A couple pieces you skipped (probably to keep it from getting too long) started with the Royal Albert Hall orchestral charity performance, before performing Drown, Oli shared that the song was written for his friend Aiden, who had been fighting against brain cancer. Oli announced that Aiden was in the audience that night and asked everyone to cheer because Aiden had won his battle.
    Fast forward to Amo
The last track “i don’t know what to say” gets overlooked, but Oli wrote that song for Aiden also… sadly, though it’s a tribute. Shortly after the night at Royal Albert, Aiden’s cancer returned, and Aiden passed away.
Oli shared quite a bit about it all in interviews, but 1 detail not well known, is the orchestra that played when Aiden was in the crowd, is the same orchestra that plays on the “I don’t know what to say” track.
As someone who has lost someone to cancer, and having lost my best friend, I know people are critical of Amo, but for me, it is a bittersweet project deserving its own space.

Music has always helped me thru many difficult moments in life, yet for some reason BMTH has always pulled me thru my darkest… without the power of music I feel a lot of people would not be here…music has such a strong impact on so many people and it’s bands like BMTH that will never truly understand the impact they have made. When I saw them in concert this past year, I felt so many emotions at that show as so many of their songs mean something so strong to me. It as truly the best concert I have been too.

They all are so intensely gifted. Their exploration and experiments in different musical genres proves that to me.
The amount of courage that attempt takes and doing it well as well ...
Oli and Jordan also just have such a way of seeing music which aids their composition of their sound and songs.
I'm neurodivergent and I cannot tell you how centring listening to their music is to me. They all deserve the success.
Ludens is also a favourite of mine, especially when listening to it with headphones due to the effect during the lyrics: 'So come outside it's time to see the tide; it's out of sight but never out of mind'. Just gives me chills.

Hi! I am a 15 year old, and I wanted to share my story with being me the horizon. (And sorry for any grammar and spelling mistakes)
It was late 2020 and I wanted to start to listen to more diverse music. I was already into some rock music, and I wanted to try to listen to metal.
What better way to start to listen to a genere is, then to go to Spotify and listen to a playlist made by them? I opened "metal kickass", and one of the first songs that came out was "dear diary," by bring me the horizon. I fell in love with the song.
Then I started to listen to the band more. I loved every single song I heard, amo or cyb. I was mindblowed by how good they ware.
This band was gate opening, because of them I started to listen to metalcore, other hardcore subgenre, metal and more. Also, due to theire musical diversity I am pretty open to any genere.
In this period I also was in a pretty bad depression, and they ware there for me. I felt so good and comfortable when I listened to them. I felt like I had something to relate and relay on (one of the best feelings ever).
I love this band and I cannot ever thank them enough. Because of them I am who I am, I listen to the music I listen, I think the way I think and more.
If there is any chance any of the memebers of the band are seeing this: I love you guys. Thank you for anything

Having artists experiment with their art instead of doing the same thing again and again, is the best thing ever, it's exiting! it's fun! and it makes you a better artist. I've been doing art since i was a small kid and trying new things will always help you improve!

I spent all my teenage years only vaguely knowing about bmth's existence, mostly because i was more of a three days grace/early 30stm/shinedown/metallica etc. kind of rock/metal fan, and i really didn't enjoy this type of screamo that much. the only screamo band i liked was dead by april, and i only liked about 3 songs of theirs at the time. that's the spirit was the first time i liked bmth's music, i was completely obsessed with throne when it came out, it was my ringtone for like 2 years and everyone got annoyed with it 😂 then amo was very up my alley as a fan of electronic and synth/edm sounds - nihilist blues still makes me want to ascend into the skies. but it completely changed with post human. parasite eve came out at a PERFECT time, the intro is a remixed folklore song from my country and it pulled me in IMMEDIATELY. i was so obsessed with it that it shot up to #1 on my spotify on repeat in LESS THAN A DAY... the catharsis i experienced with parasite eve can only be matched by kingslayer. and kingslayer... causes a visceral reaction in me. those two songs opened me up to heavier sounding music. i still haven't listened to all of their stuff and i think i probably won't be that into their older music (i do absolutely love can you feel my heart though), but post human is one of my favourite EPs i've ever listened to. the way they mixed their old sound with their new one to create these gorgeous contrasting sounds, between gentle and heavy, just perfectly encapsulates what i love about their sound, as well as all the singles that have come out from that era onwards. the cathartic experience of going from screaming to gentle singing to addicting melodies (especially in songs like kool aid!!), electronic sounds with heavy guitars... if anyone asks me to describe my inner self with a musical sound, i would probably choose that. they opened me up to heavier genres and that's made me appreciate more artists. i'm seeing them live this year and i'm absolutely buzzing!!

I don't get people that reject bands that evolve and change, as you grow, your music taste changed.
I've always hated the old style of the band, but the modern stuff is unbelievable.

fun fact: drop dead clothing isnt a branch out, oli actually started it BEFORE bmth. he started bmth almost at the same time but yeah, drop dead has been around since the myspace days as well. thats where oli got his first customer base from, and part reason why bmth kicked off so fast was because people already knew oli as the guy selling cool alt shirts and wanted to check out his band.

I love this band so much cause you never know what they are about to drop next, but you know it`s going to be dope!!! My personal favorite song is "i apologize if you feel something" cause it reduces my fear and stress to 0 when I`m having a panic attack. Even my therapist was kinda shocked how well this song works for me. Otherwise, it would be much harder to face my trauma. So, I`m extremly thankful.

I've been a fan since Count Your Blessings but it wasn't until Sempiternal that I realized they are my favorite band in the world. That album got me through some really rough times. When they went more mainstream, I respected it and ultimately became a huge fan of the albums That's The Spirit and Amo. Fast forward to current times...they are still my favorite band in the world and they always will be. That PHSH EP was one of the most epic pieces of music I've heard. I still get chills every time I hear Kingslayer and the live version with Baby Metal gives me even more chills. Cheers to many more years of BMTH!!!

Releasing Parasite Eve was absolutely needed. So many tours and gigs were cancelled during the pandemic, and BMTH at the o2 arena in London 2021 was my first concert in almost 2 years. They played Parasite Eve there, and it just felt so cathartic, 20,000 people shouting the "AHHHCHOOO!" like we were showing 2 fingers to the virus, and the stupidy of the government's handling of it.

    • @derekrose3328
      @derekrose3328 Год назад

Based 🤝 Survival Horror goes in. It’s my #1. For me 2nd place is almost a three way tie between, “amo,” and, “Sempiternal + There Is A Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen It,” as when I listen to those latter two records, I listen to them resequenced and combined in a playlist of mine; moreover, those two records feel like two sides of the same coin whether it’s the lyrics or the music.
Hell, that’s why I wrote an (accidental) dissertation on, “The Fox & The Wolf,” and, “Chelsea Smile,” (if there would’ve been room I’d of added it to, “Can You Feel My Heart,” too) on the music site called, “Genius.”
There was a clue on Chelsea Smile, then Oli REALLY opened it up lyrically on the following two records. Then, musically, Sempiternal (as a result of Oli’s prolific ideas + Jordan’s skill sets + Lee & Matt being just as involved as ever) they were able to take musical elements that were only layers or added texture on, “There Is A Hell,” and instead make those elements the foundation for various songs.
Hell, Jordan & Lee gave a class on that approach back in 2014 in some outdoor area. Watch that some time, and it shows you what I mean.
EDIT: Found the class the two of them gave:

@@jeziahlewin8550 sempiternal is not that good and did no such thing, it's good but PH is better, they took risks and did alot more prog-like stuff with it. It represents alot more than the sum of its parts for the band.

I have worked a signifficant number of years in event security and having an artist jump the fence is one of the most nerve racking things that can happen. everyone in security steps up into the fence steps and tries our very best to try an see what the artist is doing and if anything is happening and always 100% ready to jump the fence and assist that artist. and a crowd surfe is even worse.

I owe Bring Me a lot. I remember being around 5 years old (i'm 20 now) when my brother (28 years old) introduced me to We Came as Romans and I absolutely fell in love. Skip a few years and I get into Bring Me, Ice Nine Kills (THE OG INK!! BEFORE THE HORROR FILM SHIT! Biggest flex is I saw them in the Basement in Rock City and met them after in 2016). I can't get over how much metalcore has allowed me and my oldest brother to bond; especially through Bring Me.
I listened to the Royal Albert Hall performance on repeat a few years back, had an emo phase relapse in 2020, and cried at Overture.
Now, two days ago, I saw them for the second time in Sheffield and they played Overture into Doomed during the encore. I've never cried at a show before then, but when I tell you I felt fucking RAPTURE, screaming and crying out the lyrics to Doomed. I've never felt this with metalcore before, I just felt so much and let the music absorb me it was such a sublime experience.
BMTH is and always will be my favourite band of all time and I thank my brother for introducing them to me!
