This is the 10 year anniversary of the heroes vs villains episode that takes part in most of the video.
Even crazier because that was a Thursday, and this is a Wednesday. Perfect coincidental timing.
Level 5 - Going full llama
this is amazing
It’s always refreshing to comb through Parvati’s intelligence. We love to see it.
We really do.
When u put level -1 over J.T’s head was hilarious
Raymond ballantyne JT is truly nothing without Stephen
I can hear Jeff introducing you now!
"This guy is do dedicated to Survivor, he runs a RUclips channel with over 60 *thousand* subscribers. Will it pay off?"
Narrator: It did not pay off.
63.4 million, excuse you
honestly they should do a survivor youtuber season
A few episodes later...
You’ve applied & don’t get invited to anything?
"Jeff Probst, the Tribe has Spoken"
Jeff: "You got me good Peridiam, I should've been playing at level 4."
I see Peridiam, I immediately click. I see Parv in thumbnail, I automatically hit like.
Sammmeee. She's still married tho to the guy who didn't share apple pie 😂
@@TheIncredible_Panda2214 this didn’t age well… still love Parv ❤❤
@@aldckenz yeahhhh. And same here.
I forget who said this in an RHAP interview - it might have been Boston Rob. But whoever it was outlined his theory of "4 levels of thought." It's similar but not exactly the same as what you've outline here.
The first level of thought was "What is the best move for me to make?" Here, you basically identify the best thing that you could do if everything works out for you.
The second level of thought is "What is the best POSSIBLE move for me to make?" Obviously some people you'd need for the best move aren't gonna work with you, so here you have to think about what people will realistically go for.
The third is "What is everyone else's best possible move for themselves?" Here you get into trying to predict what could potentially go wrong for you and how you might be outplayed.
And lastly, "Is everyone else smart enough to figure out their best possible move?" Sometimes people do stupid things and they don't do what is in their best interests, which makes manipulating weaker players sometimes more difficult than manipulating stronger ones.
"So clearly I can't choose the wine in front of me."
Room Escape Artist YOU’D LIKE TO THINK THAT WOULDN’T YOU
Room Escape Artist Haha, nice
perfect.
Inconceivable
@@casiangray you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Did J.T. dirty with the -1 above his head lmao
Oh no, he so deserves it. Giving an immunity idol to Russell on the Villians tribe when he didn't even know him or see him play yet was so stupid. Karma strikes again.
Kailei M it looks like a dumb move in hindsight, but only because it blew up so badly in his face. Them not seeing Russell’s season played a huge role in it obviously. If that move works and Russell joins them, the heroes have a stranglehold on the game and JT is probably a 2 time winner. As viewers, we look and say it’s stupid; why would you ever give up immunity and ESPECIALLY give an idol to Russell Hantz?! But it was honestly not a bad thought, he just didn’t know enough/anything about Russell which was his downfall. His play in Game Changers, however, was atrocious though and really hurt his legacy along with the infamous HvV move. Just my thoughts on it.
@@steeljojo3729 SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK
As a brilliant woman known as Pheobe Buffay once said...
"They dont know, we know, they know, we know!"
This is the level of thinking sometimes required in the game of Survivor!
exactly what i thought of watching this video haha
A key point is that in poker (and if you apply it to survivor) you can be on the "wrong level" when making a read. However, sometimes you can be one level TOO HIGH and screw yourself over. It's not just a matter of level 1 = stupid , level 4 = smart. It's a matter of understanding on what level is the thinking at that moment from your opponent. You may underestimate them, and you may overestimate them. If you correctly identify what level they are thinking on, you can predict their play.
Yep, exactly. It's not about being on the highest level at all times.
Peridiam another interesting theory is purposely basing your moves on lower level principles against higher level players who think that your a 3 so they want to play at level 4 but you make a move at a level 1 or 2 screwing them up. Lol survivor truly is ridiculously hard
I genuinely forgot which Day it was and needed a Peridiam vedio to remind me it's Wednesday with Survivor new episode tomorrow (timeline in my country)
Philip Thomas now that you say it I completely forgot what day it was
Me too!! Thursday morning is my survivor time (England)
Lmao that one tribal council when james talked about banana etiquette was absolutely hilarious
I think Tony is going to go crazy this episode
Brian McPhee no shit
@@commercialbreak9531 Agreed. I've been feeling a Sarah boot since the merge and her time is running short. Either she goes tonight or next week.
@@commercialbreak9531I have to agree with you. Due to the edit they are getting its most likely either Sarah or Sophie.
Isaac Guerrero its Sophie Jeremy or Kim
good prediction lol
Level 1: we know
Level 2: we know they know
Level 3: they don’t know we know they know
Level 4: we know they know we know they know
Level 5: THEY DONT KNOW WE KNOW THEY KNOW WE KNOW THEY KNOW
That's terrifying
Okay Pheebs
Level 6: “I know you know that I’m not telling the truth”
Joey, don’t tell them!
Love friends
Jeremy: Us meatshields need to stick together.
Tony: Lemme build a spyshack real quick.
Ben: YeAhHhH!!!
Ben is such a treasure
RIP Yul, he let on that he was thinking too far ahead :(
Yul plays like aizen
I think another good example is when Spencer played his idol on himself in Cagayan instead of playing it for Jeremiah. Kass knew Spencer had an idol but didn’t expect him to give it away to Jeremiah (level 2), Spencer debated whether or not to play it for himself or Jeremiah, he figured they knew he had it, but didn’t know who they thought he would play it on. If he knew that they expected him to play it on himself, he could have played it for Jeremiah (level 3), if kass alliance (well technically tony) thought that Spencer expected them to vote for Jeremiah, they could have voted for Spencer (level 4). And then you also gotta throw in that Spencer had to consider himself being a bigger threat than Jeremiah and that the opposition would rather have him gone (not sure what level that it)
Cagayan is one of the best seasons on the show.
Kass&Tony alliance was just thinking practical in this particular event. They knew that Spencer is too selfish enough to take risk and play his idol for Jeremiah. So they voted for Jeremiah. And they were right, Spencer played it for himself.
Kass & Tony's alliance would have been thinking at level 5 then, since they voted for Jeremiah instead of him.
You need to apply
Peridiam, honestly Shook at this video. Congrats and thank you so much.
That idea about explaining each game play at level 0 thru 4 in each season is something you can totally do and you'd have videos for years lol.
Again, Thank you so much for this. Wow.
Tony is gonna build a spy shack
He already did we saw it a while ago and nobody fell for it
at this point i wouldn’t be surprised if tony builds an underwater spy headquarters
Something tells me Tony may be thinking in levels tonight
Love the pause on Kim "and that right there is so vital to the game of Survivor...". Yes she is our queen and shall be worshipped.
Quick question was Fabio the most successful level 0 player in survivor or was he the greatest level 100 player who had everything figured out 😂
He was the greatest level 100
You know, that is a great question. I remember his season I was waiting for him to breakout into this genius at the end. Never happened. Just a lucky Level 0 guy.
The ultimate thinking is the strongest weapon. I've heard somewhere, that Boston Rob was talking about the ultimate boss strategy, which is, every night before going to sleep, you have to consider every possible best or worst case scenario of every player, still left in the game. Probably it's in BR's rule book but, i think that's the best thinking you can have.
When you mentioned level 3 I immediately thought of that exact Parvati move on HvV. I just rewatched that episode a few days ago and it still blows my mind that she anticipated the Jerri votes. Wow.
13:45 Best player 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Level 5
This is why Parvati was robbed. She ruled the game with Russel and even with the biggest target, she managed to get to the final. GOAT
Cristiano Novo Look Russell manipulated everyone made a strong alliance with Parv which he convinced to work with him by playing two idols on her, the problem is he was really rude with everyone and ultimately no one wanted to see him win, but if were thinking only gameplay, Russell should have won. Then, the clear number 2 was Parv, because she was indirectly in control of the game and also made a big move with the JT blindside. Sandra didn’t do shit the whole game and got carried to the final, because she did nothing for the second time and somehow won for the second time which is dumb. She isn’t the ultimate Survivor Queen, she is the ultimate Survivor Goat
@@mrstealyoting4940 this season confirmed Sandra isn't a good player. 0 strategy, 0 challenge ability and really emotional. I won't even talk about Sandra quitting Edge. I love Sandra as a character but as a player, she is far from the best.
Cristiano Novo I don’t blame her for quitting it must be really hard out there and she had no chances in the challenges, after all it’s her decision she has 4 children (I think) but it doesn’t take away the fact she would have NEVER won her 2 seasons and is literally an average Survivor player
Cristiano Novo Sandra had no strategy? Remember when she convinced Russell that Coach was against him, so she could keep her ally Courtney
The fact she had two bitter juries in two seasons is incredible. I accept her win in Pearl Islands because Lil made herself a goat and people liked Sandra's character. But in HvV, Sandra winning against Parvati is a disgrace. Even Russell deserved more.
No one is asking the real question. Could the tribe vote out Jeff at Tribal?
I think they tried that in season 1
That shade thrown on J.T. though

You love the clip of Chet diving into the water don't you.😂😂
On the third watch taking copious notes, I finally understand
This was an awesome video, very informative and well put together! :)
This is such a great video! I love hearing other people’s thoughts when it comes to breaking down these games. Not sure if you take them but here’s some video ideas I’d love to see. “Big Brother & Survivor Archetypes. Types Of Competitions and Strategies For Excelling.”
you are blessing us once again before the episode..bravo.
I love your channel! you explain everything so nicely.
"What if I have to blindside Jeff Probst on day one?"
I'm dying
Great content! I was super invested in this theory I had never heard of😂
Loved this video thanks peridiam, keep up the great content
"They don't know we know they know."
I cant say i have watched all your videos. But I have to say this gotta be your absolute best.
I would LOVE to see a follow up video analyzing every Survivor winner and what level of thought they mainly played at!
I would love some other videos like this where you explain the strategy behind the biggest moved in survivor in this way!
Loved the -1 you gave JT. Absolutely brilliant.
I would love to see a full breakdown of each of the big players and what level of thought they were playing at.
Deep dive this please!! 😃
a video on successful higher level thinking would be so fun!
I am so hyped for today’s episode
The most difficult part of this game is sometime the move to do is level 0 and it's well played.
I would love a video analyzing the best moments of level 4 gameplay!!!
There's a group in Perth, Western Australia that run a Backyard version of Survivor and its awesome because the challenges aren't as physically demanding the emphasis is far more on the mental and social aspects. I'm sure there are BY Survivors run in other states/countries too, I think it's a brilliant concept! It's on RUclips for anyone who is interested 😊
Great video peridiam
I watched this before going to bed last night, and then in my dream, I had to use multiple levels of thought to reason something (I was figuring out that some magical birds were spying on us) and nobody knew what I was talking about. Good video
Great video. I hope you cover Sequester some time in the future.
I do hope you make that video. I love getting inside people's brain when it comes to survivor
The reads in the video are everything!
Great video Prim!
already liked the video and watching.
I really like this video, pretty different but super interesting...thanks for sharing ;)
I think the perfect strategy is making an alliance of 5 with two meat shields and 2 goats and be the hinge. Then trying to convince all of our vote offs post merge to be non alliance goats. This makes it tough for my meat shields to flip because they would have to flip to other meat shields instead of other goats.
Obviously that's a basic strategy and idols and multi level gameplay would have to be considered as they come up
Peridiam: "Level 4 is realistically the highest level you will ev-"
Tyler, Kaycee, Angela, and Brett: "We call this move 'two steps ahead'"
I actually wanted to bring Tyler up at the end when I mentioned being two steps ahead and how it’s not always necessary. Definitely a reference to his double eviction speech.
Great contain as always
Nerd fan meta-meta-strategizing for if you had to play:
#1 thing to keep in mind is what you can realistically pull off, and pull off well. A bad plan with good execution beats a good plan with bad execution.
The biggest question for survivor strategy nerds is how much you should reveal about your survivor strategy/meta thinking. I generally think how much of this you show really depends on your strategy and where you "rank" in your alliance. If you can lead showing all you want is probably fine, but as you go further down the rankings it makes you seem increasingly shifty and makes it more likely to make them cut you. Mastermind leader can work out, mastermind bottom of the alliance is too dangerous, and the more meta you show the more mastermind you will appear by default. If you're bottom you probably want to seem as dumb as possible, since it makes you less of a threat and you don't have as much power to apply your strategy anyway. I don't think I could 100% hide my nerdiness anyway, and small slip ups would look sinister, so I would have to plan for that.
I'm not very talkative by nature, so my goal is usually to appear as hardworking and clever, not intelligent or smart. That would be my approach to survivor, try to be a middle of the pack player who try's hard and has a bunch of dumb tricks. Convincing people to do the right things for the wrong reasons is a great skill, get the tribe to do the right meta-strategies and tactics without indicating meta-thinking if possible. I would try to be the right hand of a dominant player if possible, and go from there. It would mean my biggest threats would be bottom up betrayals and idols, I think the vast majority of eliminations are by the book: outside of alliance and weakest players first, the exceptions stand out to fans due to the drama. You could probably check that with math.
Hey I think you do a good job with all your videos i like them and think you are a reasonable man and have have a good mind
I'd love to hear about what level everyone was playing on at certain parts of their game and stuff, might be a ton of work but if you'd find it fun it'll be so fun to watch ahah
Well, damn. It's almost like Peridiam watched episode 11 of Winners at War before the rest of us did.
is it safe to say that Tony is a Level 4?
[Spoilers]
He clearly knows how he is perceived and how others are playing. Wow. Episode 11 of WaW is the best yet, my heart was pounding for Kim and Denise. There were no advantages and the crazy man had all the immunities.
They need to do a Superfan season so all the galaxy brains can just absolutely go at it and confuse everyone
"Inconceivable!!!"
Perdiam's Guide to Survivor: Outwit them but make them think they are outwiting you.
Nobody is going to talk about how he edited Ben's "YYYEEeaaahhh" at the end of the video?
Truly insight full i would love it if you could demonstrate exemple with player
Perediam’s a legend
Great video
Do a vid breaking down some level 3 and 4 plays in survivor history
Peridiam for president!
Omg that negative 1 above JT made my week😂
Can we get a video with examples on how to identify what level someone is playing at when on survivor?
I see a video from peridiam- I click
I see a video from peridiam with season 20 cast- I click even faster
LOLZ at the caption for this video!
This is such a relevant theory, and you explained it so well. That being said, I would hate to play against you 😂
Shit i saw it again 😂 Todd holding his hilarious laugh when James voted out with two idol in his bag
The -1 over JT took me out 😭
Daniel Charlton I've just subscribed to you're channel please say thank you
King Free you’re welcome
You skipped one bit of Parvati's part.
Danielle was also a possible vote, so Parvati threw the challenge to make sure that doesn't happen, knowing she was the least likely target. She also deduced Russell had been exposed as someone in an alliance with her, making him the most likely other person she could play an idol for. She narrowed the choices down from 4 to 2 with critical thinking alone.
This is some princess bride kinda mind games
You have to split the players into 4 groups. 1) Players I can't beat and that will never vote for me, they go 1st. 2) Players that I can beat and that will never vote for me. 3) Players that I can't beat but are more likely to vote for me, and lastly 4) Players I can beat and they will most likely vote for me. This way you reduce the number of Jurors who will never vote for you for whatever reason. If the "will never vote for me" group gets to big, you can always drag two nr3 players to the end as goats. Voting of all your fans in the beginning and having a hostile jury is just a waste of 39 days.
chet diving is THE FUNNIEST THING EVERRRRR
This strat is bananas (B-A-N-A-N-A-S)
THIS STRAT IS BANANAS
乃-卂-几-卂-几-卂-丂
The -1 on JP at 14:42 was gold 😂 Parvati showing JP why she’s the queen of survivor (my opinion) 👑
DO MORE ARCHETYPES!!!!!
You should put all players or all winners or something liek that in tiers like F-A+
I know it would take some time but I think it would be cool to see how you would rank some of the players
Cool video you´ve made Paul Rudd, I did not know you´re a fan of the show!
I’d love to play against you in an online Survivor just sayin 😈 love your thoughts and insight into the game. Us super fans love u ❤️
I'm pretty sure that Peridiam knows the perfect Survivor strategy, but he doesn't want to reveal it on video in case he goes on Survivor and ends up competing with one of his viewers
That would be a hilarious season: Peridiam against his subscribers.
Good video. I would say the one exception to not playing multi levels above everyone else was Kim Spradlin. She was leaps and bounds above everyone.
@Peridiam: I recently also watched Survivor Cook Islands (part of your original seasons to watch) and I wonder if you can share your thoughts and make a video about what Penner could have done differently at the post-merge tribal council when Yul showed him his idol.
I feel that because of just that one move, Yul is portrayed as a better strategic player than he actually is (he's a good social player though) and I was really disappointed in Penner that he couldn't think down the line a bit more. I think this analysis could fit in the theme of this video :D
when he said "what if Jeff probst became a player" I was like that would be the twist of the century
There is this funny enactment of Jeff being voted out by Parv somewhere. It’s hilarious to see Jeff get his torch snuffed 😂 I wish it was real
Did you watch the BBCAN vs BBUS sequester mini? would love to hear your thoughts especially on Ika getting Kimmi/Ciried at final 6 and on whether Alex or Hamza should have won.
Out here quoting Sklansky, knew there was a reason I liked these videos! Are/were you a 2+2er?
I have some sort of mental block on "Sequester". I don't know what it is, I tell myself to Google it, and I forget to until the next time I hear it. Then the process begins again
