wasn't expecting this but it's awesome
Pretty underatted, it tied with armaldo which took out staraptor. I think that's worth some praise, evolution was certainly a surprise that caught me off guard first time
I just discovered your channel and I’m loving it, I would love to see the history of cilans Crustle or Any of James pokemon
Hope you're still enjoying it! I loved covering Chimecho. It's one of my favorites.
man, it's so hard to believe Ash adventures are ending soon. I will be very sad. However I hope we will get to see more of Quilava and hopefully it'll became Typhlosion. I prefer the Johto form, it's one of my favorite pokemons ever, but it's quite obivious it will get the Hisuian form if it will evolve. Anyway excellent video as always, professor.
We present to you Quilava. The only one of Ash’s Fire Starter Pokémon that came to the team without deep Trauma. Seriously weird how all of Ash’s other Frie Starters had some form of trauma, with Charmander and Tepig both being Abandonded by a trainer (and left for dead) after thinking it was too weak, and proving that trainer completely wrong. Chimchar having similar back story of being abandoned (this time by the main rival Paul) asp not quite being left for dead as much as the other two, but suffering from Trauma based on the way it was treated under Paul and this time for being unable to control its “true” strength, and not showing off the strength it gained under Ash until the Sinnoh League. And Ash’s Incinaroar having lost its father figure of Stoutland before joining Ash. Meanwhile Cyndaquil was just chilling before the hunter came out, but Ash caught Cyndaquil before any major mental damage could be done.
Yess your back professor!!!
I forgot how good Quilava was. Even though its not fully evolved, it is one of Ash's best fire type.
We' love your vids keep up the great work
When I played Pokemon Heart Gold a long time ago, I chose Cyndaquil as a starter. I don't remember if I defeated Red or not, but this time around, I will nickname my Cyndaquil. In Pokemon Sword, I defeated all the GYM leaders and even Leon.
Great video of Quilava and good luck for 100K subscribers!
Hopefully I'll hit 100K some day XD
You’re back!!!
Next ash’s Naganadel
Kinda whack that no Johto starters from Ash's team fully evolved into their final stage. It would have awesome to see Ash rocking a Feraligatr or a Meganium.
still hoping for Meganium :)
@@ProfessorAlexSilver We still have 9 more episodes to go to see it come true!
Quilava is my fave starter next to serperior and primarina. Always keep mine as a Quilava
Cyndaquil was my first ever starter, so to see Ash catch one of his own was one of the first eye opening moments and times I ever related to any character. I’m so glad it evolved in Sinnoh, and considering its very laidback personality, a Hisuian Typhlosion would have been the perfect evolution for it. I just wish it could have used Eruption in an actual battle and perhaps even Extrasensory or Lava Plume versus Armaldo.
Nice video alex
So…. I decided recently to watch the Pokémon anime from the beginning. When I was a kid, I watched up through the end of the Battle Frontier, so there is A LOT that I have not seen yet. Anyway… your video reminded me how much I cannot wait to get to Jhoto and see cyndaquil ❤️😍 I just finished the “Battle For the Badge” episode, in which Ash earns the earth badge. I am slowly getting there! :) I am absolutely loving watching the anime and experiencing so much nostalgia. Anyway - yet another great video. I absolutely love your channel! :)
You have a long journey ahead of you :)
Cyndaquil is really and always favorite pokemon in anime.
Awesome video professor 😁
Thanks! 😃
I love Cyndaquil. I chose him as my starter in Pokémon Crystal and Pokémon Soulsilver. Best belated birthday present ever!
I know I comment on this a lot, But I do appreciate the captions on all your videos. being hard of hearing it helps me out a lot.
I think Ash's Quillava is the reason why I ended up liking it out of all the Johto starters. I never got to use one properly because I didn't get to play the Johto games but I was given one in my Diamond game thanks to my favorite Jesse and I had fun using it and leveling it up and battled with it. I'm not sure if Quillava will evolve into Hisuian Typhion because well I don't know.
I’m glad cyndaquil evolved great surprise the sinnoh dropped and that theme was just amazing
Truly was a fun comeback. I just wish we actually got to see its battle in full haha
@@ProfessorAlexSilver same lol
@@ProfessorAlexSilver right there with u
I really like about his old pokemon evolving in different series.
I’d love to see a video of your opinion of Ash leaving the anime! I’m not sure of it fits your content style, but maybe something on Ash or videos on the new trainer’s Pokémon after the new series plays?
Nice Video ☺️
Great video. Happy seeing this on my 30th birthday
Happy birthday!!! I turn 30 this year as well 😤😤
@@ProfessorAlexSilver Thank you! That's great 😁👍🏿
One of my fav of his Pokémon
One of the best pokemon that Ash have used in Johto and The Sinnoh league was his best comeback plus his evolution
Good Quil Hunting was a great episode title
That it was!
The fact how Quilava was the only Hisui starter to be evolved as Rowlet and Oshawott were still in their first stages
I always felt like Cyndaquil should of evolve during Jasmine fight, even phanpy evolving got more screentime as Dolphan cause of Battle Frontier
100%
It seems to me like they have a pretty bad habit of having fire type starters evolve extremely late: first was May's Blaziken, which really should've evolved sooner, being her most used Pokemon by far, it easily could've sooner. After that was Quilava, which was detailed in this video, but because of both how late it evolved and there being more focus on Ash's other Pokemon he owned, it barely got any screentime, which makes me feel like it's evolution wasn't that important to the story overall. Most recently was Ash's Incineroar, which had fainted upon evolving, and since it has literally gotten to do nothing since then, it makes me feel like it has the most wasted potential out of all 3 of them. Granted, it could be argued that all 3 have wasted potential, but I think that's all the more reason why they should've had those Pokemon all evolve sooner than they did, since Quilava and Blaziken barely got to do much more than Incineroar, unfortunately. It's a real shame, too, because they could've done more with them if they got the chance to be shown off more after they each evolved, and that would have made their evolutions feel more meaningful, not just to myself, but to many other people watching the anime, too
Luckily today I'm on time like always great video
Awesome! Thank you!
It was pretty cool for them to revisit Ash's old Pokemon and have them evolve. Maybe we'll get to see Totodile again, and he'll evolve into Croconaw.
In my honest honest opinion, I really, really like this Pokémon video compilation about Ash and this Pokémon character 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂👍👍👍👍👍
Here's One: The History of Iris's Emolga
Already covered :) I think you'll dig it, it's a very fun video :)
@@ProfessorAlexSilver Oh Ok Nevermind
This line is one of the best looking starter evolution lines to date imo
Este video me acaba de alegrar el día :3
🤎🤎
Quilava was pretty solid! Imagine if it evolved into Typhlosion at some point!
Darn, late to class! Always think of the mon as the little Cyndaquill
Cyndaquil is undoubtedly one of the cutest Pokemon in the franchise and although I don't want to take anything away from both cuties Chikorita & Totodile, we could say that it's the poster boy of the Johto region. 😂❤️
The anime in the beginning constantly fought itself on how much of an underdog Ash should be, and this extended to his Pokemon, being mostly unevolved. There were several moments where Cyndaquil should've evolved, like during the gym battle with Jasmine. In fact, none of Ash's Pokemon evolved during Johto except Chikorita.
i love professor silver :)
ngl in The Final chapter of Pokemon I hope Quilava and Pingnite evolves to its final form that would be awesome.
Why does silver have the best voice for this type of content. 💙
Thanks!!
Would love to see Ash's Snivy's complete history sometime!
Hopefully it'll be a Serperior when I cover it XD
@@ProfessorAlexSilver as meowth would say you now should be PUNished 😂
At least Ash is rotating all of his reverses now that’s awesome
It would be neat to see a hisuian variant Pokemon appear in the series, as promotion to legends of arceus. Plus hisuian typhlosion would help Quilava stand out of charizard's shadow, given Charizard is the top Pokemon of Ash's fire types.
Please do some of Ash’s Journeys team! (And/or Krookodile)
Always ❤️ Ashs qualava wish it got more screen time
Wait it took until the sinnoh league for cyndaquil to evolve that has got to be the longest delayed evolution ever
Cyndaquil getting murked by Miltank was the most accurate video game to anime comparison in ANY game, sheesh 🙄
The Spell Of The Unown is my favorite Pokémon movie
I still really like the first two :)
@@ProfessorAlexSilver I actually prefer the 2nd to 1st but I liked The Orange Islands arc
Cyndaquil be dodging in debut episode like Neo in Matrix
Cyndaquil my favorite pokemon. My baby
Cyndiquil is an underrated pokemon since all these new starters. Should of evolved sooner. Would of been cool if it had the same story time to evolve to typhlosion like Infernape, and Charizard.
I would'nt have minded meganium as well :)
Hopefully, we’ll see Satoshi’s (Ash’s) Magmarashi (Quilava) as part of Satoshi’s (Ash’s) team in an episode of Aim to Be a Pokémon Master and evolve into a Bakphoon (Typhlosion).
YES MY BOY!
The fact that we've never gotten Typhlosion in the series is a sick twisted joke.
Now we got Bayleef and Totodile two of Ash's Gen 2 mons as well as Johto starter trio left. and PS. can you place Quilava on the Ash's Gen 2 Pokemon video playlist?
I forgot I made that playlist, I'll add it when I have time 🤣
You should do ashs tortera next pls
Love cyndquil 🎉
Personally I can see quilava becoming the hisuian typhlosion while Paul’s ursuring becoming ursaluna to keep up their rivalry so to speak
You should tackle either giovannis persian or the mewtwo from the first movie i think both would make for an interesting class
Wish Quilava would have fully evolved into Typhlosion. Would have been cool to see Ash own 1 of the Johto starters at each evolutionary stages. Also feel like we’ve never really gotten a great Typhlosion in the anime so feels like a missed opportunity for one of my favorite mons.
Jimmy's Typhlosion?
@@aspebb was more of a spin-off than main series. If he did an arc traveling with ash & co or was a league rival that would work for me.
Do May's skitty, Dawn's Ambipom or Pachirisu next
My 3 favorite Ash Fire starter.
It might not have reached the levels of Charizard and Infernape but this little guy put in work in Johto. Shame he didn't get some time to shine in the Sinnoh Conference
Cyndaquils first appearance is how sandslash became my favorite gen 1 pokemon
Happy Valentine's Day, Professor. Have any special videos for us today?
Unfortunately not, but a new video today! Hope you enjoyed your Valentine's day
A Hot Water Battle summarized:
Chikorita: Totodile you lost the ball and now we can’t play!
Totodile: it ain’t my fault, why’d ya slap me?
Cyndaquil: *what did I do to deserve this???*
Later…
Totodile: Sorry for losing the ball!
Chikorita: Sorry for slapping you, now we’re safe!
Cyndaquil: *still don’t think I deserved this…*
Ngl Cyndaquil gets the short end of the stick amid the three starters. Why they bully my flamin boi?
Nice summary :)
Your like The Bill Nye The Science Guy of Pokémon
Haha thanks!!
Perhaps they waited so long to evolve Cyndaquil into Quilava (and never to Typlosion) because it had no secondary typing unlike Charizard, Infernape, Talonflame and Incineroar!
Perhaps!
Corphish next please, especially after it’s latest episode
I still say Ash's Cyndaquil should've evolved vs Jasmine's Steelix. Happy that it evolved. But man looking back it would've been neat.
I’m surprised it took 10 whole seasons for ash’s cyndaquil to evolve into quilava, from the early johto saga All the way to late sinnoh right before the league started! Fun fact: out of all the 3rd stage evolution stage Johto starters typhlosion was the least seen In the anime a side to the Pokémon chronicles series, speaking of witch I just started watching that 5 days ago and finished it yesterday and it was pretty good. 😊👍
