      old Assassin's Creed is more on the Assassin thing while new Assassin's Creed focuses on graphics and other whatnot openworld actvities. I do know that older Assassin's Creed is open world but most open world activities are about assassinating a certain target unlike the new Assassin's Creed where magically you can enter the realm of Odin and meet Loki and stuff.

      I feel it's the lore of the conspiracy theories that made it so awesome. Walking away from that and away from ezios bloodline really lost the lure for me in the games and moving away from assassinations and going into God of war style fighting where you fight aliens in the form of monsters was even stupider. It should have been like a dlc not a main point of the game. But that's just my humble opinion. The game lost it's whole direction and took a 180. Doesn't mean it's bad just different and not all people like different even though I understand it from the point of the creators of the game.

    The series was never the same after the Ezio Collection. It had style, charm, genuine comedy, and a grand narrative. To think after all this time the series never produced anything quite on the same level again. You might be able to make an exception for Black Flag, but that's really about it.

      @BAT2000-n8p 2 года назад +3

      No, I have to disagree with you. Origins is still a good AC game. I feel like you and fans are saying very harsh things

    • @MatterCool90
      @MatterCool90 2 года назад +3

      @@BAT2000-n8p Well, let's just talk about Origins for a minute. When did Bayek and Amunet form the Hidden Ones? Toward the very end of the game. Was there any Brotherhood we could call down? Nope. No Brotherhood system. In fact most of the Hidden Ones content was locked behind DLC, and even then it didn't compare to a game like Revelations. That's not what I'd call a good AC game. I think it was poorly handled. Sure it had potential, but the Assassin stuff was clearly not Ubisoft's main focus of the game.
      As for why I say AC has largely died in general, take a look at who is no longer there - the creators. Patrice Desilets and Jade Raymond are gone. Lucy was killed off. Desmond died. Juno was killed in a book. And did they do anything with Desmond's father or Elijah? Nope. Not to my knowledge. So the vast majority of the original characters, even the creators themselves are gone. Most recently the games are less and less about the secret war between Assassins and Templars and much more about powers and Isu. It's simply not the same series any longer.
      So if I come off as harsh, it's only because I was with the series when it began and I had high hopes for it. I thought by now the series would have peaked in all the places that mattered, but instead we got a dead chosen one, a failed Unity, a switch to roleplay that has very little to do with Assassins, and perhaps worst of all no real Brotherhood.
      Ubisoft could still turn things around, but if their track record is any indication, I have almost zero hope for this franchise now - it's too wrapped up in exploitative practice. That's why my answer for most things AC is just play the Ezio and Kenway collections and you'll have played the best the series has to offer. There are even some more hardcore than I am that say you should simply stop after AC3, because that's when any meaningful narrative in the modern day ends. Desmond saves the world, Vidic is defeated, and the war probably continues, which is the true message of the games, that utopia is just a dream, and the war for peace never really ends.
      Anyway, I'm going to stop ranting. I hope this at least cleared up my position.

    Man, I had forgotten how much mechanical depth free running had in the originals. Then, you needed environmental awareness, had a variety of moves and ways to make the platforming quicker, more efficient and satisfying. Now it's only holding down a button and watching the character climb. That's such a loss.

    I find the old ac games are the best there are! Allso i have to say everything after syndicate (bad one but still one) is no ac any more.
    One thing i find funny in games is that they make you believe that hitting armor with a swords blade (not tip) would do damage and if the
    attacked wears chainmail stabbing wont work either unless u use special weapons designed to destroy mail.
