    For me, the mouse of choice is the logitech g502 x lightspeed.
    For me It's perfect in every sense. Good shape and size, incredible battery life, amazing precision, good materials, 6 extra buttons, free scrolling wheel, etc.
    I use it both for productivity and gaming, with a different profile so that the function of the buttons change accordingly.

    Dude, worry less about the mics, and play around with what you have. Best investment, in my opinion, is put the money you were going to use for the new mic and get a "Apollo Twin". Before then I would get a pop filter for the sm-57 and use it for voice over, you will have the sm-7b sound with a little eq in your daw. Then for your drums, take the foam off the MV-7 and put it facing down 2-3 feet above the bass drum. Move the mic away from you to adjust boomyness+room reflections and closer to you for more snap and brightness with less room reflections. if you play real hard (I'm a drummer myself) move the mic up.

    As someone who has the MX master, the best mouse for productivity, without equal, is the Logitech G602, which not only has more buttons but also allows you to scroll horizontally using the wheel as a toggable left/right directional input. Also all of those number pads are useless. You should look into a 3D connexion or shuttle contour pro v2 interfaces.

  • @michaelmccaffrey7017
    @michaelmccaffrey7017 10 месяцев назад +5

    Not a productivity mouse, however the logitech G502 has 5 programable buttons - and the scroll wheel can be pressed to scroll left or right. With mine set up I can do : Copy, cut, paste, forward, and back + scroll up, down, left, right. all from my mouse. Also it can be picked up in a wired for less than some of the Mx series.

    Logitech G604 Lightspeed is far better productivity mouse than the chunky MX Master series. It's lighter, has 6 programmable buttons on the side, 2 on the top, has hyperscroll, can connect to and switch 2 different devices using a button that's conveniently placed on top of the mouse. As for the horizontal scrolling you can easily do it using Shift button on your keyboard and using your normal scroll wheel.

    I use the corsair scimitar as a productivity mouse. 12 macro buttons on the left side, and with a little bit of Autohotkey magic they become modifiers for the scroll wheel for vertical and horizontal motion. I also use one of them to modify the scroll wheel to a volume knob.

      I did something similar. Small stuff like a mouse button for copy, paste, paste 2nd from clipboard history, enter, delete, close tab etc. Might seem overkill but my work felt so much smoother!
      I also used to have to type 3 letter codes into forms a lot so I made one button that “mirrored” the right side of the keyboard to the left. That way I could touch type without moving my right hand back and forth. Again, seems like overkill but I only wished I had done it sooner

  • @knwr
    @knwr 8 месяцев назад

    the logitech g502 gives me a lot more buttons. There are 2 thumb (usually forward/back) and 2 top buttons (I use them for going next tab/prev tab) and a mod key for a second layer for the 2 top buttons (I use it for close tab/open recently closed tab). In total, you get 6 buttons on your mouse hand so you can do quite a lot without it being overwhelming.
    As you can see I live in the browser lol

    Your issue isn’t the microphone, it’s the interface it’s connected to (the Behringer). MV7 is a great microphone, like its big brother SM7 it needs loads of juice so you need a high gain capable audio interface, or use a cloudlifter on it. On my high end Sound Devices recorder the gain sits at around 90%of max for it to sound good (sm7 at roughly 95%)
    Behringer is a low end brand. Their stuff has never been able to truly power Shures needy dynamic microphones.
    Also it’s a mic you need to almost eat. Angle it 45degrees from the side 3-5cm from your mouth. That’s the sweet spot . Then your airflow when speaking won’t pop into it.

  •  9 месяцев назад +1

    Hi,
    If you are doing music, please please please invest in acoustic treatment. This is much cheaper than a fancy screen like and a fraction of cost of microphones and music instrument, yet this is crucial for good audio recording and accurate mixing. Also, with all the premium stuff on your desk, you could actually invest in a better audio interface - that would change more than change of mic, trust me. Preamp on this Behringer is....bad. I was always a fan of cheap audio stuff as it simply works but there is a big difference in audio quality if you go slightly more expensive.
    Cheers!

    since the roccat leadr mouse isnt made anymore i switched to a razr naga pro. the leadr (tyon for older wired version) was the best due to having 2 fins/paddles on it. one on top and one on side. so you could use the side fin with your thumb to scroll up and down instead of mwheel and the top fin sat between 2 fingers where you could activate it by just rocking your hand left or right. then the mwheel could also be clicked to the left or right. it had a lot of awesome feature like a "hypershift" button to have a whole 2nd set of functions available. it is by far the best mouse ive ever used and ive used a lot. other than the hardware... the fins and buttons would all crap out after about 1.5 years or so and i dont like having to break a mouse down to replace parts so obviously the hardware was a problem. the naga pro is what ive found to be the best compromise with the 6 button side panel. i use the front 2 buttons for scrolling up/down then have 4 more buttons for things like cut/paste/enter/del. theres also a "hypershift" type button assigned to open up more functions. software is decent and hardware has been good so far, other than the mwheel being too easy to normal click when trying to click it to the left or right. i tried the logi one but its shape just didnt work and it didnt have enough side buttons to replace the leadr or naga pro. the "turn up" is also a decent volume control device worth looking at. it has 5 knobs and 5 buttons that can control all sorts of things, from specific programs you pick to active window, input volume, master, mic and output. has led rings you can setup in diff ways too, to show a color per program or vol level or whatever. software is decent with being pretty simple to use and is pretty stable currently. overall a very handy device and not too expensive.

    Im trying to figure out which models of macro keypads support sending MIDI CC messages with the sliders and knobs, without any special app running, as I want to use it with iPad Pro. This means it needs to show up as a MIDI device to the OS. Is there a thing like that or am I just wishin? I want to send keystrokes from the keys too, so it needs to support both keyboard and MIDI at the same time.

    I'm a big fan of the Logitech MX Ergo. I do a lot of pixel art, and I really like the precision I get with a trackball. I also have a desk with a keyboard tray and not a lot of room on it for a mousepad, so I like that I don't need much space for a trackball. It would be very hard for me to go back to a mouse at this point.

    I have a mouse that competess with the MX master series. One from logitech, m720. Unless you use the vertical scroll bar a lot its superior in everything but weight. The gesture button is better accessible right under your thumb. You basically have instant access to it without moving your thumb at all. It has 3 macro buttons on the side along with right and left tilt scroll buttons which are very easy to press along with endless scroll. It has 3 more macrokeys than the MX series and much better placed gesture button... Only thing its a bit heavy and the weight distribution is a bit off.
    Other than that there are mouses with 12 hotkey buttons on the side from Corsair, Ryzen and Steelseries. Or you have the Roccat Kone XP air with 7 macro buttons and left and right scroll tilt (although this tilt is a bit too hard to press) and the scrollbar not the greatest as well. But overall I really recommend the m720 (i also own the mx series mouse)

    Love the MX master a bunch, but the way they don't let you use the dongle when you map the 3 settings and don't let you factory reset drives me mad, and the horizontal scroll wheel is super inconsistent/buggy. But it's still by far the best mouse I've ever used and there's no close second.
    Side note: how do you keep yours clean? Mine looks gross and I have the dark one.

    The Roland device is called Aira, not Aria. There are 3 other models besides the J-6: S-1 is a basic synth, T-8 combines a drum machine with a bass synth, and E-4 is a "voice tweaker" (Roland's description). I have the J-6 and S-1, I found the J-6 to be pretty frustrating, if you want to make random sounds it's ok, but if you're trying to create with something specific in mind you need a lot more musical background than I have. For people with little to no experience with synths the T-8 is probably the best bet, although this is a whole world unto itself if you want to go down that rabbit hole.

    • @AardvarkAdventure
      @AardvarkAdventure 10 месяцев назад

      Hmmm...the J-6 is primarily based around the chord mode, which gives you like a hundred scales/modes/styles, keeping everything in key no matter what you do, which makes it one of the few devices that requires no actual knowledge of music. Do you maybe have it the J-6 and S-1 mixed up?

    Kia ora nick. I have watched several of your vids now and it intrigues me that you seem to spend premium on everything but the audio. If, as you say, you like tactile, take a look at products from CEntrance. They're a small Chicago company which specialises in analogue gear. I have their English Channel, a compact three-piece channel strip with hardware analogue audio interface, EQ and tripple processor with gate, compressor and de-essor. All you need is their ASIO driver if you plan to record and that's it. No firmware updates to break your system, no pesky menus to search through; just turn the knob and do the job.
    I'll take a look at that PC Panel as it may be just the thing to control the volume of my text to speech screen reading software and various media apps.
    Great work.

    I used that mouse for a while, but I am telling you, it's not the ultimate mouse setup for productivity. You need an light MMO mouse, like the Logitech G602. It's incredible to have cut, select all, copy, paste, clipboard history, enter, esc, close tab, reopen closed tab, back, forward, ctrl + z, ctrl + y, horizontal scroll, next tab, previous tab. It's not even close for how much more productive you can be.

    PC MASTER RACE 4 LYFE - Don't be a hipster about it. Saying shit is "outdated" in "whatever year you're currently in" is why solid manufacturers go away. Glorious is legit glorious. No need to diss the logo, putting your wack one over it is perfectly fine.

    I teach online, and I wish I had that curved monitor. For now, my teacher salary lets me stick with a 14' laptop. Congratulations, UT is really beautiful.

    A poor man's version of the Macropad is the Xp Pen ACK05. Wireless, 10 buttons, 1 wheel with a center button that toggles 4 functions for the wheel.
    The worst: the keys don't have auto-repeat, which limits continuous operations to be restricted to the wheel.
    The best: the companion app is very good and have auto applications detection - it recognizes the application that you are working at the moment and automatically switches the presets, eliminating the need of memory banks.

    Actually a gaming mouse but the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro has an awesome scroll wheel, you can push it left and right, and flick the scroll wheel to go from tactile to infinite mode. And the amount of options on the mouse with the "sniper" button being able to be an hyperswitch toggle allowing macros, media controls or program managing and more. But most importantly is its RGB 😁
